I was thinking more like an iced cardboard box
that is what they do unless the cake is being cut. in one tv programme a grand wedding cake was iced and decorated quality street tins

The problem being is that some of the actors (alright most of them) don't have the ability to convey that a cake that size would be a tad heavy. Bit like the empty "full" coffee cups, suit cases etc. the list is endless

The suitcase "acting" is a particular bugbear for me on many dramas.

When Craig collapsed in a drunken stupor, Sally and Tim must have been poised on the stairs as they were on the scene in a split second, clad in dressing gowns.

Eva telling Sean she wouldn't blab about the hotel thing. She did, of course, so don't know why he was surprised.

Faye's bread sandwich looked delicious.

The biggest SOR last night was that Liam really did appear to have some form of liquid in his beaker. A Corrie first.

I thought Maria called out to Ozzy before she went up the stairs but it still doesn't answer the question as to where he was.
Ozzy told her he was locked in the wardrobe but he's been forgotten about ever since.

it was probably calpol, that's why we usually dont hear from him

Ozzie has been MIA and AWOL for a few years, as has Liam, now he his being bumped off he's suddenly in every scene.

they need to dispense him to rainbow bridge as he's been in it longer than a labrador usually lives

and maria gets burgled on the one night Ozzie has a sleepover in Eccle's kennel

otherwise where was the dog, would it not be barking it's head off at somebody burgling the place
You have made me crack up laughing on so many occasions! This post and the one about baby Harry, just hillarious! Thank you.

[quote=coldcomfort;83922305]When Craig collapsed in a drunken stupor, Sally and Tim must have been poised on the stairs as they were on the scene in a split second, clad in dressing gowns.

Last week they stopped coming down the stairs well within his hearing and discussed him and the rat, instead of the normal way of discussing things in private upstairs.

I'm sure we heard "panting" sound effects in one of Maria's flat scenes last night though that might have just been Caz

Why must people who don't know how to claim benefits be living in the 80s? Maybe they're just not au fait with the procedure.
Because that's what you USED to do to find work in the job centre, many years ago. Nowadays "security' often remove you if you aren't claiming JSA.

Anyone can walk into the local jobcentre and access the computer screens and printers to search for jobs on their system
Similar to my reply to Wolfsheadish .. try it. You'll probably get asked by the private security people working there if you are on JSA ... if not, they will ask you to leave. I have been asked to leave 4 different premises in the past few months.

It follows the female line not the male , if she has twins it's a coincidence
Apologies for a late response but I am catching up on here after being away.

This is not true. There had never been twins in my family (full family tree having been recorded) until two of my female cousins had twins as there were cases in their husband's families. And it doesn't always skip a generation either, as one of those (male) twins went on to have twins too.

I had to read the BIB 3 times before I realised you meant Ozzie was being bumped off and not Liam As Liam's name was used closest to the word bumped I assumed it was him.

Aidan's shirt buttons were really tight last night. Is this to show what a hunk he is or that he ate all the pies?

What will happen to Beth the bigamist? Will she go to jail? Didn't Fred Elliott and Emily Bishop also marry bigamists?

Poor myKirky and myCraigy.

Yes, I noticed his shirt was extra tight, well, he is the only Corrie hunk, after all
However, as I said on another thread, there is no comparison to the hunks on ED.

A great bit of casting of Butch Dingle as Craig's dad, they really did look like one another.

Yes, I remember Emily marrying a bigimist at one time, and I hope they do send Beth to prison, get rid of her for a while, terrible moronic character. Why are they stilll living in Chesney's house anyway, or have the writers forgotten it's his house, as we never see him there anymore

And there was Peter Barlow marrying Shelley and Lucy. He never could say no to a woman, well most women.

Aidan is looking chunkier by the week. I was expecting those straining buttons to go ping and fly across the room!

They were alike, weren't they. I only remember the actor from Blue Murder where he was quite a different personality. That's called acting, I suppose!

Do the ED hunks wear such garb to signpost - this is an Emmerdale hunk? Corrie are so obvious with their characters. Eva is another one! That woman from the North East in ED seems to wear daft clothes to suit her character. It gets on my wick when soaps dress characters in such an overt way to show the character's personality. Beth on Corrie is another one.

I'd forgotten about Peter Barlow. I quite liked that SL.

Arnold - who married Emily got sent to an institution.
Peter Barlow - left Weatherfield.
Eve Elliott - married Fred left after discovered as bigamist.

Going on Corrie's history of bigamists it's not certain if Beth will get sent to prison or face any consequences whatsoever.

Aidan and his shirt buttons are a worry. He's a Connor and a top businessman and he can't even dress himself properly!

One minute Eva is in the factory, next she's working as a barmaid in her lunch hour. Saves having to pay another actor I suppose.

Tyrone telling Craig he could stay at there's without discussing it with Fizz first.
