That looks so-oo like Fiz!

Me too. ”

I think maybe the idea is to show them as two people damaged in childhood who dont want to change memories of a stable time in their life, (i am thinking of when Fiz lived with Tyrone before, after she swiped him from Maria) but the writers have overdone it. (a lot )

This really annoyed me too! Where was her kid? Who could have been looking after him?

Really? Two damaged people? You're giving Corrie far too much credit. That would require some serious thinking about.

Corrie just want to keep the house as a shrine to J&V!

Maybe some home office intervention when it turns out to be a marriage of convenience, perhaps they have to pretend to be married .... have we had that storyline before ? I'm sure we did

Kirk? Audrey? we don't have to be drip fed everything that happens off camera. just use your own imagination, if the soaps took time to explain where every character was off screen, it would fill the whole half hour.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but how are Todd and Callum related? When Sarah asked him to be godfather Todd said something like 'Callum is my family'

Yes, The Wizard of Oz, for which Audrey seems to be helping with hair/make-up? A mate of the lion lady started a thread the other day...

So why wasn't the hair/makeup being done at the location the show was being shown?

Yes, I agree, I think pointing out "SORs" like that is clutching at straws a bit...

Of course we really know the answer anyway it was so there would be a excuse for why the costume that Maria put on was there in the first place, because when the players in a production nip into a salon nowhere near the location they are doing the production to have their hair/makeup done they always conveniently leave their costume behind just so it can be used by someone for some daft reason.

A few years ago someone (can't remember who) wanted to have the cladding removed, but a builder said it would damage the underlying brickwork too much so they couldn't do it.

Solution 1: Easy. Paint al the cladding in one neutral colour. The cost of a tin of masonry paind and done by Tyrone in one day.

Solution 2: Remove the cladding, damage the brickwork, render the brickwork and paint it a neutral colour. More expensive, but would give master builder Jason more work or give another scam opportunity to Phelan .

Both a lot better than it looks now and no-one in real life would put up with the it looking like it does.

and not only someone but any random someone who fits the costume perfectly

in fact the costume fitted Maria more than it would the lady it was meant to fit

I'm surprised they didn't have her wearing Liam's spidyman costume

What did Sharif even say to the police to get an instant, presumably blue light, response? He sure as hell didnt say he suspected someone was buying/selling drugs, cos they would not class that as an emergency!!!

And what are the chances of there not being an incident on the ring road to slow traffic up like on the night of the fire...............

And he never would have or indeed should have been arrested for a bag of weed. Cops should have arrested Sharif for wasting police time.

apparently in real life it would have damaged the brickwork of the external, quay street set, which they didn't want to spend money on repairing because they were moving to their new set, well that's what the bods on the corry tour said when I asked them

good points that there are ways round it, they cant keep it like that forever because it's silly to do so

Knowing they were going to demolish the set would have been an ideal opportunity to wreck the old set and put up a cheap rendered facade on the old one before building the proper thing on the new set. I'd have thought the cost would have been drop in the ocean compared with what the new set cost overall.

But that would be too sensible.

The Jack and Vera shrine is beyond belief.
If you compare it to when Stan died and later when Hilda went, the Websters - another young couple similar to Tyrone and Fiz in that Kevin lodged with Hilda - took over number 13 but then changed it beyond recognition. This was a good thing - imagine if the flying ducks were still there almost 30 years later?
Also, the Rovers bugs me. After the fire a few years ago, they had a brilliant opportunity to completely redo the set. Instead, we had a scene where Stella said she wanted it to look exactly the same (why? What emotional attachment did she have that would make her want this?) and to this day it hasn't changed since the 80s.

I just watched Friday's episodes. Wow. What is happening?
It was like a cheap spin off series. As soon as you remove the heavyweights the peripheral characters just do not match up to previous episodes. And probably not the actors' faults either.

All that Fiz and Tyrone stuff. Awful, awful. Like an episode of Fireman Sam or Noddy. Oh, look! All the street signs have disappeared during the night. Where can they have gone?

The Maria and Luke stuff. Wow. It is absolutely drivel. They may as well have had a couple of strangers getting engaged in the Rovers. Why was Maria knocking back cheap drink in the middle of the day? Where was everyone else. She has a child to look after later on. It's so random. The actors must dread the scripts coming in through the door. They look actually uncomfortable saying the lines in recent episodes - even Audrey is struggling with her stuff.
That Lion stuff - it was so unMaria like. Has she ever shown any sort of eccentric behaviour like that. If it had been Kirk that would've been fine. If I was Luke I'd have told her to sober up and come back and talk to me later.

All that Gym stuff - Dev and the Dane - like the school play. Erica bringing the tea in china cups.

Luke suddenly taking part in the Fiz and Tyrone household. I certainly wouldn't want the lodger hanging my underwear up to dry. So contrived to shoehorn him and Maria back in.

Producers need to know they can't base all the action for weeks and weeks in one location with one set of actors, then expect us to suddenly embrace whole episodes set around peripheral actors in other locations we are not used to.
They can't bring Maria back and then fill every scene with her. She was no star before she left. No one gives a single flying fart about what she does because we have zero connection with her.

So for months we had Bistro, Factory, Bistro, Roys Rolls, Rovers, Bistro, Bistro, Bistro.
Fridays episodes were Gym, Tyrone's House, Gym, Gym, Gym, Izzy's House, Izzy's House.

Out of Friday's episodes the only acting segments of note were: Todd and Sarah, Kylie and Sarah, and the Policeman manning the front desk in the police station.

I only have time to watch one Soap in the week, and for first time in many years I am considering if Eastenders has more to offer.

Tina made Graeme marry Xin.

It is a SOR to for Maria to go babysitting when she has a child who will also need babysitting. Do people actually leave their own child to go and babysit for someone else? No. Therefore, it is a SOR. Thanks to the OP for pointing it out.

I remember Molly wanted it removed but it couldn't be done. Like you, I've wondered why on earth it hasn't been painted a neutral colour. But we all know the answer to that don't we?

It is.

in that one room at Ty's where they seem to do everything; cook, eat, watch TV, the girls' play, their smalls hang about drying and J&V's cocktail cabinet is in the corner is beyond plausible.

Why does Luke want to rent a room at that dump?

FFS! It's a bit of weed!!!

And I'm fairly certain that the Manchester Police have a lot better things to do than charge someone over a quarter. It would not even reach court.

Should be interesting to see how Tyrone gets rid of the of all the rubbish.
" If you sell metal to a scrap metal dealer, do not expect to be paid in cash; if the dealer does he will be breaking the law." to quote the British Metals Recycling Association.
If he gets a cheque will he be able to cash it? I bet he has an overdraft as big as the National Dept!
