Bethany looks so much better without all that muck on her face and lips. Infact she looks more like a teenager. It seems like she has been given a personality transplant.

I remember Leanne and Toyah stealing. They realised it was Les's birthday and they'd not got him a present, so they pinched a power drill out of a builder's van.... We've also had Tyrone appearing initially as a rogue, then reforming. Fizz too I think. And more recently down and out Becky, down and out Maddy, and gangster's Moll Kylie
Rolly Eye Smiley, Rolly Eye Smiley, wherefore art thou Rolly Eye Smiley? Kate is like a woman possessed with her vitriol towards Caz. Of course, it's all to make St Sophie look good before they inevitably get them together as a couple (something we predicted in this very thread the moment it was revealed that Kate was a lesbian). Eventually this relationship will go horribly wrong of course, and then Kate will leave, and Sophie will wait to stalk the next handy lesbian moving onto The Street Rolly Eye Smiley, Rolly Eye Smiley, wherefore art thou Rolly Eye Smiley? I know it's been mentioned, but I've also got to comment on the bizarre timing. What the heck is going on? Leanne is locking up the bistro, wearing those awful clumpy high heels - another aspect of the over-dressing of the female characters. [Note to writers - women who work all day/evening on their feet wear the most comfortable shoes they can find.] The speed dating, which provoked all the Leanne/Robert banter and much scowling from Nick, is over, with lots of drink bought, apparently. But it's broad daylight, 8 o'clock at the latest.
Surely it's easier to get this right than wrong? |

I see Gemma is becoming the new comedic character. Another personality transplant taking place before our very eyes.

And Gemma yes, becoming a sweet liekable character, after being a hoodlum! Why does this always happen?!
I like her.

It did make me laugh that Caz was holding a dog leash with obviously nothing on the end of it. I suppose they are reminding us that Ozzie exists before the sad demise.

We saw Bet with make-up off and on. We saw the sad sides of Bet's life. Bet was a character with some depth.[/quote]
I wonder if the situation of always being dressed up is due to the production crew or to the vanity of individual diva actresses. It is easy to see some being obsessed with their 'celebrity status' and insisting to be seen at their best whereas the one who played Bet was quite happy to be seen warts and all if the scene demanded it. It say more about the character of the actress herself than the character of the character, if that makes sense. Whatever the reason it is a complete suspension of reality that working class women should be turned out so expensively out at home, work or leisure. Some of those clothes alone must take a significant chunk out of a minimum wage pay packet if not exceeding it. |

If you consider Bet over the years, her 'look' and the types of outfits she wore changed as she got older and her status grew. There was very much a sense that her way of dressing was a facade, which slipped at times of vulnerability. Nowadays, that barrier just doesn't exist. I know we live in an age of disposable, cheaper fashions with shops like Primark, but the fact that so many of the female characters always look so fashionable (especially when they never leave the Street to go shopping) is a total SOR. |

Perhaps having Eva dressed up to the nines all the time is down to Catherine Tyldesley's hard work losing weight and wanting to keep the new image. Hard to believe that she was size 22 and weighed 15 stone in 2014. Picture of her before weight loss about halfway down the page:

She wasn't a size 22 and 15 stone in 2014 as she has been in Corrie approx 5 years and she has never been that big since she's been on the show. Did you mean to type 2004?
Still hard to believe it's the same person. |

If they had bumped into each other while both were separately out getting drunk and Leanne then invited Steve back to her place to continue the drinking at hers then I would have bought it.
However he seemed to have randomly turned up at her flat without a prior invitation even though they were not particularly close so why would he head to her flat in the first place? As someone else said did he think to himself that Leanne used to be the town bike so if I just turn up she's not going to turn me down as she's fair game |

Give him some credit, he's going to pork her for her pain. I would do the same if it wasn't for the migraine headaches I'm prone to. Ginger nuts is to be applauded.

Just watching last night's first offering ...
Eva: That laugh is not funny and well overused. The "hilarious" olive mistake regurgitated. Luke's flowers mistake telegraphed - in case we aren't bright enough to spot it coming. Quite liked the olive ref, I must admit. Wasn't there a similar thing with Deirdre's belts? A little nod to long-time viewers. Quote:

I dont believe an actress would have that kind of clout on a long running soap like corrie. Nobody is bigger than the show, and if an actress was making demands on their look/clothes etc they wouldnt last very long. More likely to be the other way round, the program dictates how a character looks and the actor has to live with it in real life, eg kevin and his mustache |

Me too. Sarah and Harry are staying there again. So Gail has a room, Max and Lily must be sharing, and Sarah and Harry have a room. Bethany must be staying in Nick's still or with Audrey it's never really made clear...
Funny David's Dad didn't bother his backside coming to his daughter-in-law's funeral. They should really recast Martin. |

Yes they should re-cast him as I can't see Martin giving up his butcher's job IRL.

Now now, remember Leanne is the greatest manager ever and the Bistro will suffer without her, even though the likes of Nick and Robert are better experienced in running a business (but are only crap when the plot requires it). Leanne is so great in fact nobody else will have her except these two.
I believe I did see Alex in last night's episode but he was in the background. Didn't notice Cathy though.

Where does Eva get the cash for the constant costume changes? Eva: That laugh is not funny and well overused. The "hilarious" olive mistake regurgitated. Luke's flowers mistake telegraphed - in case we aren't bright enough to spot it coming. Random selection of people at Izzy's party. Nick's constant gurning. Gemma's constant screeching and ridiculous Good Samaritan story - is it normal to actively tout an award? Shoot me now!!! |

This has always puzzled me, what's so great about Leanne's management skills anyway? The place just hasn't been the same without her. What?
