What another ridiculous waste of time last night's episodes were. I almost screamed at the TV when Web-asses were discussing their reveal. Who cares? Certainly not the audience.

OK, first half was morning, people having breakfast, going to school. Then, 9am in the cafe, Sean on the cake run, David ordering sticky buns, stupidity in the salon. David arrives from the cafe without buns.

Next scene, fast forward to lunch full on at the beestro. Silliness in the salon .. Did Anna get fitted in for a quickie? Why does Gail make appointments weeks in advance?

Everyone sitting in the Rovers??? Sean is now working behind the bar. Did the factreh close early? Was it ever open? Oh must've been, Sean was on the cake run.

Basically everyone wandering around with coffee cups, the only people working were the COUNCIL. Even Tyrone was sent home early. Pure plagiarism from Dad's Army's famous "Don't tell him Pike" when council worker asked Craig for his name.

I could go on. Practically every scene contains several SORs and it's getting unwatchable.

Grumble grumble rant rant

I do. Thanks.

His son, Sam West is also a good actor.

And add my to previous post; no other soap has managed to sustain a thread like this except Corrie.
I agree Sam is a good actor too. This thread is certainly more entertaining than Corrie these days

This attempt to fight against the council to say Maddeh's mural is going to be boring and no doubt cringe-inducing. Maddie was okay near the end, but for goodness sake she was a short-term character who appeared for a year before being killed off, but they are kicking up such a fuss about her. Nobody gives a toss about Kal's death despite helping save a child from a burning building.

So St. Maddie has already gotten two murals and also had a charity auction in her name. What next, a statue for her?

How about Deirdre gets a mural or something in her name? I recall a scene years ago when Craig was interested in pot making and Deirdre was pleased. Not that it went anywhere, but still. Did Craig even interact with Maddie?

It just shows that Corrie fans don't just lap up everything that's aired, but actually watch the detail and take a real interest in it.

This Maddie worship is getting on my wick as well. She was Sophie's bit of fluff not Mother Theresa. Why the hell does she deserve a mural in the first place let alone two of them (the 2nd one to replace the original one). Sophie will be getting a petition together to get a day in the year dedicated to her next e.g. St Maddie's Day which will be a Bank Holiday

Most things are! But of course you are right. This thread makes suffering Corrie almost worthwhile!

It's always about Sophie. Compared to Kal and his bravery, Maddie is a nobody. And the way they all moved in unison along that wall was just laughable and pathetic.

It just shows that Corrie fans don't just lap up everything that's aired, but actually watch the detail and take a real interest in it.
True. It was a good soap and so well-loved. Now it's a washed-up shadow of it's former self.

Yes. And who called the council (again) in the first place and the second the mural is finished they appear. I would expect in reality if anyone rang the council in such a situation it would take at least a year for someone to come out. And no council is so dedicated to removal of graffit, if they were how are so many places in Britain covered in it

To be fair Leeds City Council are pretty good at removing reported graffiti. Racist graffiti is removed pretty quickly, I reported some racist graffiti a few years ago and it was cleaned up within two hours, and I'm sure other graffiti is often clean off within a few weeks.

"What's your name?"
"Don't tell them Craig".

Anyone else wince at that? Mind, it could have been a subliminal tribute to Mr Swindley.
It is a wonder the council worker didn't say 'Your name is also going in the book.'

Audrey made up an excuse not to go out with Ken to the Rovers. And where does she go after claiming she was going to the cinema with Gail? The Rovers.

So all these weeks of getting upset because Ken was with Nessa, she has her chance and turns him down?

noticed something really silly, why have the made viaduct street into a dead end again?, it was all blocked off. like the old one on quay street. they have a viaduct arch at the end which is meant to be the road onto viaduct street and it had a big shutter on it?

what is the point of making the road look like it's continues round a corner if they then make it look like a dead end. if it is a dead end then mary's camper van should be there because that's they way it when when the council impounded it

The graffiti storyline and Sallys indignation is clearly leading

I suspect that has probably changed in the intervening years, GG. In the olden days, there was a lot of training on the job in many different trades but these days you need to have already formally trained at college and have a qualification before you can start up as an apprentice. It's beyond ridiculous that Zeedan could be hired as a chef with no experience, no training and not even a basic qualification in cookery skills.
Are the rules for a cafe different? It seems anyone can come off the street, strap on an apron and start working in Roys Rolls - including cooking in his little kitchen. And don't employees have to wear gloves now when making sandwiches?

Lots of good critiques regarding Monday nights 2 sub par episodes - from the nonsensical timeline, to the ludicrous need to "formally announce" you're a couple after 2 dates, to the most ridiculous robbery plot line I've seen in years.

The missing kids are a constant SOR, but on Monday, Kevin said to Anna (while at her flat) that he had to get back to Sawphie and Jack, yet in the very next scene Sawphie is at the Rovers and Jack is out getting chips or something. Who the heck is actually with Jack? I'm surprised his name was even mentioned by Kevin as he never seems to spend time with him.

Jason himself is sor. Surely fitting underfloor heating is specialised job not one a general builder would be able to complete on his own but no doubt if it's done he will do so.

Yes I agree. It's ludicrous. How much would underfloor heating cost for 1 room?? At least 10k.
Versus buying an oil-filled rad from Argos for around 40 quid. Even if its on a lot and adds say an extra £10 a week on the electricity bill still only equates to 10k over 20yrs.
And just put an extra layer of underlay under the carpet cost around £200 you utter buffoons the lot of you!
Why didn't they put a radiator in when they did the conversion?

Robert had already been in the bar for sometime when Carla came in through the unlocked front door.
But then we saw Carla lock it when she came in.

Yup, Kevin made some sort of comment to Anna about Tyrone and Luke slogging their guts out to keep up with the workload - and then he sends them home early!

Two thoughts:-

1) Isn't this pretty much self defeating? Slog your guts out for 6 hours and then go home 2 hours early, or pace yourself and work the full 8 hour shift or perhaps, if you really are trying to catch up, do the full slog for the full 8 hours? Which is best? Hmmmm?
2) Isn't Ty equally in charge, so why is Kevin sending him home early? Surely he needs to be there as long as possible to make some money to pay off the massive loan?!

They did.

Audrey mentioned that she had a radiator when Gail was moaning that it was cold and moved to one point on the floor and said that the radiator wasn't enough, just stand here. So obviously she spends all day in her "annexe" standing in the one cold spot (probably over the manhole, which should actually be generating heat as Callum's body decomposes rather than feeling cold) and for that she wants under floor heating.

Ok so Tyrone is supposed to own a percentage of the garage so what percentage would that be?

I am assuming that Kevin is still the majority share holder and since he gave Sophie a 20% share that would mean the most Tyrone could own would be 30% thus leaving Kevin with 50% of course it may not be as exact as that any thoughts on this would be interesting?

Scrub that because interestingly enough according to the Corrie wikia page Tyrone is the majority share holder with 50% Kevin has 29% and Sophie 21% which would make Tyrone Kevin's boss.

even if they dug up the floor they can't dig up an entire drainage system, they would go down too far.

then again going too far is corry fotre at the moment

Well, it's like a lot of stuff in Soaps. Norris owns the Kabin outright, yet Rita still acts like she owns it. Emily sold her house to Norris (I think?) yet they act like Emily still owns it. Time is a great healer. Especially before the days of Wikipedia. It makes it harder for the scriptwriters to rewrite the history.

That's why I am of the opinion it's better not to get too involved and study the ins and outs of soaps too much otherwise it tends to overshadow any enjoyment and the fun of watching.
