Apart from Steph having, ever, a single expression and single tone of voice, the whole scene was just silly.

Steph interrupting, deciding to call the arsonist in to "mediate", to the agreement that Nick would buy a 50% share.

I've no idea how many management decisions need to made in running a restaurant, but it must run into hundreds a day. How can equal partners make joint decisions?

And how do they deal with problems with the staff? They'd both need to be involved.
Maybe Leanne , who is a professional, wants to make it clear if they are equal partners they both pony up when she torches the place. If they don't agree she will just torch the half at a discounted rate. Which ones half is a management decision they need to make.

This occurred to me too Janet.
If it is an electric shower, which would be very likely in this type of property, and it is fed directly from the mains water supply, any interruption to the supply would cause an instant rise in temperature. Can cause scalding in serious cases.
What an awful thing to happen to poor Phelan, boo hoo! Naughty Todd.

I know full well that my memory is not as good as it used to be, but can anyone explain why Leanne is referred to as an arsonist? I cannot recall her ever starting fires.

Are pressure balanced showers not a requirement by law?

Turning the taps on and making the shower go cold? That's an ancient gag, it was hardly invented by The Simpsons...
Not to comedic effect though...

I don't like Steph at the best of times but she really annoyed me tonight! Why the hell was she standing around listening to her boss's conversation with Nick??? It's NONE of her business, can you really see a boss allowing his staff to do that? And she also kept butting in, how rude! And as for that permanent frown UGH.

Rant over
So how soon will it be before Leanne and Nick are back at the bistro? Will Steph still have her face set in a permanent frown? Will Andy do something like move, speak, act....do anything instead of standing there looking like a plank? And how soon will Zeedan be reinstated?

Would it be easier and quicker to list the non annoying characters?

We have the strong female bitchy entrepreneur airhead stereotypes
We have the male panto villian dumb henpecked stereotypes
We have the seniors caring nosey interferring stereotypes
We have the Barlows/MacDonalds/Platts
We have the pregnancy secret
We have the past secret
We have the factory
We have an octogenarian up a mountain in Peru

Nuff said

A similar scene has been done in the Simpsons way before it was done in Corrie, maybe that's where Corrie get their inspiration from for stories.
Corrie have nicked stuff from Dad's Army and other TV progs.

But he did have a pram and Fizz!
Pram = cart? Fiz = horse aka the old nag!

Leanne used to have a restaurant. She got the Duckies' grandson, to torch it for the insurance money.

Has johnny bought carla's flat? In the space of two days? Or has he merely usurped it?

An electric shock for him might have been better both for him and whoever told him to sing as deliberately bad as he did.

I suppose someone thought it funny if he made an awful racket that could be heard throughout the house. Perhaps even a viewer.

Last night's episode was so contrived, with little incidents all making Eva misunderstand the flat situation - you could see the levers moving and the engine groaning.

Wouldn't you think that by now Corrie characters would know never to arrange a surprise event? It always goes horribly wrong, with someone getting the wrong end of the stick and jumping to daft conclusions.

TBH it would have been better if she'd been eavesdropping from the kitchen and called Leanne on the sly.

Thanks for that, I cannot recall that at all, mind you I have problems remembering what happened last Monday, so no wonder actions 10 years ago are completely forgotten!

It may bring it all back when you see her disconnecting the gas pipe. Probably using the same pipe wrench that laid Callum low. She will have a time delay device to set it off. Her alibi will be Simon who will swear she was with him in the apartment throwing up because she's heavy with child.

Now now, remember Leanne is the greatest manager ever and the Bistro will suffer without her, even though the likes of Nick and Robert are better experienced in running a business (but are only crap when the plot requires it). Leanne is so great in fact nobody else will have her except these two.

I believe I did see Alex in last night's episode but he was in the background. Didn't notice Cathy though.

Does it make it any quicker that he said it was his for the asking? Maybe Carla said he could have it and just the legal documents of change of ownership need to be done. He has moved in pending this.

Practising I think, though you never see him off to Friday prayers. It's ok for him to cook non halal food - he just can't eat it

His girlfriend is bit of a goer who put plenty of stuff on a plate for the chef.

I cannot imagine there are many young men who are quite relaxed about many religious rules but so strict when he it comes to a leg over.

Its a fundamental part of the religion. I think it was good that they showed it.

I don't think it really matters, the whole point of it was to make Eva go off on one over the mistake and go blubbering to Leanne, so it can lead into
Spoiler
