Yes I was thinking this but I'm guessing Rob is threatening to tell Aiden and Kate if Johnny doesn't cough up which is why she has decided to tell them herself.

Surprised no-one's picked up on this (sorry if I missed it) but is Ken really in a position to look down on Nessa for an extra marital affair?

On the subject, I can't think of a recent time when there wasn't at least one affair involved in an "active" storyline, but Corrie's getting a bit silly now.

Corrie affair tote board:

Kathy, husband and Nessa
Johnny, his wife and Carla's mother
Tracy and the two Roberts
Carla, Robert and Nick
Mary and the married Alien mag man
Eileen, Les Dennis and Gail (technically)
Kevin, woman he's dating and fishwife (sort of)
Ex-Christian, Johnny's daughter and army girl (virtually certain to occur)

Absolutely ludicrous. ..hence my total boredom of the show after 20+ years

So now we can't seem to have a single scene with only Kevin OR Anna. They sure Bump into each other a hell of a lot I'd say they will be bumping into each other a lot more soon.
Oh, and the Vicars in the pub.. .........again.

Ken looking down on Nessa isn't a SOR. Characters can be hypocrites.

Think he's angry that Tracy made him feel like second best, then Carla used him then starts giving him attitude. Granted the build up to this storyline was as usual hopelessly contrived.

Nice to see someone not taking her shit for once.

Unfortunately though the writers will probably try and make Robert look like the bad guy and evil villain and Carla the poor little victim. Zzzzzzzzzzz. We'll see, but it wouldn't surprise me if he ends up leaving this year.

Bumping uglies you mean

I counted down the seconds from 5 to 0 when he was kissing Joanne (?) outside the taxi office to the inevitability of Anna walking round the corner and I was spot on

Last week Rob was caught with having a mobile phone. Surely he'd have his visitation rights taken away from him?

Roy told Nessa to come back after lunch, how far of a drive is it to Cathy's house if it was pitch black by the time they got there?

Tracy: "It's either there or the Rovers" or any other pub/place to eat or drink in Weatherfield?

Plus did Roy and Nessa not know Cathy was home judging by the lights being on? They seemed surprised she was there.

And how convenient she discovered the letters just soon after Roy revealed his knowledge of the affair to Nessa.

I was so taken aback by them not noticing the lights were on that for a second I thought that was reasonable!

Also regarding the desk - wasn't it in the study? Why was it moved to the living room.

And if Cathy could casually go through the papers in it, why did she ask Roy to do it initially.

I'm surprised Ken found out about Nessa's affair so soon.

The Corrie writers usually drag this sort of sh!te out for weeks. Cliffhanger, guilty one cornered........

This really is a p..s poor storyline that came out of nowhere. And it was Robert who suggested getting a room, although obviously slaggy Carla could have said no!

I think Billy the vicar is there because he has seen how far Liz has strayed from her strict moral upbringing. After a rake of ale he is nutty enough to rush the bar flap and in two minutes have poor Liz in the horizontal position singing "gimme that old time religion " at the top of her voice. He's a desperate character altogether is Billy. Go to any length to save us from ourselves.

Yes that was so clunky and out of character for the Rev to be waffling that stuff about Johnny. Jason must be on his hols in Bermuda or something so Billy the Vic has to be randomly slotted into scenes. 'A.N. Other male actor with no storyline - use whoever is on the roster that day' must be the instruction on the script.

It's a marmite laugh for sure, some find it cute I personally find it as annoying as nails down a blackboard. And there's no way it's genuine

When Carla marched into the Rovers and wanted to talk to the rest of the Connors "in private" why didn't she take them back to her flat?

Instead she asked if they could use the back room of the pub - hardly private!

I missed the big secret. I know the Connor man is Carla's dad, but what did he do to his wife? He caused her death in some way, but how?

They had a big row - she stormed out of the house and got knocked down and killed by a car.

What would have been a huge SOR was for Anna to meet someone at the 'Singles' night who didn't live or work on the Street, who didn't have a guilty secret and was a nice allround guy.

Silly, I know

I don't remember it always being like it is now, but maybe because there's weren't so many characters when Corrie first started.

Nowadays we have one or two chunks of totally unconnected "stories" involving a couple of groups of characters. At the moment one chunk is the Barlows involving Nessa, Ken, Amy Tracey, Todd, Roy and Cathy and another involving the Connor clan with Anna/Kevin and Mary/married "friend" slotted in to fill the gaps. The Hope cancer thing, the Platts murder/pregnancy plot has been abandoned, Eileen/Les Dennis and the Kirk/Beth clan have all been sidelined. Give it a week or two and the Barlows and Connors will disappear off our screens and other groups will be concentrated on.

Am I looking through rose-coloured specs, or did the stories in earlier years involving just about everyone with the right number of people living in each of the two up/to down houses interacting with each other most of the time?
