I think the ping pong thing could be the silliest SL ever
![]() The scene with Kirk training Aiden while the work (sort of) went on alongside was quite surreal.

Did Tyrone arrange for all that snow? It looked like it was in the Barlows' garden too. How much must that have cost? I know Ty's gone into debt to pay for it all but even so, it looked like the type of stunt you'd need to be super rich to finance.
The Christmas episode was weird - it was like they'd totally given up on making it in any way realistic. The outdoor scenes looked like The Andy Williams Christmas Show, or Quality Street or something ![]() |

To answer a poster's question on the previous thread, I assume Mary is now a live-in nanny at Dev's. Does Erica live at Dev's too?

![]() I've given up hope of ever finding out what happened to Mary's motor home. If she doesn't give a stuff about it, why should I? ![]()

Apologies if this has been posted before, but where did Gary have his Christmas dinner? Or did he go off and stay with Eddie wherever?
And Nessa said she'd got to Ken's by bus. On Christmas day? Lucky old Weatherfield having such a good service. Unless revolting Nessa was lying for some reason - maybe she came in a cab but didn't want to let on in case it made her seem too keen ![]() BIB I wondered that. When Anna invited Izzy, Izzy was reluctant as she thought Gary wouldn't want her there. Anna assured her that he'd be fine with it . When Izzy cries off sick no mention is made of Gary. Perhaps i nodded off and missed a bit. ![]()

I find these two characters complete caricatures of their former selves.
I know a lot of people find Sally amusing but she never used to be as silly as she is now. Her and Gail were feisty girls in their day but some of the drivel they come out with now is unbelievable. Why the writers feel they have to portray them like this is a mystery to me. Gail simpers and Sally hovers between silly and nasty, as the script requires. Both are snobs. I despair at times. ![]() Rant over ![]() Didn't Gail also have a share in the cafe and run it with Alma for many years? The way people treat Gail you wouldn't think she used to run a business. |

What I wondered was how Sally and Tim could go from catering for two to feeding six adults (since Fay is fully adult-sized) and a child. Where did all the food come from? There was no mention of them bringing their own food - unless I missed it - and in any case what a palaver it would be to sort all that out.

I know this has probably been brought up, but Billy hanging around the street and back in the pub. No church to go to (despite it being the busiest time of the year). I don't know why Corrie didn't just have Billy give up being a vicar like he wanted to months ago if he is just going to loiter around the street. He even seems to be staying at Eileen's now.

![]() ![]() Like others I wondered how catering for two can suddenly feed six! I think we must assume they they pooled all their stuff. And anyway Anna Windass always has plenty of carrots in for emergencies! Was that bl@@dy annoying Nessa woman really serious about travelling by bus to Ken's on Christmas Day? Re the snow - I think the snow on the street was meant to real. They were snowballing and making snowmen. Can that be done with fake snow and as already pointed out, it was also at the back of the houses. |

Not an SOR really, but an interesting effect of filming well in advance.....
Real snow (in the storyline at least) on the Street, and Chesney says about talking to Katie in Portugal "She says it's 16° out there"..... Ironically, that's what it was here in the UK too, at least in Lincolnshire!

That snow would have turned to slush by the afternoon, given the air temperature.. And why were there flakes floating about in the air?

My wife is a carer and several of her clients spent Christmas day in them. They get a Christmas dinner, chocs and sweets. A sherry or two and some entertainment. |

I assume the snow was to add to the "bringing Lapland to Hope" aspect of the storyline but it ended up being an over the top mess with Santas, reindeer, brass bands, Christmas trees etc, like some outdoor summer street party bizarrely transplanted into the middle of Christmas Day.

There was quite a thick blanket of snow on the ground yesterday. Yet some characters such as Tyrone and Liz did not exactly dress as though it was cold.

It was vomit inducing. And having everyone walk out of their houses and into the street in wide eyed wonderment as they chessesly cuddled their loved ones was beyond the pale.
