But there are all sorts of Muslims and all sorts of people. You cant fit all of them into one street.

But a video lead has absolutely nothing to do with charging a mobile phone. He had to unplug the video lead from the camera to the recorder, but if he wanted to say it was to do with charging a mobile phone, he should have unplugged the mains lead from the electrical wall socket. That's what a mobile phone charger is plugged into - an electrical socket, not a video lead. That was the SOR - the wrong lead.

also the video software wouldn't just show a blank file saying no video it would show what was recorded up to the point the plug was pulled

Not a SOR in that middle aged men die from heart attacks all the time, but as Coronation Street is the death capital of Britain, did we really need yet another death when the character had already been written out.”

Liz was supposed to be in last night's episode, but she'd obviously been given time off for her depression before it was filmed. According to the spoilers, she should also be in another couple of episodes this week, but won't be. It was announced that she'd miss filming for Tony's funeral, but not the other missing bits.

It did show what happened up to it being unplugged and then suddenly the no video message.. I'd have thought the screen would just go to snow, i.e. no signal from the point where it was unplugged rather than a message on screen. I can't imagine that it would be more than a basic system with no bells and whistles like an absent video message.

just played the scene back and it show the screen with each day's recording. Jason clicks on the 22nd and the screen open up to show a no video sign.

so Phelan unplugged the camera at midnight knowing full well that 16 hours later he needs the camera to be unplugged as he plans to vandalise the community centre

that is good forward planning

Surprised no one commented on the biggest SOR of last night, what was happening with Eileens teeth.

Looks like she was breaking in teeth that once belonged to Shergar, only much whiter

Also looks like Eileen has been tangoed

And expecting to get it on with Michelle - who already has a a husband - mind you it wiped that perma-grin off his face at last.

Yes I was going to comment. To me she looks like she has had veneers, they look ridiculous and set off so well against that ridiculous orange tan

Come to Derby then, most Muslim women wear Niqab, or Hijabs, they even shop in Tesco with faces veiled. Whole schools of little girls [girls only] dressed head to foot in black. Not just Derby, but Leicester, Bradford , Peterborough and others. Where do you live? out in the sticks somewhere

Just finished watching and it quite clearly a micro usb cable that was unplugged not a video cable so Jason could of charged his phone with it

The SOR was that no decent security system would use a micro usb to power it

Our CCTV was installed in 2001, and when you unplug the video lead, the screen says No VIDEO, so I am sure if they did that then, they would now.

I haven't rewatched, but I assume you're right in that it was a micro USB cable, which presumably, as I said, was intended to come from the security camera. Why else would there be no video signal when it was unplugged? If so, then why would you use a cable carrying a video signal to charge your phone? Still the wrong lead to charge a phone, so still a nonsense explanation from Phelan on why it was unplugged.

USB connecters are often used by power supplies/chargers these days so that some electrical devices can be powered or charged from USB ports on PCs too so it might not have been the wrong lead.

Also USB can be used to supply a video signal and a power supply simultaneously so indeed could be used for a CCTV system for both the video signal and power.

I didn't know that. That means that I can throw out some of the USB and Micro USB leads and chargers we have, especially as my OH has at least two (sometimes three) of everything - laptops, camera, phones, tablets, iPods ............................. I stick to one of each. Now I come to think of it, I do use a lead to both charge my tablet and transfer data to my laptop at the same time.

It's really irrelevant what the cables are. All that was needed was a flimsy reason for Phelan not to be recorded trashing the CC. There was no thought into making it totally credible ... just that it gets unplugged without further challenge by Jason that he's charged his phone that way before, and as has been mentioned earlier, it would've needed much forward planning to unplug it hours before the deed was done, and that is the real SOR.

I appreciate davejc64 teaching me something I hadn't known/realised before. Always useful to become aware of something new, and never too old to learn..

It wouldn't have needed that much planning as Phelan was at the Builders yard and watched old ma Nazir leave the Community centre he then only had to disconnect the power supply for the CCTV before going down to break in, so not that much planning needed there.
