Is it supposed to be Saturday Nov 5th in Coronation Street?
Surely you are aware that bonfire/ firework displays are not just held on the 5 th, but on several days before and after ?

That's the actor not the character. Marc Anwar (Sharif) is from Pakistan and Shelley King (Yasmeen) is Indian.
Whoops, that's awkward.

I did check.
Fair enough, there is a display in a pub in St Helens tonight, and a very large display in a park in Leeds, but really, they are few and far between tonight.
Why would you bother when the actual day falls on a Saturday?

Its fair to assume that's its Saturday as the factory didn't appear to be open.

Eva the Liliy Savage/Becky McDonald lookie-likie.

Eva's ok but Corrie has more attractive women. As a character, she's pampered, mollycoddled and annoying. i hope Aidan dumps her for Maria and then Eva becomes an edgy character instead of an spoilt, pouting bimbo.

Yasmin revealing Sharif and Sonia's affair at her grandson's engagement party in front of Rana's parents.

You would want to do this in private, surely.

Exactly what I thought. It seemed very out of character for Yasmin to do this as she thinks alot about her grandchildren especially after the death of her son. Surely she would not have wanted to embarass her grandson like this at his party and would have done the confrontation in private

In India (where I assume the Nazirs are originally from) to address elders as Aunty and Uncle is a sign of respect.

I was bought up in the 60s in the Midlands and i know that here and in the North parents friends were always adrressed as aunt and uncle, i am neither Muslim nor Indian/Pakistani

When the announcer said before Corrie started that some viewers may find it distressing I thought it might be something to do with Anna's burns. But no, he obviously meant the much loved Michelle O'Connor aka Macdonald wouldn't be appearing
I thought is was about the photos of Anna's burns.

I agree, in Liverpool when I grew up in the thirties and forties we children referred to my parents good friends as Aunt or Uncle. A little confusing at times as I had two Aunty Ethels, two Aunty Lilys (and a sister) and two Uncle Charlies, one related and one just family friend.
I had forgotten all about that until you mentioned it.

Why has Anna still got tubes up her nose?
They will be monitoring the amount of oxygen in her blood and will leave the tubes supplying extra oxygen until her body, which has been traumatised by being burnt, can circulate sufficient oxygen to her cells on its own.

Oh yes, it was the same in the North west, but not normally to strangers.

What about Mum's 'special' male friend? Wasn't he referred to as Uncle ?

Yes, but you wouldnt, as an adult, call vague relations-to-be who you have never met Aunty and Uncle, would you?
It is not used in the same way.

When we were growing up we would never refer to anyone as Auntie or Uncle unless they were actually Auntie or Uncle, adult friends of parents were always referred to as Mr or Mrs followed by their surname.

No apparently she murdered her and dumped the body in the 10min between getting out the TAXI and going to the pub, She has no car so where is the body?

Have they asked what time she got back or went to the pub!

Today the police cleared her the phone proves the messages were sent from Whether field we saw Caz sending them didn't We?!

This hole story is really winding me up!
Also the credit card used to buy the PAYG phone would have been used in a phone shop or supermarket in Weatherfield/Manchester when Maria was miles away in London. She would have transactions in London on the cards she showed the officer proving that she couldn't be in two places at once.

How does Caz know the PIN number of Maria's card. Don't you usually keep the same PIN number even when you receive a new card?
