In the real world, the neighbours would be scoffing at the over the top nature of the whole thing, even if they had a lot of sympathy for little Hope. I know I would be.

What happened to all the food that Anna bought for her Christmas Dinner? She didn't take it with her to Sallys did she?
What a waste of food! |

What is the point of Sinead now she's been Chesney-fied? She used to be a lively, independent woman before she became Chesney's girlfriend. Now she's dull, dopey and works at the factory along with all the other epislons. Corrie decided that Ty couldn't have a girlfriend like Maria and that Chesney couldn't have a girlfriend like Katie. So now Ty is stuck with Fiz and Chesney is stuck with dumbed-down Sinead. Ches bought Sinead a vegetable chopper for Christmas? I wonder what she'll chop with it first? ![]()

Dear oh dear
What do I start? This episode was a nitpicker's dream! Was this claptrap an attempt by Stuart Blackburn to achieve his ultimate dream of a complete plausibility vacuum? Also it seemed really odd somehow it didn't seem to fit comfortably with previous episodes. Presumably the snow was real. (There was a snow machine in a previous episode but presumably they wouldn't have gone to the trouble of making snow in the Barlow's back yard!) Is Salford the only non-mountainous part of the UK that seems to get snow on Christmas day every year? No-one's breath seemed to freeze either... (Ironically the "real" temperature was about 15 degrees - almost exactly the same as "Portugal".) The "Lapland" thing was ridiculous. It looked far too much to look plausible, Did they get permission to close off the street? Hope didn't even seem that bothered. And you just knew she'd say she wanted to be better (though I didn't count on the astoundingly ungrammatical way she said it). Tim and Sally were great as always, sullied only by the worst double entendre in soap history, I can't buy into Mary's bit-on-the-side storyline. She seems to have way too much integrity to see a married man. Not a SOR as such but Todd without a spiteful plot and Simon without knocking around Leanne are wastes of script. After all the tedium of David and Kylie at war again it was sorted in 5 seconds of Kylie giving David a snog in the Rovers. Robert waits to spend time alone with Tracy to confront her over Rob. Then waits and asks this bombshell question in the middle of the Rovers. How many times is Rob gonna get away with using that sodding phone? Are the prison officers distracted with Jim "The Landlord" McDonald's hooch operations? I know they're not bosom buddies to put it mildly, but why was Leanne acting like Tracey was her worst enemy. And that scene wins the award for most unrealistic snowball of the year. (Also where did Simon go?) The surprise ring being mixed up and seen by someone else is a horrible cliché The Anna and Kevin about to kiss and being interrupted - again is a horrible cliché Nessa being bribed by a child to keep a trivial secret rounds up a hat trick of horrible chichés. Buses running on Christmas day in heavy snow. Billy is the only vicar that spends Christmas day in the pub with his boyfriend drinking chinzano. (You'd have thought him and Emily would be running some drop in centre for the needy in the community centre (perhaps along with Yazmeen and Christian Sophie??)) How much leave from the Army does Caz get? (You just KNOW she'll be discharged and working in some menial job in the street in the not too distant future.) Did no-one think of picking Jake up from Izzy's to see the Lapland? |

Isn't it unrealistic that NOBODY stood up for Tracey when Robert deliberately humiliated her in public.
Not even her own father? Or Emily?

^ ^ Almost cringed when Robert decided to humiliate Tracy. Very out of character, and annoying how Liz and the others were ready to pounce. Like I said in Part 9, why would Ken decide to chuck Tracy out for visiting her ex in prison and do nothing because of her part in the Victoria Court fire? Can't hide behind the grieving excuse. I think the ping pong thing could be the silliest SL ever
![]() Seriously, Sinead gets on my fecking t*ts. A free-spirited, quirky lass, turned into a dimwitted, annoying madam. The whole ring mix-up scene was uncomfortable viewing. |

Yeah, I can't see why they'd be happy at the humiliation of someone who speaks to them like crap all the time. Don't understand it at all.
![]() And it's just as annoying to see Tracy give it to others than it is to see others make digs. |

Very rude and ignorant of them to listen in to a lover's tiff in complete silence, I don't know where they get their manners from. If that was me, I would carry on speaking to the person beside me and I would expect everyone else to do the same : it's a public house, not a sitting room containing only family members. |

I don't like Fiz and so don't much like the Hope SL but isn't it unrealistic that a child (or anyone) going through chemotherapy would have a full head of hair and look so healthy? Obviously, I'm not expecting them to shave the hair off a child actor, but they should have thought about this before deciding on this SL.

Not even her own father? Or Emily? Those in the pub were all long-term neighbours who have either been at - or, witness to- the wrong end of her tongue. Her own ( step) father knows her the best of all. He may love her - but I doubt that he likes her. He will forgive her, though. What else can he do - he has to consider Amy... Her selfish machinations always involve & hurt other people. Unfortunately, I know a, 'real-life' Tracy. She has caused so much pain !! IMO, Kate Forde is a brilliant actress

Maybe they had it the next day, or Anna could have frozen it all.
