Did Ty say A19 when they broke down? Doncaster to Sunderland? Not exactly direct even if Roy wanted to keep off the motorways.
think they meant the A9 there
basically
Trafford Wharf Rd, Trafford Rd, A5063, A56, A680, A59, A682, A590, A6, B7076, A701, B7076, A702, A73, A70, A721, A876, A706, A801, A905, A876, A977, A823, A9, B865, B862, B861

easy when you have google maps

should have taken Kirk if they were going to Sutherland

Agreed, but what time did they leave? To the place of breakdown, wait for Kev, and then get back in daylight? He would never have got as far as Scotland even if he'd set off at sparrowfart. It would have been so much more plausible if they'd parked in a back street somewhere and said they were in Rochdale.
Didn't Dev sell the shops as he was nigh on bankrupt?

Ty told Cathy they were at a place called Murton which is indeed just off the A19 - over 3 hours away from Manchester if you're avoiding motorways!

So that's 3 hours for Roy, Alex and Ty to get to the park, another 3 hours waiting for Cathy to come pick them up and a further 3 hours to get back to Weatherfield. That's a long time to go round in a big circle

Yes, that's what I recall but I don't remember what brought it about.

It was lucky that the one shop he retained happened to be the one on Coronation Street.

I'm sure it was one of those Corrie debt storylines, where characters make a big deal out of it for a week then all forgotten.

Sure it was after the tram crash it happened, but could be wrong.

Was it something about not having sufficient insurance?

Dev brings up what the twins went through with Sunita. The incident obviously didn't play on their minds as they quite happily locked Max in the room where his father's corpse was discovered.
And they nicked the flowers from the cemetery where there are lots more!

The Alahan kids are a joke. I know EE is much more of a hard soap but the SL where William hit Denny because he was saying horrible things about his sister, Janet who has Downs was much more plausible.

The Alahan kids are brats childish and completely laughable. They want their nanny back? Awww.

Yes - just found it on wikipedia!

He couldn't pay Owen for rebuilding the shop after the tram crash as it wasn't insured and Sunita then found that the other shops were losing money for a variety of different reasons and insisted they be sold off.

At least 40 - 50'miles to the A19 from Salford in the time it takes Fiz & Cathy to sit and have a cup of tea. What sort of engine is "Woody" fitted with, a Rolls-Royce Olympus turbo-jet?

The A19 at Murton is rather busy , and has proper road signs ....to get there from Wetherrfield even on a motorway is just under 3 hours ......if I'd just needed a thermostat I might have got a bus ( the real Murton has them ) into Sunderland or gone mad and spent a fiver on a taxi ....either way a lot cheaper than Kevin burning off 300 miles of diesel and not working for 6 hours

They should be old enough to take themselves to school and back anyway. The other kids take a bus. Don't know what the point in aging them up is if the writers insist on treating them like small children.

And doesn't Mary live at Dev's? So how does that work then? The live-in nanny-housekeeper gets a job somewhere else and can't do their duties anymore. And their employer encourages that. Very odd. Devs must be a 4 bed house. Twins each have a room as they can't share at their age, then Mary, then Dev.

And they didn't leave till after 13.30 so plus 9 hours equals gone 10.30 pm on a September night, yet it was bright sunlight when they got back.

On Monday, when Beth boarded the bus to go to court she did have a note in her hand, presumably to pay the bus fare. However, the bus drove off too quickly for the driver to issue her a ticket. Had he run out of change or ticket roll, or did she not pay her fare in the end?

It was a bus pass/Oyster card/whatever card they use in Manchester

It was Gloria IIRC (aka Sheila Grant in Brookie) rathe rather than Blanche. It resonated though, I've not thought of them as anything else since!
Yes it was Gloria who called them Asda & Aldi but it was probably stolen from this thread as we were calling the kids those names years before Gloria said it on screen

Shush, don't mention the other shops. We're supposed to have forgotten about them.
Like we are supposed to have forgotten about Cathy's house that had some very minor fire damage which could be repaired and sold or lived in by her and Alex rather than all squeeze into Roy's 'Tardis' like flat.

When Todd went into the café to get a coffee and Cathy told him that Alex was going back to Inverness, did he pay?

As they were stealing the flowers off graves, where did Dev think they were getting the flowers from and how they were paying for them, since he will know how much pocket money he gives them, and surely not enough to pay for numerous bunches of flowers!

Ah, that doesn't surprise me! I've tended to only dip in and out of the forums over the years so I hadn't picked up on it before Gloria said it.

I don't think he did, but then I don't think Cathy put anything in it! It just appeared to be so light when he picked it up

Happy birthday by the way

He put £2 on the counter as he asked for it.
