No! It has to be pink to have any chance of a successful business.
Drat. Okay, I will just have to continue in the property business. Anybody want to buy a new flat I am building on the Red Rec ?

James I think you should be awarded Word of the Week for 'pablum'
I'm impressed, and I know Ken would be too .
So would Izzy, our kids used to make the same faces as her when we tried to feed them that stuff.

You might change your mind when Phelan slips a brochure in your mailbox outling the attainability of luxury living. Romanesque architecture done in a subtle fashion so it doesn't overpower the modern interior design. Phelan knows the residents of coronation street demand the highest quality and specs and has contracted only the finest interior designers from Paris France. All this for fifteen grand. I won't be missing this gravy train so I suggest you get on board and start livin' large.
You are right, James. How could I have overlooked the £30,000 to be spent on tiles? This is one desirable imaginary development.

Incidentally Eileen said she had paid for the tiles. Has she got access to the company money / cheque book ??

Yes, because the money is Jason's and he left it with her to run the business with.

It's a SOR that Eileen would even know how to work out how many tiles they would need! And as for her taste, it's probably ghastly. .....

But Vinny noticed the money was missing from the company accounts.

Although we admittedly don't know the time scale involved, and the plot has to move along rather quicker than real time, but, even so, he cottoned on quickly that the money had gone. Assuming she'd hoodwinked the wholesalers into believing that the deveolpment is kosher, why didn't they open an account (for "future supplies"), or sell the tiles sale or return?

But as we all know nothing works in soaps the way it does in real life. Which is why there are forums like this one. It would be extremely boring if we had to wait, for exampke, six weeks for a solicitor to produce legal papers. What really annoys me about Corrie is the continuity within scenes. Dark when it should be light; school holidays at odd times; people's ages being changed etc. Corrie in the dim and distant past, used to be spot on with continuity.

if she spent that much on tiles and each box had say 100 tiles in them would there not be about 300 boxes in her house?

corry continuity was so spot on back in the day that in the famous ena V elsie show down Ena leaves the pub and number 1 isn't there

I am a Homosexual male who finds what men do with women repugnant, but that doesn't mean I am anti heterosexual, I just don't like the idea of men having sex with women. I would never treat anyone of any sexuality or race differently but clearly do as I can't stand the thought of a man or woman together.

This is a clear statement of heterophobia which I definitely am not, however, how you can say what you did and claim it's not homophobic is beyond me.

Thanks
Very good, Aaron . Easy to see where the problem lies, right?

Has Michelle actually had any success stories where potential new wedding planning clients have had recommendations from her previous clients? When the new clients ask her for examples of previous weddings she has successfully planned what exactly does she show them. Does she take pictures of weddings she has found on Google and pretend they were all her own work? "Yes it was my idea for the thrones at the Beckham's wedding", "I told Prince William it would be a good idea to kiss Kate on the balcony for all the crowds below to cheer",
Bingo! Said the same thing last night.

Steve's reaction was cringe worthy, reminded me of the time Sinead offered someone a jammie dodger with a simpleton expression. Corrie love simple folk.

Firstly why would she need to hoodwink the wholesalers that the development is kosher? Providing the wholesaler will sell to her (did she have company letterhead or documentation proving she was trade?!), why would he be interested in the development?

As for opening an account, she may have done so, but didn't mention it to Vinny or Pat when the row broke out.

If the wholesaler was off-loading end of stock tiles, then he probably wouldn't want to sell them on a sale or return basis.

I don't understand. I thought Phelan had persuaded Eileen to transfer Jason's money over to Vinny's company account? Vinny would never have just agreed that Phelan was 'in', on money that was just talked about. Phelan actually provided Vinny with the money.
Great...another sleepless night for me trying to work that one out...

Indeed, Eileen transferred the money to Vinny.

She nearly didn't after Sally stated she wasn't behind the project any more, so Phelan had to do a little more work to get her back on board, and once done, she went to the bank to transfer the money.

So she would have no access to that money any more.

here's the clip, at 45 seconds in ena exits the rovers and the houses are the wrong way round as number one joins the pub on it's window side, not the door side as show. then then stand outside for the scene, really bad continuity with the set design of the street
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LKkeyO6a8KQ

here's a pic of the studio street set when they'd got the houses the correct way round
the studio was so tiny they had to miss two houses out to fit it in, that is why the lost number 7 so split the street into two halves

I do remember that until they introduced the ginnel between the Rovers and No 1 people used to joke that customers in the Rovers were actually going into Ken's Uncle Albert Tatlock's house to use the loo.

So what's the Pat/Vinny master plan then?

Get £15k off as many people as possible and then jet off to a country which has no extradition policy with the UK?

Are they supposed to have carried out this scam previously?

Every episode of Corrie has to have, by law, a scene where someone just happens to be around at exactly the right time to see or overhear two other characters getting up to something. Sure enough, Audrey turned up right on cue to clock Freddie and Rita going off together. But what was even worse, she had no idea what time they would be back, yet she was still hanging around in the dark and rain at exactly the right time.

Utter garbage.
I know right. Does my head in every time.

Sooooooooooo, it's OK for YOU as a homosexual to find a man and woman smooching and snogging repugnant, but not OK for straight folk to find 2 homosexuals snogging repugnant?

I guess this is the same as when people who are black are attacked, it's a racist attack, but when it's a white person who is attacked, it's just an attack.

I'm done.

I think I can recall Vinny telling Phelan that he had done this scam previously, and it just involved taking the deposits and running.
