By what mechanism do people you haven't seen or spoken to for years know that you've just acquired a computer? Even if Rita joined facebook or twitter (and why would she? ) what name would she register under?

And have her old friends been searching for a name on these sites every hour?

Had to laugh at the totally predictable "grinning while facing the other way" that Phelan was doing after telling Kevin how misunderstand and unfortunate he'd been in his dealings with Owen, Gary and Anna.

Its also totally predictable that he'll swindle Kevin and probably Jason, which could gives Jason his exit story and make us all squirm again - except those posters currently indulging in repetitive schoolboy smut bout Anna. Another rinse and repeat storyline, which all characters seem to have to have.

I wonder if the writers deliberately gave Phelan a name which encourages those with a juvenile sense of humour to read it as "feeling". They need sacking they did in an attempt to be humerus. Don't think the currrent writers know what real humour is.

Why doesn't Anna just tell Kev all about what she did with Phelan, the worst case scenario is that he'll be so disgusted that he'll dump her? As they've only had a few dates, then it shouldn't be any big loss to her

Must have been a rather flimsy contract Kevin had with that other builder if he could just bin him off like that.

One day last week didn't Phelan offer to tell Kevin what the history was between him and Anna although you never heard what he said?

If he did what on earth has he told him as it clearly isn't the truth?

The bit I don't get is that the build/conversion has seemingly been going on for some time but no one has seen hide nor hair of the workers, not in The Rovers, the cafe or heaven forbid the bistro.

Now admittedly I'm basing my experience of the police on The Bill, Lewis and Midsommer Murders, but... wouldn't CID woman have done a quick computer search on Steph before going to see her? Then she'd have discovered that she recently reported Jamie to Weatherfield police and that he was out on bail? Also, wouldn't Jamie have been the first person Steph thought of, rather than having a Columbo 'oh wait a minute' moment?

I did wonder about this. People she knew before she even married Len would have no way of knowing her latest married name unless they've been secretly stalking her for the last 50 years.

Ironically it would have made more sense to use (the hitherto ITV- owned!) Friends Reunited as the hook rather than Facebook because at least Rita would then immediately be on a searchable list with parameters for people to find her (ie. old friends would know her school at least) - but obviously that's no more as of just the other day

I suppose so. And actually now I think about it, if she'd put Bessie Street Juniors or whatever then that might be a similar flag to bring her name up with her old friends. Maybe not entirely far-fetched.

They missed a trick by not actually creating a real profile for Rita on Facebook where they could post stuff relating to the storyline. Even if they only kept it up for a couple of months before "she" posted she was leaving Facebook in a flounce! There are a couple of "Fictional Character" entries on there for her but I don't think they're "official" and have anything to do with the show...

He admitted to working with Owen and ripping him off. Said he was changed character and regretted it. Never mentioned blackmailing Anna into sex

In normal circumstances would CID woman conduct her informal chat with Steph at one of the tables/in the snug at the Bistro for the world and his wife to nosy in on or would Steph have suggested going back to her flat (which is only round the corner) to talk more privately?

Also when Luke came into the Bistro the first thing CID woman said to him was "who are you?". For all she knew he could just be a regular customer coming in for a meal or a drink. To instantly attack him as he came through the door seemed a bit odd.

I don't know why they can't just attach a small hairpiece to the back of a customer's own hair and be seen snipping away at the fake hair. Would be much more realistic instead of the constant combing and patting.

And the second point, yes, they could occasionally show an actor leaving the salon after a real offscreen haircut. How much more realistic would it be than the actors 'after' style looking exactly the same. Very amateurish stuff.

You'd still get people on here saying they were "cutting the wrong way" Unless an actor coincidentally has a hairdressing qualification or takes De Niro-esque "method" snipping lessons I think we're stuck with stuff like that...

Aud's twiddling with Ken's hair was ridiculous last night - even by Corrie's standards - I guess she was praying for the scene to end - I was getting little tense on her behalf!
