I might have missed a bit of Corrie tonight.

Caz got robbed in the park. Then she arranged for some bloke to burgle Maria's flat. Is there a link? It the robber in the park the same person as the burglar?
The robber in the park was much younger than Maria's burglar, Caz's robber was school age, same or similar age to his accomplice who claimed he came off his bike

Wasn't that the place murderers and criminals in general meet with someone? Billy's brother used to hang out there, Kylie's murderer lurked there, didn't Callum's heavies do a fair bit of skulking round there and isn't it where Phelan meets all his dodgy mates?

Fagin and his gang are probably concealed somewhere up the ginnel in a secret hideaway!
What is it with criminals who come back to the scene of the crime in Corrie? As you say all the above, after doing their deed, skulk about in that archway/ginnel waiting for their friend who has a connection to The Street to come over and speak to them. In reality the criminal would have disappeared long ago but only in Corrie do they hang about approx 30 metres from the scene of the crime that they committed a few minutes before.

I wondered where Ozzy was but then he was probably asleep after that early morning walk!
I thought Maria called out to Ozzy before she went up the stairs but it still doesn't answer the question as to where he was.

Well that was a well thought out plot, Maria get's burgled, Caz turns up just afterwards, Maria asks her what she is doing there, Caz explains that she just happened to be skulking about outside, Caz gets asked to stay with Maria again, jobs a good un, superb scriptwriting, well worthy of a soap award for that..

well it did, but in the same way treacle flows well

and maria gets burgled on the one night Ozzie has a sleepover in Eccle's kennel

otherwise where was the dog, would it not be barking it's head off at somebody burgling the place
Also she was calling Ozzie when she returned to the flat so she obviously expected the dog to be there, then he was convieniently forgotten. As once again was Liam, earlier she had dropped him at summer club but by evening and bedtime he had not returned, but it's ok she's not bothered about him only being on her own in the flat!!!!

I thought things were supposed to get better with this new person at the helm?

Jeez, it's abysmal.

And since when has Bournemouth been the centre of the textile industry?
It has a very large conference centre, as do a lot of other towns and cities sch a Birmingham, where all sorts happen such as Political party conferences, wedding exhibitions, business conferences, craft shows, .................. and has ferry links to the continent through Poole, which is next door to it so attracts businesses to its events from Europe.

she said Liam was (conveniently) at a sleepover, does not account for the missing dog. mentioned in the outdoor scene, forgot about in all other scenes. Can't they even coherently join up two scenes now?

noticed something rather odd with the whole corry environment

nobody smokes

Wasn't the law on smoking written to include smoking in dramas - that a character could only smoke if it was essential to the character?

Liz used to, but doesn't appear to now.

You come home, the front door's ajar, and the lock's broken off. So what do you do? Obviously, in fantasy land, you go in. In real life you'd call the police.

What's Liz whining on about? She hardly ever sees Amy, and she has a grandchild on the way courtesy of Michelle. She's not exactly the grandmotherly type, anyway.

Wasn't there a daughter, who got pregnant by terry duckworth, and disappeared? Or wasn't she a McDonald? If she was, then neither she nor her child ever get a mention.

What on earth was all that nonsense about watching a film at the factory? How on earth did they smuggle in a projector. And is it even possible to connect a phone to this projector as was suggested. If it is I wouldn't have thought the picture quality would be much good projected on to a sheet!

The girl who got pregnant wasn't a McDonald, but I can't remember what her name was.

Avoiding having Liz as a grandma seems an excellent reason on its own for Leanne to lie about the father; imagine the effect on an innocent baby of having her hatchet face peering into its cot.

More military nonsense concerning Caz.

Caz said she had been living rough for 14 days since being being discharged from the Army. Two weeks ago she was in the process of being ordered out of Maria's house without any mention of the impending court martial date

Since then:

She has been located by the Army and gone back for Court martial, possibly in Cyprus.
Discussed her defence with her Defending Officer.
Found her uniform and other kit.
Attended court martial, been found guilty and sentenced - no punishment, just discharge it seems.
Findings of court martial confirmed by Headquarters.
Returned to unit depot for final discharge procedure.
Might have been entitled to paid terminal leave and resettlement course.
and finally spent two weeks on the Red Rec. Busy girl.

Until her final date of discharge she would have been paid for several months even though doing nothing as she waited far too long for court martial on a relatively simple charge so she should not have been penniless.

The Army are not as heartless as the writers would have us believe in this SOR that lasted about four months.

Aidan becomes the latest in a long line of untrained bar minders at the Rovers and customers do not blink an eyelid.

Liz doesn't have a daughter other than the one she miscarried in the 90s

Didn't notice the ubiquitous sleepover line (do children really stay at other peoples houses so often, when I was a child my brother and I never stayed at anyone's house).

A lot of scenes do not gel together anymore, things are not improving as we had hoped.

Liz now smokes E cigarettes

Wish our local pub was self service like the Rovers. Another episode where nobody was running the pub, Liz, Steve and Mememe helping Leanne move. (Why?),. Eva swanning around with her prey and Sean in the factory, who the hell was in the pub?

Help yourself, just leave the money on the counter!!

The flagrant mistreatment of the Rovers is one of Corrie's major issues these days

Kunta Kinte great reference
We often discuss on here that a character is too young to be familiar with a reference to a time before they were born. The Kunta Kinte reference was qualified by what her mum used to say but she didn't know what it meant. Could this be anther instance of this forum being read by TPTB?

I agree "great reference". I loved Roots.

Eva said she had more roots than Kunte Kinte, but she didn't know who he was - it was something her mom used to say.

Thanks Thumbolina.

Well, we watched 'Roots' at school in around Year 9 and I'm 30 now so it's not inconceivable that Eva would have done the same ...

Pity it has got the 'offended' PC brigade on Corrie's Facebook Page, going on about how racist it is.
