Yes I noticed that. Cafe clock said 1.20pm when Ty was buying 4 large, greasy, sugar-coated doughnuts as a mid morning snack for the pre-schoolers. They won't be eating much lunch or dinner with one of those lodged in their intestines..
Fiz wasn't minding Harry, as later on she said 'I better get back to the girls'. Audrey wasn't minding Harry either as we saw her on her own earlier. It's was all 'where's Lily, where's Lily'. No one cared that Harry has been left on his own for about 12hrs. Unless Michael had taken him for a walk - but they could have told us that... It really spoils a scene when you are wondering who is doing the babysitting? Corrie should be doing their bit to prevent glorifying childhood obesity, but then Fiz and Ty live on junk food. On another note, there seemed to be a massive deal made over Robert's bloody hand which makes me think something is going to happen?

I think the dummy stand in for Lilly should get an NTA award for most convincing photo shop image in a soap

I definitely think the plank of wood up against the skip should get a nomination for best actor in Corrie too.
![]() ![]() somebody mentioned Robert's cut hand. David cut his hand but was able to hold the steering wheel on the car. give the spelling of 'Lily's name with one L should it not be pronounced lie-lee or does crap spelling / pronunciation not count as SOR |

That's a bit harsh on Robert is it not? He did a fine bit of acting there with his hideously gashed hand.

That's because Ty was lying about the doughnuts they were for him and as soon as he got out of the café he would have snaffled them down box and all.

And when he was married to Vicky.
Feisty Michelle didn't work because he was never allowed to fight back. So Steve and Michelle have never had the same chemistry like when Steve was with Karen and Becky. Corrie were lucky that Steve had two sparky relationships. Michelle is now a sensitive character as seen in Friday's eps. But that doesn't work either. Poor Steve. Now he's just some insignificant wally who does a comedic turn with Tim and fawns over his latest wife, Michelle. |

Steve was a much better character when he was with Karen and Becky, they actually wrote him as a much better person and a man with opinions, instead of now as you say gurning and acting as an idiot at every opportunity. Now he is like some bowing, kowtowing minion to the mighty Michelle (she who must be obeyed) and it is dreadful and painful to watch and such a shame as he used to be one of our favourites in Corrie
Steve's character change saddens me more than artificial Michelle. Could you imagine if Steve had to confront Jez today.........70% of the 'acting' would be him gurning. I don't even recognise Liz anymore.......the writers have damaged the McDonalds. Quote:

I still remember the scene when Ty was on his poverty enforced diet and he was outside the garage with Luke who had some fish and chips while Ty had nothing Ty's eyes were like saucers and he was almost drooling as Luke sat eating his chippy lunch with Ty watching every mouthful, to the extent in the end he made Luke feel guilty and Luke had to share what he had with Ty.
![]() Luke and his yummy fish and chips and Ty who had something like a stale, meat paste butty. OTT Corrie always have to hammer it home! |

You wouldn't think at one point Liz disliked Michelle. |

In fact, Hope looks like she could benefit from a few more cream buns. Me too. And lifting the car was much easier than they made out on the show. No, unless Lily is a secret American, in which case Lillie/ is more usual, it is the correct and most common English spelling. Like the flower. ![]() |

None of the characters live healthy lifestyles, but then again Corrie (along with the other soaps) are hardly at a place to try and be moralistic. Worse goes on than eating donuts.
And the last thing we need is Corrie's attempts at 'tacking' yet another issue driven plot (even though as a poster pointed out neither Hope or Ruby are overweight). But you are right, barely any of the characters live on a healthy diet as shown by the muck they eat on a daily basis in that greasy cafe. Even Carla Connor used to tuck into a greasy fry up and she would definitely be a health conscious character. |

When he was married to Vicky, Karen and Becky there was always something interesting going on in his life. He only married Vicky for her money but that was a good SL in itself. There were real sparks with Karen and Becky because they were likeable, engaging characters and Steve worked well with both of them.
Simon Gregson had sometime off last year with an illness, depression??? and I am wondering if this has affected the way he acts the part of th character, because he was never that bad before |

No the kids aren't overweight themselves but I meant promoting childhood obesity in general with showing an irresponsible parent buying four massive donuts for each young child.

Whats the betting that Anna Wndyar$e will be back behind the counter at Roys next week selling barm cakes and giving the factory girls their cakes for the cake run and her accident will be conveniently forgotten

most Lilly's I know are spelt with two 'L's
I imagine the different spellings are linked to class, so if all your Lillies are from the same school that might explain it? Quote:

If Carla was health conscious she would have given up the booze long before the bacon buttys.
