Well, she did mention it. So that clearly makes it all ok!

How did Steve manage to avoid succumbing to Michelle's will though? She always gets her own way!

Well I remember it, though longer than 20 years ago for me - baby under the arm, shopping, and buggy to fold. What fun. You weren't allowed to take a pushchair on a bus unless it was folded, but these days there are some monster pushchairs around, positively huge.

Anyway, we're well off topic, so to bring it back:

With reference to what ewoodie wrote earlier about Leanne and Nick - I thought it was very silly that we are now expected to believe that they are 'in love' with one another. What happened to Nick's undying love for Carla? And why are they employing the tiresome soap cliché of a secret being kept for no reason other than plot complications yet again? Being pregnant is not a secret that can be kept very long!

Twenty years or more ago younger people were happy to give up their seats for older people, for ladies, for mums and especially for disabled people.

It rarely happens nowadays as many people do not give a monkey's for anyone else but themselves and their coats, briefcases even feet etc across seats on trains as old ladies with walking sticks stand unsteadily in the aisles so younger able bodied people can bury their noses in their mobiles.

It is mainly on the trains I experience this but I just recalled last Sunday when some well dressed man was sitting across two seats marked 'please give up to disabled/elderly passengers'. He was a few yards away and I only had one stop to go at that stage but I feel bad for making excuses and ...... chickening out.

When my son was very small and before I had a car again, I did the same with my son. We went on the bus. I remember practising before I went out! And I did it with a pushchair not a buggy.

The Nick and Leanne in love saga is stupid. So what happened there? Carla left and suddenly Nick was in love with Leanne again? It's not just that though. Leanne pregnant by Steve is stupid. Michelle going to the hospital with Leanne and then wanting her own baby is stupid. Michelle and Leanne both falling almost instantly pregnant is stupid. The whole carry on with Leanne, Steve and Liz is stupid and boring. Will Leanne really leave Coronation Street?

Will both Michelle and Leanne actually have the babies or is this another case of Corrie using pregnancies and then when the SL is over they are conveniently disposed of? Miley must have had her first birthday ages ago yet it wasn't mentioned. Pregnancies and babies are treated like disposable commodities on Corrie. It's disgusting.

On a lighter note, I hope Michelle Connor has triplets. That'll serve her roight and give her summat to moan about!

Don't feel bad ,,, the reaction to (rightly) standing up for oneself is the risk of violence or, at the very least, a tirade of abuse.

I once moved to let a blind person sit in the front seat and they went to the back of the bus.

also saw an old lady have a go at a disabled lad in the front seat as the assume they are just for the elderly.

he showed her his shattered legs held together by pins after a car crash, she soon shut up

My wife (doesn't look old!), needs the use of a walking stick. Many times people have offered her a seat on the London Underground. Before she needed the stick people would offer her a seat; we couldn't work out if they thought she was old or pregnant (nor fat!). She was neither

That'll just be three more people who are lucky to have her.

And no matter how much they scream and cry and need changing and keep up her up all night - her hair and make-up will always be perfect.

Speaking as someone whose daughter had twin boys recently, I'd say that twins would probably do the job.

Mind you, triplets, twins, singleton, you can be sure that she'll still have a face full of make-up at all times, including the flicked-up eyeliner.

Life was so much easier in Ye Olden Days. We misbehaved, went too far, were told off and then we behaved........ Well most of the time.

When Steve got Tracy pregnant, she was expecting twins before she lost them after she fell down the stairs

Coronation Street is not a safe place for pregnant women. The miscarriage / mortality rate must be lowest in the country.

As a matter of interest, how many pregnancies over the past 10 years of Corrie have actually produced a child who is still around and how many didn't?
Still on street

Ruby
Lily
Hope
Liam
Harry

Not on street

Erica x 1
Tracy x 2
Carla x 1
Maria x 1
Becky x 2?
Leanne x 1
Faye x 1

Any more to add?

With nappies and all the other stuff to buy it may well blow Michelle's eyeliner budget!

Michelle will expect Steve to get up in the night as she needs her beauty sleep as she runs three business and she won't be able to hold the baby as she needs to have her arms folded.

Steve will bugger off to Spain again for a few months. Back in Weatherfield Michelle will be round at Maria's, holding an empty mug of coffee and moaning about how Steve has left her with a baby to look after as well as running three businesses on her own. But despite being 'stressed' she will still be in full makeup looking better than ever, and regardless of her claims she won't actually be seen looking after the baby or doing any work, all will be on Liz. Michelle will be too busy folding her arms and having her ego stroked by her followers.

Think a bit of false romanticism about the past has crept in here! I don't think attitudes are any worse now than they were in the 90s. Certainly, as an example, there is far less graffiti on public transport than there was 20 years ago. But way off topic so I'll leave it at that.
