good idea for Alex to go to the allotment with a bandaged hand where he can get mud and dirt under it

what's the betting Roy leaves with Alex, cathy has a change of mind and goes racing up the M6 to bring them back

Dev has been selling flowers for years - certainly long before Tracy opened the florists, so I don't quite understand Corrie's logic with the flower stall.

Also, the writers really don't have a clue what to do with Andy. Is this book stuff actually going to go anywhere? I can't see him having an affair with Mary or becoming the next Stephen King.

And finally, who the hell "pulls" in the Rovers like that with buying a drink for a complete stranger and approaching them with it. That girl should have been creeped out, especially with Andy sitting at a stool behind her just staring on.”

Would a young woman alone just go into a back street pub that she has no connection with and buy herself a drink?

You will need to factor in whether they were bought at a 'greasy spoon', a bistro / restaurant or an upmarket hotel

Seemingly she would, just so that she can eye up Luke, who they seem to be desperately trying to push as some sort of a hunk and a ladies man lately

It also depends on who's eating it. If Fiz and Ty were invited.............

Couldn't believe Luke saying she's gorgeous/beautiful etc. She was well butters.

Michelle and Robert........all very frosty. It's like the writers want to tell us 'you don't mess with Carla Connor, and we don't forget'. Seriously though, why couldn't she just do catering business with another restaurant? Or speak to Nick?

Andy is bloody boring. They finally give him something that doesn't revolve around Steph nagging him, and it's dull!

Luke is another waste of space. Girl in the Rovers, smiling most politely...........come on Corrie, let her speak!! It shouldn't cost a lot of money to have a few lines.

The cafe must have needed that fresh fruit and veg his customers demand for their well balanced diet. Sometimes sausage and egg aren't quite enough to see them through the hard days work ahead.

regarding Addi and Asha's ages, sent an email to corrie and apparently they were aged up a year when re introduced in 2009

wonder why they do that.

dodgy link, click on the episode to see the story

corry cocked it up last year by having their 10th birthday when they were nine
which means they were conceived a month before their parents married in October 2004

daft to do this when we can go online and find all the corry info so see they have made a mistake”

I looked at the summary of that episode and saw that Catherine Tyldesley played a midwife at the twins' birth!

What bad-tempered, unlikeable episodes they were last night. Alya blackmails her grandad and dumps Sinead.Michelle stomps into the bistro clutching her famous folder and scowling furiously. How unprofessional was that! And Cathy behaves like a self-obsessed harridan, taking it out on Alex and Roy, showing no empathy of any kind, and not the slightest hint of understanding or sympathy.

I noticed that too.

I've asked corry why they aged up the twins, as they did not age up Simon when he came back in 2008 yet the aged up sophie then aged her down again

daft they do this when we know when the character was born

Kids eh.

Then there's ruthless Alyah and her designs and her wanting her own business. Yawn.

In Corrie, everybody wants their own business.

Is Alex really leaving? If so, hopefully Cathy will now spontaneously combust from pure spite, malice and hatefulness.

And then Roy can live happily ever after.”

Either my memory's going or the script writers still aren't talking to each other, I thought on Friday Mary had said she would quit the florists, so all those scenes yesterday made no sense.

She was supposed to meet someone there but had been stood up. For once not an SOR to have someone who doesn't live on the Street in the Rovers.

What was that rubbish about Alan telling Alex he was his father? How could he know Alex wouldn't tell Cathy?

Hopefully they both leave, and soon. The story line is weak and getting weaker by the episode.

It's now January 2015.

They are celebrating their 10th birthday.

Someone hasn't done the math.
Blimey how thick can some people be? They are 9. 2015-2006 = 9”

the age discrepancy did not go unnoticed last year either

so they were reintroduced in 2009 as four year olds yet we quite understandably thought they were three.

still a daft thing to do especially when we will expect 18th birthday parties in 2024.
they aged up sophie a decade back but had her celebrate her 21st last october when if she was suddenly a year older would have been in 2014

if they are going to do that be consistent with the character .

daft thing is by ageing the twins up a year means they would have been conceived a month before their parents married

They did mention she was stood up by a friend, probably one of the street's "mute" extras
Why she didn't just leave though is strange.

Age is largely irrelevant in soap characters.

Is it going anywhere though or is it just more crappy filler?

Aldi & Asda had told Dev they got the flowers from their school. On a Monday morning??? Later it transpires that they actually stole them from a funeral. When???? How??? Very lazy writing and no thought given to credibility.

I found that baffling too. Dev produced a contract to show Mary he was still employing her in the afternoon and she seemed to accept that but yesterday she was bustling round the florists exactly as before.

When Dev showed her the contract she said she would give in her notice the next day. So presumably she's working her notice.

But it's not been mentioned in the shop and Tracy is talking and acting as if Mary is going to carry on working there. In any case, Mary worked only one afternoon, and I doubt she's on any period of notice. It seems very muddled and unthought through.
