Where exactly has he been living all his life, he must have had a house that he lived in while he was bringing up family? Yet he turns up on the Street homeless, and has to fight with his son to rent a grotty flat, now he has to go and kip at a mates. I thought he had a bit of money, yet he doesn't have a house

Johnny Connor - businessman extraordinaire. Didn't he say he had a villa or summat in Spain and the ex girlfriend managed to make off with everything? With his financial history and Carla's business 'flair' how the hell are the Connors going to make that factory be successful? It's hardly a viable business anyway!

I thought she was just staying in his spare room whilst she got round to clearing out her own house. Are we to assume they've actually been sharing a room? I personally think this is one of the biggest SOR's - someone like Roy would (probably) prefer to be alone with his memories of Hayley than to settle down with someone else. Of course, this can't happen, as, as has been mentioned before, it's a CS rule that no-one can not be a relationship.... ”

Same here. And how much of an 'item' are Mary and Brendan?

Johnny Connor - businessman extraordinaire. See above!

I'm getting rather tired of the "You killed our mother" lines being aimed at Johnny just because it suits the script and the plot (reminds me of how Carla was accused of "murdering" Maddie and Kal). Johnny's wife died in a tragic accident, end of story.

she played ruth walsh in 2011. She was an inmate when fizz was in prison for her role in the John Stape stuff

Great character, especially when she tormented Fiz in prison. She needs to be brought back.

And didn't he say, it's only 20 minutes away. How big is Wetherfield suppose to be. I didn't even think it was big enough to be able to have its own 'other side'

I always thought Weatherfield was supposed to be
Salford which (as this is a fact I know and haven't just googled) has an area of 8 square miles. So that 20 minutes away I presume is if you're going by foot

Oh I don't know, I reckon it could take 20 minutes in rush hour traffic to drive across 8 square miles, especially if the ring road was closed!

Debbie Rush's daughter Poppy Rush is in that there London soap playing the friend of the transgender character. She looks very much like her mum (Anna).

Quite the stepping stone having an actress mum.

Off piste from SORs, I know, but must mention on this subject that Sally Dynevor's daughter Phoebe is in Dickensian at the moment.

She closely resembles Sally, especially at some angles when she looks a lot like her when young.

Is she the one who is Stacey's brothers friend? Seen here: https://metrouk2.files.wordpress.com...0&h=310&crop=1

She reminded me of Bethany Platt/Kym Marsh's daughter.

I think it's distinct from Salford. I remember Hilda Ogden once saying somebody was in Salford Royal (Hospital), and years back when I did the Granada Studios Tour the map at the bus stop had both Weatherfield and Salford on it...

How over the top was Aiden? No one cares about the Connors backstory because it's just chopped and changed to fit the plot. They haven't been given time to settle in, it's just revelation after revelation. And I can't warm to them because they are ubiquitous. Just when you thought Carla was bad enough............

And Johnny just deciding to kip at a friend's (who lives nearby..........) so the drama blows over, please. He'll be back, there will be another revelation and the Connors will just get even more worked up.

The more I think about this horrible family, the more I hate them. Not a patch on the Baldwin extension, who had mega faults.

Yes the entire thing is beyond ridiculous. I'm not sure why we're supposed to care that Johnny slept with another woman in the mid 1970s. I think if I found this out about someone in real life and close to me, I still wouldn't be that bothered

So is weatherfield a town? Or just an area?

According to Corripedia:

"Coronation Street is set in the town of Weatherfield, part of the larger Metropolitan Borough of Weatherfield, a fictional local authority area in Greater Manchester and in the postcode area of M10. "

"Granada is very strong on creating as authentic a background for the street as possible basing it on real Manchester data. All the telephone numbers begin 0161 and the River Irwell is said to run through Weatherfield.

Weatherfield lies southwest of Manchester and has been a community since pre-Roman times."

It's hard to be bothered about any Corrie SLs. One of the reasons is that they are so overtly signposted like Kevin and Anna getting together and all is usually revealed in spoilers anyway. Apart from the SORS, which are laughable and make Corrie look amateur, nothing is a surprise.

Pre-Roman?! That lot in Weatherfield go way back. Some of them could be the answer to the missing-link!

Carla shows little emotion to anything. She gets big SLs, yet there's hardly any reaction. She's an emotionless zombie. EE characters really go for it!

Roy and Nessa heard Cathy's "help me" whilst standing on the opposite side of the street...really??????

There is no way a pedant like Roy would say 'this is about Cathy and I' that line totally made the grammar police in me cringe

And her waving the tablecloth or whatever it was at the fire was nearly as good as Stella's trying to escape from the Rovers fire

And why didnt she just move the boxes that blocked her exit? Roy had no trouble.

Another ridiculous aspect tonight was when after the fire Kathy was quoting parts of her husbands letters ("I cannot bear to touch her when I have been with you") to Nessa. What would his letters to Nessa be doing in his own house? Nessa would have them!!
