So Anna's in the café smiling stupidly and trying to patronise the Down's bloke.
That's typical Anna and some people wonder why others don't like the character and have no sympathy for her.

Total SOR. How can a very obvious female go shopping with a credit card in the name of Steven MacDonald? Even if she knows his PIN even the most dimwit of shop assistants would realise that a possible fraudulent transaction was taking place!

Not sure I follow.

How many shop assistants check the card before you put it in the machine like they are supposed to?

Exactly, you dont hand over a card to anyone anymore, you just slot it in the machine.

I find it hard to believe that Steve can't cook. He has run pubs that serve food since he was a teenager. What was all that crap with Michelle outside in the beer garden having a heart to heart with Amy. Completely shallow...'but I do love him. And I couldn't find a dress in town. But I won't go in and eat me dinner....'. No one gives a flying fart luv unfortunately, and Steve neither, Steve is so just going through the motions of someone pretending to care in order to just keep the peace.
This is supposed to be Michelle having some sort of crisis or an epiphany of some sort, yet it comes across as a sulky mood trying to delay the stupid dinner to make a stupid point that is so unclear Steve will never get it.
Steve and Michelle have run their course, there is zero chemistry between them. Both of them act clunky with each other - it is so forced.
Jack and Vera, they ain't. And never will be.

In fact, the advice is not to hand your card to an assistant because they might have a card copying device.

I'm not keen on contactless cards either because you don't even need to have a PIN to use them, but apparently you can get a wallet which will block the signal so it can't be read by fraudsters with a scanner.

Michelle is all about Michelle and what she wants and needs and Steve is always going to be wrong in her eyes unless he is providing her with what she wants and needs and even then she won't be satisfied and want more.

Thanks. It's insulting. Thanks goodness Fiz hasn't had any scenes with him! (alex)
I think it's insulting to the actor as well. I dont talk to babies in a baby voice let alone people with down syndrome or any other mental health issue for that matter

What is the point of that widower that appeared on the street. Was he brought in to keep Ken in a permanent state of angst wondering if he is going to throw his leg over heart throb Audrey or his Harley Davidson and then leave town never to be seen or heard of again. Strange day's indeed.

Down's syndrome isn't a mental health issue. It has nothing whatsoever to do with mental health. Just like people without DS, people with DS may or may not have mental health problems, though all those I know have a robust attitude to life and pretty high self-esteem.

I do agree that Anna talks patronisingly to Alex, but I see that more as bad acting on her part. She seems to over-react in most situations.

I know. You only have to go onto the internet or open a newspaper to find a cheap sun holiday for a week, especially in May. Billy seems to have time to sit around in the Rovers all day when Jason and Todd, yet is super busy when Sean is looking for him.

talking of holidays, how come Ches can just decide to stay in Portugal a bit longer? hasn't he got a job? and a flight home booked? must have money to burn.

as for Erica and 'Liz gave me a key', well I have a key to my neighbour's house so I can gather up the mail while theyre away, doesn't mean I just let myself in when I fancy it

ETA - although I'm sure the producers do indeed read this thread as all of a sudden Ches is using a messenging service on the internet rather than a landline

Exactly!

Mind you, it gave Sean a little SL and the chance to overact!

Eileen said Jason is sensitive and caring. Er, it's only a little while ago Jason was chucking Gemma out and Eileen was commiserating with her!

No way was Tony 6 foot 4 and 20 stone.

I am 6 foot 2 and 16.5 stone and built like the proverbial brick **** house.
No fat on me.

I believe that I am taller than Tony but of course could be proved wrong.

Even if he was 6 foot 4, he definitely is not 20 stone in weight.

Also, it is a fact that everybody looks bigger onscreen.

I remember it being explained once why this is the case, but can't remember.
