I am not sure that yesterday's episodes were depicting events on Bank Holiday Monday. Thursday's episode was the day after the wedding, ie Monday 23rd May. Yesterday's eps appeared to be taking place the day after that.
Corrie has lost all sense of chronology after last week.
This is just what I was going to say on here. Corrie often messes up the chronology of days. I wonder what month, or even year, we'd really be on if timings they present to us were actually reflected.

I am warming up to the character, especially some of the stuff she comes out with like saying Callum got her a guinea pig. Hopefully she remains beyond this storyline somehow.
I really hope they can find a way of keeping Gemma in Corrie especially now that Kylie is leaving - she is a brilliant actress and has great timing and has the same kind of background as Kylie.

I do actually think that's why Gemma got introduced, as a way to replace Kylie of sorts. Maybe split the dead end boring couple of Sinead and Chesney

What a brilliant read this thread has been, I've "only" read about 100 pages but some comments really did make me LAUGH OUT LOUD.

I find it hard to believe that just a few days after being hurled into the air by Carla's car, Cathy is home from hospital with just a few artfully applied grazes, being her usual perky self and seemingly untraumatised by the accident. Similarly Fiz is wobbling down the street, simpering and baby-voicing as normal, despite being in the passenger seat of Ty's truck as it planted itself in Gail's grannexe. I know us Northern women are made of stern stuff but even so...
When I saw the way Cathy was hurled about like a rag doll after being hit, I thought she had been killed or would at least be in a coma for weeks but no there she is with a few cuts and bruises and a bit sore (!!!!) and ordering sandwiches for her lunch. As if,

Whereas not that long ago Carla (remember her? ) was "hurled" out of a "speeding" car and despite rolling like a stunt-woman, was hospitalised for seemingly ages. Was she in a coma? I forget as so many characters seem to end up that way.

"Fans were reduced to tears when Carla fled the cobbles in order to start a new life in Devon"

Yeah, right!
I breathed a sigh of relief when Carla left, glad to see the back of her bad acting, "face blank and expressionless" and no more having to listen to her rough unfeminine voice
I agree. And it's a shame because Carla was one of my favourite characters. When she was with Peter I liked her, and I have always thought of her as a sassy and interesting character, but this past year I have really gone off her!

Glad to see her gone now.

Didn't Phil and Sharon's wedding day also last for ages?

EE are still much better at planning though and seem to put a lot more effort into every aspect of the soap. Corrie might have five eps per week compared to EE's four but how much difference in air time is it? Corrie only runs for something like 22 minutes per ep because of ad breaks. EE don't have ad breaks.

Corrie - 5 eps x 22 minutes = 110 mins

EE - 4 eps x 28 minutes = 112 minutes

That's just a guess at running times. Anyone know the actual times?
EE is exactly 30 min, corry is 22m 15s

so EE's four 30 minutes equals 2 hours a week

corry's five 22m 15s equals 1h 51m 15s

so you get an extra 9 mins 45 secs of EE even with one episode less a week

I've also warmed to Gemma now but at first I didn't like her. She is a great little actress and she can be quite funny. I read an interview with her a few months back and she seems like she's loving being in Corrie.

I didn't know Kylie was leaving. Is it just a temporary thing for maternity leave or something or has she quit for good?

She is taking to the open road soon with the old hack on the harley. True romance will do that. His wife's ashes must be swirling in her urn.

So EE output is more with one less ep per week. So we can't really blame the lack of quality on 5 eps per week.

Yes, the houses are at an angle. Ty came from the direction of the bistro and that would make it even more difficult for him to drive straight into the garage!

EE Episodes are rarely 30, usually 28-29, this month lots of 29's, Corrie has ranges from 22-23 It changes from week to week.

........

Norris talking about how it got into the garage had me in stitches, Not the first time they've had someone point out a SOR.

Gemma IS a younger Beth!!

The new auto garage is annoying me, It must be bleeding money if they only just hired that 1 old man, Are they just using it just for parking?

In the real world they would have moved the office into it and use the old one for car washing, but as its close to the factory they keep using it so Sophie can bump into everyone.

Have wee seen even 1 car being worked on in there?

Brilliant actress! You are kidding? It's like amateur hour whenever she comes on. Her OTT comedy schtick- which mainly consists of shouting and gurning and reciting her lines parrot fashion- is bad enough. But,whenever she has to do anything remotely serious- like respond to Callum's death, it's just cringe making.

Didn't she have her spleen removed? I can't remember as it seems like a soap favourite for emergency surgery - Debbie in Emmerdale after the helicopter crash and Sharon in Eastenders after she was beaten up.

Someone posted earlier and said the old man is leaving town with Kylie as soon as he gets his Harley tuned up. He is leaving his beloved wife behind.

No worries - great minds as they say!

Must have been because they know Jason is a builder, and realised it was him from those special "Builder's Boots" he wears, that probably no real-life builder would touch with a bargepole....
Ughh, those builder's boots are truly vile....his feet most absolutely stink wearing those heavy, clumpy things all the time

Why do families on Corrie always go round in packs? The Connors go round in a pack. Last night the Platts were in a pack and the Grimshaws all came round the corner in a pack. Is that realistic?

And does anyone really give a sh!te about Norris and his roof tiles?
When I saw the Platt and Grimshaw packs walking across the cobbles towards each other, I half expected them to start clicking their fingers and breaking out into a dance like the Sharks and the Jets.

I said more or less the same thing a month or so ago, it just doesn't make sense that Kevin, Ty and Luke all cram together in the one workshop together where only one car can be worked on at a time, when they are supposed to have another workshop only a few feet away.

That's why I took a guess at 28 mins for EE. It's still longer per week than Corrie and EE bother about quality. Corrie is a slapped out and sloppy production.

They are alike and much as I like Gemma, Corrie does not need another Beth. The street is already full of nutjobs, weirdos and ditzy bints etc.

The thing about Gemma, is that I dont think I can forget her beating up David and being horrible to Bethany, any more than I can forget about the vile things Tracey, Eileen and Fiz have done.
