My thoughts exactly. Presumably if it's over a year, and I think it is or must be by now, they would have contacted her to renew. Or she is paying by direct debit so would have the name? Would she not have found out anyway because it would be something that most people would think to check, however long it is since he died?
Or possibly not if you're 12 years old as I assume most of the scriptwriters are.

She's probably mot insured and will abandon the house - as Mary has abandoned her motor home - so she can move into Roy's pokey flat and live on the street the way every character has to. Though I think she's got her feet firmly under his table anyway at this point.

Don't forget the Tiny fireman who had a perfectly lovely house which he left to live in Eileen's hovel and it was never mentioned again.

As did both Andrea and Mandy before moving in with Lloyd
Oh wait... Then they would be living away from the street |

Now Anna and Kev are together, any bets on when we'll have the much-loved and oft repeated standard Corrie scene entitled:
'We're going to have sex.' The one where we get immature giggling, running upstairs and a big dose of over-acting? BTW I note this was done quite recently with Mary and Mr Missing-Sock. Is it too soon for a repeat with Fishwife and the Missing-Link? |

Andrea and Neil seemed to have a pretty nice house and after Neil finally buggered off, she could have had the place to her and Lloyd instead of his flat.
Oh wait... Then they would be living away from the street ETA - not to mention the possibility of some pleasant neighbours who may even keep their noses out of your business |

Just catching up on Monday's episodes. Had to smile when Carla suggested "the fourth week in May" for the wedding. Somebody may as well have piped up, "Britain's Got Talent live finals week? Ideal!"

Well quite. Why would you want anything as meaningless as say, a garden, a seperate kitchen and dining room and a bit of space when you can live on the Street?
ETA - not to mention the possibility of some pleasant neighbours who may even keep their noses out of your business |

This one is a bit late because we are 1.5 weeks behind in the US but Brendan showing up on NYE at the Rovers for Mary is a big SOR. Mary is the side chick and every body knows side chicks don't get the real holidays.
These are side chick's holidays: 1. Valentines Day- February 13th 2. 4th of July (US only) 3rd of July 3. Thanksgiving (US only) the day before Thanksgiving 4. Christmas (December 26th) This might get pushed to the 27th for the UK since Boxing Day is celebrated 5. New Years Eve (December 30th) |

Surely that irritating giggle/chortle thing that Mary uttered would be enough to cool the fiercest of ardour in any male?
Perhaps this is a brilliant new Corrie addition to the much-loved and oft repeated standard Corrie scene. The mad laugh! You know if it was Eileen, they'd be taking a plate of bacon butties too like she did when she was with Tiny. Ty and Fiz probably need a vast supply of bacon barms to chomp down before, during and after..........![]() Sex on Corrie; immature giggling, Mary's irritating chortle thing, Eva's mad laugh, Liz's open flap, a plate of bacon butties, running upstairs and a big dose of over-acting. |

. All we need is for the next cliche - Carl is pregnant by Robert and Nick overhears them talking about it - because soap characters always discuss everything in public places.

Yes, exactly! Also, I would bet that if Ken and Audreh get together ( which is a dead cert), she will leave her lovely spacious house in Grasmere Dr. and move into Ken's poky house with Uncle Albert's old furniture, sharing with Tracy, Amy, Simon and Tracy's latest boyfriend, can see it happening, as Audreh is the only character left who lives away from the street, and it just can't go on!
![]() I do love reading this thread, it's so much more interesting than the actual programme. CS has become a joke and an insult to those faithful viewers who have stuck by it for the past 30 years or so. The script writers should be ashamed of themselves taking money for writing such sh*te and destroying what was once such a well loved soap. |

Why do Kevin and Anna have to keep their date a secret? It's another soap cliché - turn something into a secret in order to create drama. But there is no need to do this at all. The excuse was they were hiding it from Sally but she's married to someone else and has no possible reason to object, and if she does, so what?

I almost spat out my afternoon glass of white wine reading your comment, it made me laugh so much, but it was also to the point and shows how abysmal the story lines have become.
