Kev and Anna were celebrating because they were moving in together. Really? All we've seen of their wonderful relationship is a few dates and a shag. After that they announced they were a couple. Apart from Anna having a screaming fit over Phelan and a screaming fit when Faye was with the lad, what else have Anna and Kev actually done in Corrie?

It's obvious it was done to make Anna's hospitalisation appear really sad.

Boo hoo.
Boo hoo.

Anyway, Gary was stuck under a car, Lily was stuck under a car, David was injured, Anna was injured and Robert got a nasty cut on his hand. But who got all the attention?

Michelle Connor.

Yes, poor Michelle Connor who was actually indoors, coming down the stairs and safe when the explosion happened. After people had paid her the right amount of attention and asked enough times if she was ok, she then sat in the Rovers with yet another over exaggerated look of sadness like she was the only person affected or she was the most affected. People just don't sit around with such overemphasised sad, melancholy faces.

And Mary and Beth. Were they comic relief for tonight's ep?
All the Michelle stuff was really weird. I thought at first she's been injured by a flying shard of glass or hurt herself falling down the stairs but no she was just shaken up. I understand that but why was everyone fussing over her when Anna has just suffered horrific burns & other people are injured - nobody even knows she's pregnant do they? Although I don't know how they could miss her constant belly rubbing tonight which all pregnant characters in soaps always do.

Re: Kevin & Anna I was really confused - I don't watch regularly but I do read spoilers and threads on here - I didn't realise they were still an item!!

Can't believe they didn't take Lily to hospital to get checked out - I know she seemed ok but she had just been trapped under a car ffs. Although she seemed to be rather amused by it all - it looked like she was laughing when they pulled her out! I thought she was unconscious whilst under the car because there was no crying/screaming which surely any child would do in a terrifying situation like that? But she was fine and seemingly not traumatised at all lol. I also chuckled at her never being around for 99% of the time but the minute the plot requires it there she is - out of the storage facility for children & vehicles. Baby Harry seems to have been sent there though and I found it funny how Fiz having just lost Lily then completely forgot about her own children - they could have been halfway to Blackpool on a bendy bus for all she knew
They did take Lily to hospital. After the copper asked David all those questions he said he wanted to be with his daughter and him and Sarah jumped in the back of the ambulance that Lily was in

BIB. Because everyone knows how lucky we all are to have her. How could anyone else be considered at a time like this.

The script writers have a Room Of Requirement, like Harry Potter!

Whatever is needed, suddenly appears.....
CS is woeful. I have stopped watching, had watched for years. SB ruined most of the characters turning them into comedic characters etc and I don't see any way back for it now.

Anna shouldn't have survived being in a fireball.
Wishful thinking I was watching it saying let her die, I can't stand her character

Still need to catch up on Wednesday and Friday's eppys........all sounds hilarious!
Right - now in this scene Michelle will be at the bottom of the stairs simpering like a kicked puppy.

But isn't that totally out of character?

Yes but we desperately want the viewers to be in love with her and to forget the time when she dragged Steve around by his ear lobes and constantly writing "he's lucky to 'ave 'er" in the script isn't working.
It's lazy Corrie propaganda. They are better off just flashing *MICHELLE IS GREAT* and be done with it.

I just find the whole character superficial, but that's sadly the case with Corrie women today. For starters Michelle looks immaculate, whatever time of day..........she looks pristine in the mornings. Where's the realism? I'm not saying she should stroll in dog rough, but the only time we see characters without makeup is when they are 'loony' or suffering from 'extreme' insomnia. Even then, Michelle's mascara doesn't fail her.

They made her out as some super businesswoman, and binned that development when Steve bought the Rovers back. One of the worst decisions Corrie have ever made! The writers tried modelling the relationship on Jack and Vera but failed..............now it's Rachel and Ross. What next, Homer and Marge?

It's a shame what has happened to Steve. Any credibility and roundness the character once had has been sucked out by these inept writers.

"the glaziers are coming tomorrow" whats the betting they will replace the windows with identical stained glass totally bespoke with the pubs name/initials in the middle as before? Because all glaziers have it in stock at all times.

Great that all the folks nearby managed to rally around to lift the car off Gary and Lilly, but wouldn't it have made sense to have popped something under the car to hold it up once they'd raised it? Something like axle stands perhaps?

But then, where would they have found something like that in the heat of the moment? OK, perhaps at a local garage say, but who would have known of such things? Er, Kevin, Ty and Luke, who were all there...... Doh!

Oh, and while they were fetching the axle stands, a trolley jack or two wouldn't have gone amiss!

Mr sutie was beside himself and shouting this at the screen.

I think it would be a brave move by the producer to kill off David Platt. He's had so many brushes with death, is so self-destructive, perhaps the producer and writers should go the whole hog and kill him off!

We saw David heading for the shower upstairs. Isn't he in the downstairs bedroom? Where his clean clothes would be, and his ensuite shower.

Kevin and Luke leaving the garage open and going to the pub for their lunch.
Yep. Wide open with all that expensive equipment just laying around too.

Reet and Norris missing, most unusual. Factory closed? 'Hard up' Fiz was off just so she could babysit a neighbours kids (badly). Eva was in court. Beth litter picking. Sally in the pub.

The medical centre and chippy not evacuated though they had an exploded car outside. The salon closed. No one from the cab office, community centre or Roy's rolls appearing.

Audrey getting a call about Ken but never appearing at the hospital. Florists closed? Mary had enough free time to do communitiy service!

Why was Fiz at home with the kids- Hope is 6 and Ruby 4, they should have been at school/nursery (Max was in school).

It was well done but if you look into it there were a lot of plot holes.

Well it is Corrie so plot holes are to be expected.

There is no way a skip would "launch" a car like that, you need an upward slope for one side the car to run up for that.
Skips are effectively immovable objects and (like trees) stop cars dead or, if hit partially may spin them, not launch them onto their roofs for dozens of meters !!!!!!

The other thing, David was in a knackered, old, low powered Corsa, it simply wouldn't have had enough run up in that street to do what it did, even if it was possible.

There did happen to be a conveniently placed plank to act as a ramp as was pointed out on here earlier in the week.

Didn't notice that but I use scaffolding planks and any car hitting and running up one of those would snap it like a match almost instantly, it couldn't bear the weight of a car.

It doesn't do to apply real world logic and physics to Corrie or any other soap come to think of it.

Who were the other two that must of got very injured during the second explosion, it showed them really close to the second one and appeared to get engulfed in flames but never said who they were. It did make me laugh how David was appearing to be a few meters away from hitting Lilly the all of a sudden he'd gone backwards and veered over to some planks of wood on a skip and turned over onto his side. Then it lands on a 4 year old and she didn't make a sound, then comes out fine without a scratch. Same with Gary, couldn't move then in the hospital fine.

Yes, he has his own bedroom and an ensuite shower in the annexe, which he has all to himself, while the other dozen or so people who live there all have to sleep upstairs.
Another daft thing is when he was seen in the shower, it looked like he was in a glass shower enclosure, just like the one in the annexe. I doubt very much if they would have one of those upstairs, as we used to hear Gail say she was going up for a bath!

Maybe there's both and she just prefers a bath, many do!

The irony of Tracey ranting at Peter for causing Ken so much stress.

There's always a convenient ramp of some kind if you bother to look for it when a car rolls. Just as there's always a strip of wood holding a "locked" door closed when someone's going to bust it open. If it's filmed from inside the room, you see the strip of wood fall as the door bursts open.
