If Bethany screwed up her exams... why is she still at school? It wasn't her mocks - it was her GCSE's proper. Unless it has a sixth form? They were in own clothes - but how has Bethany progressed to sixth (where presumably they do A-Levels) if she failed her GCSE's? How and when did she make her subject choices? It's just so unclear.

Also - in the meeting at school - how LONG does Lauren bruise for and how badly off one punch? I think she needs to eat more iron. And given her mother is a gobby one and it would have been on CCTV how come she didn't report it to the police as assault?

Also - why didn't Bethany show the head the abusive texts and Facebook messages, or mention it's not just Lauren bullying her but a whole group of them. Why didn't she give Craig as a witness? Bethany isn't stupid and she isn't shy, she would fight the accusation that she's the bully with everything she had.

Bethany won't need any exam passes she will be given a job in the salon sweeping up and making cups of tea and coffee and be a fully trained beauty technician in under a week.

Or sweeping up in the factory before she takes over as senior buyer.

Or cleaning the pub - I think there's a vacancy there, since I don't think Anna does it any more - before she gets the licence.

But if there aren't any jobs in Weatherfield, she'll just end up sponging off her parents because there's no JSA available to Weatherfield residents.

Sixth forms and sixth form colleges can do GCSEs as well as 'A' levels, especially if there.are sufficient pupils wanting to take them.

On the day GCSE results came out, TV reporters went into schools and spoke to some of the pupils and there was more than one who said they'd retaken their GCSEs to try and get a better grade and presumably originally took them at the end of year 11.

A vacancy in the army has arisen. Bullying is not tolerated there, with the exception of the drill instructor that is.

That's a good plan. But..... it would require more thought and planning than him just clearing off with all the dosh. This is Corrie we're talking about!

Failing that Gary could give Bethany a job at the gym as a dietician and fitness instructor.

Simon could either get a job in or open a bookies or just work in the Bistro.

Craig could become an expert in kebab making as he certainly knows a lot about them and work with Chesney and Gemma.

Faye could work in the factory, be a taxi driver, window cleaner or work in Roy's with Anna the world is her oyster with the contacts she has.

Simon will end up on a wanted poster. Craig will end up with Faye and Faye will end up the duff.

I think we must assume that the school has a sixth form. Doesn't Craig go there?

The bullying SL is stupid as a lot of the bullying has taken place outside and in the street. So the issue doesn't all fall within the school's responsibility.

Simon seems quite a bright lad and with Sir Kenneth Know-All as his grandfather he must surely go to uni and on to greater things! But in time he will probalby take over Sir Ken's role, move into his house and keep the place as a memorial to Albert Tatlock, Deirdre and Sir Ken. There will of course be a blue plaque outside dedicated to the scholarly Sir Kenneth.

I forgot Amy. What will happen to her? The new Blanche/Tracy and working in the florists or the new Michelle at the Rovers?

Yes even though as Janet points out, some pupils do go back for retakes, I do not think that sort of possibility ever entered the head of the writers - they just do not think things through more than a few episodes at a time. If they did plan it all they needed was one line 'I am going to re-take them because.....'.

They get things so wrong I often wonder if they know very little about what goes on in the real world or whether they just contemptuously ignore it for the sake of a story line with an attitude 'the viewers will take it in or not bother - except for those miserable buggers on that SOR thread.'

Who knows why they do it really - but at least it keeps this thread going!

They seemed to have shoe-horned in a pile of old Leanne/Nick/Steve and then Craig/Beth shite as fillers for some reason. Not to mention the Todd/Billy falling out over practically nothing just to provide us with some 'young fellas at it' scenes. It was all so Made in Corrie. Just repetitive dialogue making dramas out of absolutely nothing.

Next week: Phelan gives up having sugar in his tea, Eileen tries to emotionally support him because it's what he needs right now. Phelan is caught putting a spoon of sugar in his tea, Eileen leaves him for good, for 5 minutes, then forgives him and comes back. Cue end credits.

Maybe the old scripts are being phased out now so storylines and possibly characters, are being systematically ditched.

I commend Corrie for demonstrating you don't need qualifications to get up the ladder and it's possible to start from scratch (Nick, Leanne, Liz), but it's become all too far-fetched in recent years. Purely to fit storyline purposes. Michelle is a prime example......madam went from lowly barmaid to an account expert who spotted an issue with the company spreadsheets, with the briefest of looks. And then all that development thrown in so she could return to the Rovers and do........f all. Had they worked on the character, there would have been more conviction in what she does...........dare I say she would've shaken up Underworld in a good way, instead of Aiden and Old Connor Spice.

Why was David arrested for doing his job? I wish someone would give that Lauren a big smack........if Bethany gets excluded for doing so, I'd pat her on the back. Why does she need to go to that rotten old school?
