Oh, sorry, Janet I got the wrong end of the stick. So he wouldn't need to unplug anything at all?
Right. But the writers obviously couldn't think of anything better that something that was nonsense.

I was being ironic! But you obviously missed it because I rarely use emoticons - words and context should be sufficient. The writers made a big thing about the scar which would disfigure him for life.when he was mugged - but it's disappeared.
Maybe so, but Eileen will have doubts about whether to believe Todd or not, based on how he has treated her in the past and she did take Phelan's side over Michael's despite her having known Michael considerably longer which makes it even more hilarious, I often think the writers do it that way just because they know it winds some people up.

I am really enjoying the pantomime Phelan. Does anyone else think he killed Tony?

Phelan unplugged the CCTV cable before vandalising the community centre.
He's honing his skills for when it comes time to sneak in the back door of the hospital and unplugs Todd's life support.

Maybe that's why Jason leaves as Phelan blames Jason for it saying that he unplugged it to plug his mobile in so Jason gets arrested for killing Todd?

Just shows what a dimbo Todd is if he thinks he can catch Phelan that easily, he certainly shouldn't give up the day job of pansy arranging to become a detective that's for sure.

Yes, she believed him over Anna too. She'll continue to be conned by him until he's fleeced Jason for every penny he can get.

To be honest I think anyone would believe anything over what Anna says so that's not saying much.

One point I don't think has yet been mentioned is when Michelle had gone to the bedroom with the old childhood flame, she came down again with instant regret about what she had done, or not done it now seems? Not so long ago we had much the same tedium when Gary and Alya "copped off" with each other and she also instantly regretted it and became a wreck. Time after time this clichéd device is used, and CS have used the very same within a very short order.
I think you mean Jason and Alya.
You're quite correct, that is who I meant. I've gone a bit rusty!

So Zeedan and what's her face at it like rabbits in a cupboard, like Gary and Alya had demonstrated before, didn't their religion indicate they have to marry first?
No they weren't, the story made that clear. But anyway, a lot of people disregard what their religion teaches when it comes to sex.

It doesn't get any better does it. I've been off this thread for a couple of months and just had a massive catch up to date. Now I can post a few thoughts again.

Steve's depression - did Michelle learn nothing from that? It seems so. The same old routine is being played out again and Steve is the mug yet again. He needs a feelgood partner, not some constant emotional drain on his own wellbeing like Michelle. I have to say Simon Gregson looked very well with his tan and has clearly lost some weight too around his face.

Phelan is a great character and quite believable, except when he trashes a community centre like that. Phelan is definitely scared of cherubic Todd, there's no doubt. It's not all about brute force and musclepower but the intellect and cleverness that Todd can use against Phelan. It's the best story at the moment. Watching Phelan reminds me of the good old days of Brookside actually!
Welcome back to this thread Rich! I only post on here occasionally myself as I quite often watch CS a few days after broadcast and by then a few pages have passed and anything I have to say is out of date. Disagree with you about Phelan - he was a great character, but typical CS, they have turned him into Dick Dastardly.

Zeedan's grandmother openly admitting that she and grandpa were always at it when they were young.

Too much info or too much BS?

The PTB seem to have forgotten the way they have previously portrayed that family.
Yes! Remember how disgusted they all were with Alya when they found out she'd had a sexual one off with Jason! Suddenly the old girl is bragging about her own conquests to the grandson. Clearly she's now had her CS personality transplant too.

All are just convenient hooks to hurry the plot along regardless of credibility or realism and of course we have the new Pantomime villain to boo and hiss at during the closeups.

Biggest stupidity to me is smiley face ditching his fiancee and neither the wedding planner or her glamorous assistant giving a thought to the business of cancelling all their hard work in finding venue, caterers, etc. The Bistro will be distraught to lose such business with an entire wedding +50 EXTRA guests to cater for. Of course, this will probably never be mentioned again.
The reception was planned for the big hall Smiley and Misery Guts visited last week.

Two SOR last night were firstly when Steve booked a meal for himself and Michelle it was at a Sushi Bar and NOT the bistro!

Secondly Eileen saying she would really miss Tony as he had been a big part of their lives for so long! As far as we know they hadn't seen him for years, possibly decades!
Not a SOR, Tony has been in the show before (played by a different actor) and I'm sure Eileen would still have a connection with the father of her first born. She may have loved him, but not his behaviour.

It hasn't disappeared, it was quite clear in last night's episodes.

Wrong. Yes he had to unplug the video lead as was made clear, it was making out that this was done by Jason to charge his mobile that was the SOR element.

It's a good job he didn't lose an arm or a leg, or an eye in that attack, because knowing CS they would probably have suddenly reappeared as if by magic after he'd been off screen for a couple of weeks!

Soapland never shows Muslims correctly, they never wear Niqabs, Hijabs, Burkas etc, they never live strict lives and values with women under control of their menfolk. They are always shown as Westerners with brown skin. Probably a bit of propaganda to convince us that they are just the same as us.

A big SOR last night was the absence of Liz without any excuse being made. At least in Friday's episode they pretended she was upstairs giving Steve a telling off. I notice they used Aidan as a Liz substitute at breakfast! Is her absence now going to be explained as that she is in hiding from Jason?!

Not a SOR in that middle aged men die from heart attacks all the time, but as Coronation Street is the death capital of Britain, did we really need yet another death when the character had already been written out.

Just popped in for a very brief lunchtime visit here, post a couple of points incase I forget later. CS is mostly background noise for me nowadays I have to confess. Someone posted the Mike Baldwin clip from 1999 the other day with Sally held hostage in the house. I was staggered at the difference in quality, showing just how badly the show has declined all round. The production ought to revisit the older and even not so old shows and remember how they used to do it so much better. Ten years this month since they lost Mike Baldwin, what a loss to the show he has proved. The tossers in charge of Underworld now are an absolute pack of jokers.

I thought ... and I maybe wrong here, that the pink hall was the venue but following a food tasting scene in the Bistro the week before, they had chosen beef stew or something ... (without consulting the bride), but maybe I was dreaming the whole thing. Not bothered to check back but it's obviously all become a bit muddled.

I thought the Bistro was doing the catering, but not holding the reception at their restaurant (as it was mentioned it was to small at the time, before the extra 50).
