I was a bit confused about so much emphasis on Michelle too. I expected her to suddenly have stomach cramps and have to be rushed in to hospital having a baby scare, not that she was OK.

Sorry meant 1.20.
Fiz wasn't minding Harry, as later on she said 'I better get back to the girls'. Audrey wasn't minding Harry either as we saw her on her own earlier. It's was all 'where's Lily, where's Lily'. No one cared that Harry has been left on his own for about 12hrs. Unless Michael had taken him for a walk - but they could have told us that... It really spoils a scene when you are wondering who is doing the babysitting? |

Me too. Why did Robert suddenly become concerned about Michelle? And if she was coming down the stairs as she said how would she have seen there was lots of glass flying about?

The beginning of Anna and Kev's relationship was also odd. They'd only been out a couple of times, and all the fuss and palaver started about them being a couple.
Oh dear, Michelle. Her acting is so limited, it's woeful. She puts one expression on, usually miserable, and it just sticks there. When she was angry with Steve for staying in Spain - though she'd been messing around with Weird Will - that expression appeared and didn't change for weeks. It's so exaggerated, it's like a clown's face painted to show sadness. When all the attention switched to her, I was sure we were in for some dramatic medical emergency connected to her pregnancy, but no - it was Michelle over-reacting. Mind you, we're lucky to have her. The acting in Corrie is mostly OTT. Michelle's reactions are OTT. This could be down to the director who perhaps tells the actors to overdo it. Corrie are not doing Michelle any favours by trying to force her 'popularity' and 'importance' on the viewers. Michelle and Steve have no chemistry as a couple and as it stands she is not a lovable character either. I don't think they should get rid of her but Corrie need a rethink on the character. But then they need a rethink on a number of characters. |

Yes I noticed that. Cafe clock said 1.20pm when Ty was buying 4 large, greasy, sugar-coated doughnuts as a mid morning snack for the pre-schoolers. They won't be eating much lunch or dinner with one of those lodged in their intestines..

You know Bet was so superficial with her look. OTT make-up. OTT hair. OTT clothes. OTT personailty. But she worked because we saw the very human side of the character. They might be trying that now with Michelle. Sad, preggers Michelle and Steve's medical issue. Awwww Poor Michelle. Explosions and flying glass. Awwww poor sad Michelle. But it's just not working. She's just not a sympathetic character. Michelle's perfect eye makeup even when she's crying doesn't help either!
I (sadly) couldn't help but chuckle when Anna was on fire. Was that the intention? Now when fire crawled up on Bet's dressing gown and she let out a scream.......that was terrifying.

Numerous SOR's during Friday's episode but the fact that David's car ended up upside down would immediately tell the police he must have been doing 50 or 60mph at least, and not "He wasn't speeding, it was an accident" as Gail and Sarah hilariously told them.
David clearly should have been sectioned after the incident for his own safety (and that's not even taking into account his farewell video and suicide bomb plans) but he is living with the most dysfunctional family in the UK and three people who are as mental as he is. |

AND....(rant coming up)
Why would Gary be happy about his mother going to live with someone who cheated on his wife more times than I can remember and has had a spell in prison for violence? She would be better off with flaming Phelan! |

Away from the dramatic storyline on Friday, looking instead at the "comedy" relief of Mary and Beth: Why did Mary, after Beth had got back to her "Chain Gang", and swapped over the coat and hat, did Mary have to climb out of the window? Why didn't she just wait until Beth and the woman in charge had gone and walk out of the door?

You should have phoned the helpline number they give out for people who have been affected by the episode.

Unless there is a link to something happening to the baby, I'm not sure why Michelle needed to be in the episode at all. Liz wasn't. But you're right, she's a dire character and as you say there is no chemistry with her and Steve. They try to make Michelle a strong, feisty character but it just comes across as selfish, cold and bullying. Steve was much better with Karen and Becky but he just doesn't gel with Michelle.
The Steve/Michelle pairing has done Steve no favours as he's turned into a ridiculous caricature a lot of the time, gurning and behaving like a giant toddler. |

Yup, if you have recently gone on fire after rescuing your son from an upturned car who was in turn rescuing a small child from being run over by her dad who was on route to carry out a murder/ suicide plan to blow up himself and the bloke who murdered his missus then please dial this number...

You're right - why was Michelle there, even the centre of attention, when all the serious action was out in the street? She seemed forced into it, as if she can't be left out of anything.

Steve was a much better character when he was with Karen and Becky, they actually wrote him as a much better person and a man with opinions, instead of now as you say gurning and acting as an idiot at every opportunity. Now he is like some bowing, kowtowing minion to the mighty Michelle (she who must be obeyed) and it is dreadful and painful to watch and such a shame as he used to be one of our favourites in Corrie
