wikipedia says Rebecca Callard took her stepdad's name when she was about 12 in 1989, so presumably this was before she was an actress anyway. It also says she was born Rebecca Atkinson which was apparently was Bev's married name to her husband that she divorced before Rebecca was even born (not her dad), so possibly not surprising she didn't want to keep a surname that didn't have anything to do with her?

or she could have have just thought it sounded good, yes
Rebecca Callard first appeared on tv in series one of childrens ward in 1989 as rebecca atkinson. she had an easy part, she was in a coma for most of it

Rather a complicated life story.

Glad to see Anna & Kevin together. I think she is a great actress and hope she gets some happy storylines for a change, without the dreadful Faye!
"Oooooo Kevin, let me see your greasy wrench"

"Only if you let me see your sticky buns, Anna"

Somebody brought up a point about the factory lot on another forum and how bitchy and not so nice they are.

In the Rovers when the whole Johnny thing came out, apparently Beth and Sean were smirking away during the fight between the Connor family. This poster pointed out how they should empathise more as Sean didn't know his dad and Craig's dad was absent.

This is the problem, every time a fight kicks off these same characters have the same reactions, smirking and gossiping. Has any of them shown any actual concern apart from just trying the gossip? It really does make them unpleasant, and surely they are a bit old for this kind of behaviour?

You're not kidding. Why she doesn't use her birth dads surname isn't disclosed!

Izzy was smirking too or at least pulled a stupid face, can't really tell with her. You'd think that she'd be sympathetic too seeing as her dad kept a big secret about her mother from her that kept her out of their life for so long.

I've never understood this desperate need in Soaps to 'confess' after a drunken one-night stand. Normal behaviour would be, 'let's pretend it never happened and move on'

'Ty! Stop it. Hope doesn't want to hear you and get all stressed out,' said Fiz or summat similar to Tyrone in her most annoying, whiny voice.

Round at Roy's, Michelle is in her roles as Carla's sidekick and Connor businessperson extraordinaire. We know this because Carla is talking about her favourite subject - herself and how bad her life is and Michelle has some files on the table showing us how clever she is as she can clearly multi-task.

Back in the Rovers, there's a Connor behind the bar, a Connor in front of the bar, Connors in a booth and a Connor coming through the door! And see how clever Michelle is? Apart from running another business and listening to Carla's latest woes, she can also run a pub.

Meanwhile, at the hospital, Tyrone is having a meltdown at the drinks machine, Fiz is shouting and whining and the same bloke who took Hope to theatre is trying to deal with it all. Will he also be doing the op?

Who the hell goes off minus one sock?

Not watched it yet, but did he know he only had one sock when leaving?

I hope it was clean.

Cathy seems remarkably chipper for a woman who, in the last week, has found out her beloved late husband had an affair with her sister; and been rescued from a fire which severely damaged her house. Here she is now cheerily making fish pie without so much as a hoarse throat.

And no doubt her house will now just get forgotten and she will move to the street permanently and live with Roy in his tiny flat.

One of my pet hates happened in two consecutive scenes tonight i.e. convenient sightings/overhearings

Kevin and Anna were seen in a cab by Tim
Mary walked in on Dev at the exact moment he was discussing her "boyfriend".

I can't understand how Cathy - someone who hoarded everything and was angry and upset when Tyrone tried to tidy a small section of her lounge, is perfectly fine with a load of that hoarded stuff going up in smoke.

Tracy and Todd eating there AGAIN

Carla getting f**king married there???!!!

And Anna and Kevin decided to bravely venture outside the street to drink elsewhere.

So, Tyrone's car had problems, which apparently was head gasket failure.

Fizz suggested that Luke could fix it, and Ty said "it'll cost more than the car is worth". Not entirely sure what the car was, but looked to be something like a 10 year old Focus. You can get a head gasket set for them for around £40, but the thing that makes a job like this expensive, and thus "more than the car is worth" is the time it takes and thus a huge bill for labour.

Hang on though, er, isn't Ty a mechanic and doesn't he part own a garage? So, he could do it himself and it would only cost for the parts! And, as garage owner, he could probably get the gasket set for around £20, only four times more than Fizz wanted to spend on a magazine

They don't seem to research anything these days.

The program is just a joke now. I can't enjoy it anymore as I am looking for the faults and there are many. Absolute bloody disgrace.

How the hell does the bistro get a good review? Food is constantly being brought back because it's not cooked right, The waitresses/bar staff have ocassional meltdowns and shout and scream infront of everyone, they are constantly seen to be talking instead of actually working and the chef is more often than not in the eating area instead of the kitchen.

revenge forgotten

Maybe if people stopped talking to Hope like she's a 2 year old then she might just grow out of toys that are suitable for 2 year olds.

I can swear that Tyrone used to be a sympathetic character, now he's just selfish and still can't see why he can't just park infront of the ambulance drop-off area without picking up a fine.

That's BGT week sorted then, a 5 second flick through a calendar and Carla decides to get married on that week because why not? Don't have to consult each other's calendar to see if anything else important is happening that week (not that there would be Bethany's GCSE exams aside, but she doesn't even care enough about school to turn up).

Anna and Kevin left the flat without locking up.

If he wedding's in the bistro, who's going to be doing the cooking and service? Wouldn't nick invite the staff as guests?

If he doesn't, there won't be many on his side. Or on Carla's come to think of it.

It's just depressingly dull, dull, dull. Really boring, same-old same-old, repetitive shite they keep churning out. Characters either sleep with each other or argue, the scriptwriters write the really good actors crap, and elevate the really poor ones to something they aren't.

I know some smart aleck is going to respond to my criticisms with a 'Turn over/watch something else,' but why should I? I don't even intentionally try to find faults anymore, they just show up. And it's not even like I watch it religiously, it's just background viewing in my house.

The Carla saga is tedious. She builds up the energy to confess about the affair, and then in the second part we get another false reveal. Awful! She decides to set a date for her wedding which conveniently falls on BGT week. Yawn!!!! Why can't she have her big day in February and be done??? Why must Carla Barla depress us all the way to May and June? And her cosy chats with Michelle do nothing to convince us they are pals!! Fake, contrived, unnatural.

Nothing new to say about Tyrone and Fiz. Hideous characters, awful pair with no chemistry, and lack the warmth that made Jack and Vera so special. Don't care about little Hope and their financial woes because the story has been stupidly slanted to give the Weatherfield hillbillies more air time. And no episode can be complete with dullards Sinead and Chesney!

Kevin and Anna sneaking about, and who was there to catch them snogging their faces off?

Everyone seems to have an opinion on Mary's "affair" with Brendon! Bloody hell, how considerate of them. I sense it's not going to end well and Rita will just boast about how she was right.

I thought Todd had ambitions, why does he continue settling for second best and being Tracyluv's gay BFF??

I get more pleasure watching cartoons then an episode of Corrie. And so does my mind. Sally and Tim aside, they really need to work on their partnerships. And I don't mean marital ones.

And how does he explain that to his wife when he gets home? If my OH returned home with one sock I sure would notice

They met in the bistro, dated in the bistro, got engaged in the bistro and are now getting married in the bistro. Carla's also bonked the chef from the bistro behind his back and when the truth comes out no doubt it will be done publicly in the bistro.
