Really?

Why aren't sexually active men taking some of the responsibility by wearing condoms? That way there would have less unwanted pregnancies and less STD.”

because then there would be unwanted pregnancy stories and none of the soaps are sponsored by durex

No real concept of time.

A lot characters bumping to each other to trigger scenes.

Sex, sex, and more sex.

What has become of this once great soap.

The amount of misunderstandings is becoming so overdone, just any excuse for a conflict and characters overacting.

Eva believes the flat was for her and Aidan, but it wasn't so she goes off on a strop.

Luke ended up buying the wrong flowers, so then Kate could act over the top and cause a scene in the pub.

Nick thinks Leanne wants Robert, which is obviously been done to ignite their feud further. And good to see that despite being a wreck, drinking, losing his license and looking rough Robert has bounced back again. Wonderful Leanne has really worked her magic.

Also, twice tonight we had two characters shouting down an intercom in the flat, only to find out they made a mistake and it is someone else. Who acts like that in real life?

It's repeated stuff like this that is making the show hard to watch. It is hard to care for any of the characters as they are all so over-dramatic.

As someone pointed out in the main episode thread, we saw the Bistro staff cashing up but it was still light outside

Also Eva was about to knock at Maria's door looking for Aidan when Phelan interrupted her. How did Eva know Aidan would be there unless she was just trying possible locations where he could be. However that wouldn't make sense either as Aidan himself said to Maria why hadn't he ever spoken to Maria properly before so why would Eva presume he was there?

I guess it was meant to be a heartwarming scene, but Aidan does remember that Tracy blackmailed his half-sister for months and basically set out to ruin her wedding? Then again, Johnny seemed to forget as he actually bought flowers from Tracy's shop, despite his apparent care for Carla and threatening to ruin Tracy. Good to see that amnesia Weatherfield residents get when it comes to her schemes is still in effect.

True. But it isn't just a woman's responsibility as suggested to deal with contraception.

Like Aidan said does Eva ever leave him alone for second? She is constantly phoning, texting and tonight she left the Rovers to go and look for him. Even when they are at the factory she takes him lunch and is in his face fawning all over him.

No wonder Aidan had a quickie with Maria. Eva is a pain in the arse.

Let's not forget Sophie Webster who had to follow Kate to the Rovers and hang around like a praying mantis. We all know Sophie has gone upmarket now that she is a boss and super business woman and has had to ditch her soup kitchen wardrobe but what the hell was that awful orange thing she was wearing?

Not sure really. Never thought about it. I just hate Maria and Luke. Probably coz I can't stand Luke.

ALSO, regarding EVA. I know it's nice to make an effort and look nice, but why does she always look like she's going to a wedding?

Most people I know hang about in their spare time in jeans, slacks, leggings, t-shirts, jumpers, but Eva ALWAYS looks like this!

Thank goodness for this forum. I swear I watched Corrie last night but honestly had forgotten most of it. I mostly watch recorded episodes through a rose wine haze which could account for it. I do remember Robert's amazing recovery from hitting the bottle and the ghastly closeups of Nick as Robert & Leanne were flirting. Tiresome & contrived, as per usual.

Stupid carnation/rose wars. Has Mother Conner been mentioned before? It's certainly the first anniversary/birthday thing we have ever seen mourned by so many when the dead character has never appeared apart from beloved Sadie from the hairdressers.

It did make me laugh that Caz was holding a dog leash with obviously nothing on the end of it. I suppose they are reminding us that Ozzie exists before the sad demise.

I see Gemma is becoming the new comedic character. Another personality transplant taking place before our very eyes.

... and finally, as has been said often, please tone down the tan shades, makeup and designer clothes. The actresses MUST have clauses in their contracts to say they mustn't appear as ordinary folk from a working class Street in the North.

Let's get real Producers, pretty please.

Yes, also daylight when Aiden left Maria's and when the Bistro staff came outside after locking up. Shockingly poor production values.

Not to mention the Botox and implants which might be commonplace for actresses but not the characters they play.

Tracey seems to had a mask on last time she appeared.

because to the writers she has perv appeal, there to lust at, subliminal objectifying of women and not seeing the real person behind the image. Unlike corry of old which had Bet, beautiful as she was, in her drab, first thing in the morning, or any other woman of that era

today's writers must have women perpetually beautiful, even if they are dieing of gastro enteritis or something

Give him some credit, he's going to pork her for her pain. I would do the same if it wasn't for the migraine headaches I'm prone to. Ginger nuts is to be applauded.

Yes Gary made a big sacrifice to spare Izzie's feelings. Just like his dozy trollop of a crap mom

Just watching last night's first offering ...

Where does Eva get the cash for the constant costume changes?
Eva: That laugh is not funny and well overused.
The "hilarious" olive mistake regurgitated.
Luke's flowers mistake telegraphed - in case we aren't bright enough to spot it coming.
Random selection of people at Izzy's party.
Nick's constant gurning.
Gemma's constant screeching and ridiculous Good Samaritan story - is it normal to actively tout an award?

Shoot me now!!!

I forgot to mention them!

The scene/s where Izzy was whizzing around trying to get Gary to go to bed were both hideous and hilarious.

This. ^^^

There was a point at which Eva was a good character and she had real promise. Now she's just as you say; a very silly, shallow character who Corrie keep around for the blonde hair and tits factor. That's why she also has a job in the Rovers. But let's not forget Eva was putting her make-up on in last night's ep. Except that she had layers and layers of it already plastered on.

We saw Bet with make-up off and on. We saw the sad sides of Bet's life. Bet was a character with some depth. Eva is Corrie's glamour girl and nothing more. Michelle is another one they love to promote as gorgeous. It's laughable as they are not even the best looking women in Corrie. Maria and Kate are both very attractive. Not that being attractive should have anything to do with being in Corrie.

Exactly the point I made. And Eva's the worst. When she leaves the house to go to work or to the corner shop, (or just to rant at Aiden!) she dresses like she is going to a prom or a wedding or something. I very rarely dress like that, unless it's a special occasion, and neither does anyone I know.

Again, someone else pointing out the daft way the (younger) women are often dolled up to the nines!

And Gemma yes, becoming a sweet liekable character, after being a hoodlum! Why does this always happen?!

Also hate the silly not-flirting between Leanne and Robert. If Nick is THAT jealous that he can't stand Leanne having a bit of banter with a workmate, then he should NOT be in a relationship with her.

And yeah the stupid carnation/rose thing; pathetic. Why is Kate so utterly vile to Caz now? She was in love with her wasn't she???

Gemma can be irritating at the best of times but in yesterday's two episodes she seemed to turn the irritation level up to 11. She was so OTT. The way she spoke to Dev in the shop, the way she was with Rita. I know we are supposed to find it 'hilarious' but I did not laugh once. I just cringed at the signposted hilarity.
