Regarding Lauren, it's very unusual for a bully to do any bullying on their own, usually they are backed up by the gang. Bethany did the right thing by smacking her in the face, should have done it ages ago.
You are correct, although Lauren has had her cronies with her a couple of times. Bethany should have hit her sooner

Also as someone else has mentioned, Bethany's whole education seems to be unbelievably vague. It has seemed that she was going to return to school after her GCSE's but no mention as to whether it was to do A Levels which presumably it was. So if this was the case could she have not gone to another sixth form college to do them, rather than returning to the school to where she is being bullied?

I am sure when Bethany arrived back in Weatherfield she said she would take Italian GCSE as she knew it already. Did she fail that too?

And where was Harry when all the Platts were in the Rovers? Michael was looking after Lilly and Max but no sign of Harry.

He was obviously tucked up in a cot / bed (with a baby alarm beside him), fast asleep.

When Bethany and Sarah returned, Corrie seemed to think that shouts of 'Mamma mia' and a few choruses of 'Just one Cornetto' and we'd all be convinced they'd just arrived back from spending years in Italy enjoying its beauty and its rich culture.

GCSE Italian was probably mentioned in much the same way!

I think they also cooked pasta. Once.

What was all that stuff about putting out the flamin' bins??
For a moment there I thought Tracy was going to find Nick finding Leanne's pregnancy test as they were leaving their rubbish out.

But no. Because people always find the pregnancy tests. So instead, we had Tracy happening upon Nick and Leanne in the Maternity Dept at the hospital.

Why was Gail's hair all fluffy and big in the Rovers scenes, and then all newly trimmed and flat in the Platts' house scenes?
Her hair was remarkably different throughout the day.

Phelan was setting the table for dinner in Eileen's just after breakfast time in Leanne's flat. That casserole was going to be in the oven for many hours.
Nick randomly makes about 15 slices of toast, and a pot of coffee for no one in particular.
And then leaves himself without eating anything. Because people love cold toast.

I thought Michael was actually very good. Maybe if they stopped him yoyoing between the various middle aged women - he might actually be half-decent.

I thought that! It went from early morning with Tracy putting the bins out, to Phelan laying the table and waffling on about the casserole and back to Leanne's flat at breakfast time. Bizaare!

that is because they write the scenes as separate entities, Lilly's birthday, Bethany's exam results, Leanne and Nick , Phelan and Eileen. They dont write them to become a coherent episode set in the same time frame. We only know it was friday the 26th of August because that's Lilly's birthday.
(and mine )

I can't see how the gym will stay open much longer either. There were six women in the Boxercise class. Not even enough to pay the instructor. Also, they seem to be holding the class in the middle of the gym and not in a separate room. Very strange.

Like Bernice in Emmerdale. I love playing spot the roots with her. She will have a good few inches of roots while walking to the Woolpack, then when she enters her hair will have been done and the roots are gone.

That dodgy mate of Phelan's arrived when he was making the casserole and was still there when Eileen got back.

You'd think if Phelan wanted to get into Eileen's good books, he'd have collected her at the airport. But no. Maybe she got a free cab from Streetcars, but if so they should have mentioned that.
And not have us, the viewers, lying awake at night fretting over it...

she did, no wonder she hit the wall,

dad dies when she's a baby, becomes an underaged mum, abducted by an online pervert, step dad leaves, new step dad tries to kill her and her entire family, gets a b/f who turns out gay and snogs her brother, gets pregnant by him and loses the baby

escapes to millan and lives seven years of bliss and happiness

comes back, gets involved with a local druggie who uses her daughter as a mule, threatens to drug rape her, attacks her and gets killed by her SIL, gets dragged into concealing the body under the house, then finds out she's pregnant by dead ex druggie

pretty normal life by soap standards
You forgot that Bethany's father died and his mother kidnapped her and threatened to jump with her from the church tower while Sarah and others tried to persuade her to bring Bethany down without harming her.down.
like there wasn't enough already

ands bethany took ecstasy when she was seven

Also she nearly died when she had her appendix removed in 1994

Alison (Kevin's wife) took Bethany from the hospital after their son Jake died.

Sarah again nearly died and was in a coma after her boyfriend Aidan Critchley was joyriding Ken Barlow's car and left her in the passengers seat after a car crash.

Bethany was electrocuted in Sarah/Todd's new flat.

Her fiancee Jason left her at the altar at their first wedding and when they did eventually get married it ended in divorce.

David sent her a card pretending it's from Richard and also set her wedding dress on fire.
