Sonia is still around because the actress will still be under contract till whenever Marc Anwar's contract would have ended, I guess with them leaving together. So whilst it makes no sense for Sonia her to stick around they still have to employ the actress who is contracted to appear in XX number of episodes until a given date.
contract wise it's the same as when Top Gear finished when Clarkson was sacked, Hammond and May would have still be under contractual obligations to continue with the series which is why we got that rather bitty 'what's left of top gear' episode. |

Hear'say. Not sure what the weirdly placed apostrophe was for in that name.
She will probably name her child after something that is deemed lucky or variations on word (as in we're lucky to have her) e.g. Clover, Chance, Fortune, |

did they actually WATCH the episodemaria went to the salon / david told her to leave / she took her equipment and left / we see here in the background of the next scene going into her flat whilst michael and andy are cleaning the gutter at number eight / maria goes into the rovers, hears the gossip gets upset and leaves, meanwhile caz has got in her flat / eva follows maria across the road and convinces her to go back to her flat whilst caz is still inside marias flat / whilst maria is at evas flat caz finds the scissors and cuts herself as well as installing a fully armed and operational CCTV system, Wonder if she worked in surveillance in the army anyway apart from that why was Jenny getting all shitty with maria considering she was treated like the child snatcher of weatherfield after abducting Jack, she'd be more likely to side with maria against the gossips |

QUOTE=tuppencehapenny;84495389]I wondered about that too. There's been no build-up to this rather abrupt discovery last night. Is this going to be significant in some way, or just another of the dead-end events that are so common on Corrie.
And thinking of these, whatever happened to Liz's new man and her pretending to be Amy's mother? Has that just fizzled out?[/quote] I'm interested in where this deafness story is going. I am almost profoundly deaf and had to smile when Pat told Eileen she was lip reading. I have been at lip reading classes for a couple of years and it is very difficult, so if Eileen starts doing immediately it will be yet another SOR. |

Monday's episodes had a glaring mix up of scenes in the Caz/Maria storyline.
In the first episode we first see Caz hiding in a corner of Maria's hallway. She freezes when Maria and Eva are at the door. Eva thankfully for Caz talks Maria into going somewhere else. Then in the next episode we see Caz moving around a lot in the flat. She cuts herself on the scissors. Then we have Steve and Michelle on the 'despondent' bench. (When both characters were in good spirits which is a SOR in itself) As Steve and Michelle are there she is trapped and at the end of the scene she is in exactly the same spot in the corner of Maria's hallway. Clearly the two door scenes were suppose to be the other way around. Caz has done what she needs to in the flat and goes to leave but Steve and Michelle are blocking the way. She is stuck in the hallway and this is way she is still there when Maria arrives home. |

Exactly what I thought. The buyers know where the flats are supposedly going to be, and Phelan and Vinnie can hardly hide the fact that they aren't actually doing anything there. You might say it's a bit of an obvious flaw in their plan.
And it's still irritating that there seems to be no awareness that some of the buyers, such as Sarah, can't afford to pay for them. She is talking as if that deposit was all the money needed to buy a flat. |

And Jenny! She is another one without any money or other property to sell prior to buying this new flat! And I have forgotten did Dame Rita pay her deposit and is she going to finance the rest, or have I got totally baffled and Rita and Jenny are moving to the "new flat" together?

I think Rita was planning to just buy the flat for Jenny on the basis that she can't take her money with her and doesn't have anyone else to leave it to.
Very generous of Rita, especially considering not that long ago when she first reappeared Rita wanted nothing to do with her due to her past misdemeanors |

I thought the same. She picked them up in the salon and then they magically appeared in her flat
![]() Also, where is Caz staying? I presume its local I thought she was homelessQuote:
This Maria Vs Caz must be the stupidest story in the whole world of stupid stories. There is absolutely nothing credible about it and the acting is appalling. As someone else has posted, it could've been a great tension builder and a clever plot but of course the GBP are treated with no respect for any intelligence, so we have to see Caz appear in the shadows in the very episode we are meant to think she has been murdered (just in case we didn't get there by ourselves and realise it was a set up). Of course nobody hanging about the street saw her and the plod won't bother to investigate all the obvious things which have sprung to everyone's mind in the SOR thread.
And don't get me started on the Maria/Meeshell push, shove, go to the docs for a check up, everything OK, thank goodness Robert was there to tend the bar and give sympathy thing. The woman hardly moved! And babies names??? She likes traditional names like ... Ryan. Anyway it's obvious it will be a girl and will probably be called Meeshell Connor MacDonald. We all know she'll name it something that isn't presently used on the street. |

Why didn't David hear the noise from the salon. This SL must take the record for SORs. |

How come all Maria's clients had heard about her bother with Caz and all of them had cancelled? David said something like: Well, you are up on a murder rap. Really?

Caz manages to not be seen by anyone, and set up a webcam etc use Maria's credit card in London and the police haven't looked at the cctv yet to verify who was using it. Phelans apartments stuff has been going on for quite some time and the residents sti believe his pathetic lies about not being able to see the property yet. |

This didn't make a lot of sense, especially as someone pointed out the other day, David's clients seem happy to have their hair cut by a psycho!
I'd imagine it's very small and hidden around books or boxes or something on a shelf high up. I doubt it's fixed to the wall. Not sure how it's powered though. We did have a hidden cam at work a few years ago, to catch a thief, and the lens was incorporated into a logo on a file |

She is stuck in the hallway and this is way she is still there when Maria arrives home. regardless of steve & michelle on the bench stopping Caz from leaving, the scene of her stuck in the lobby when maria and Eva were there was before the scenes of her in the flat so make no sense. she goes in, comes down nearly gets caught goes back up does the scissor thing, goes to leave, sees steve and michelle on the bench and hides. that scene of her nearly being caught would have made more sense for Caz to be in the flat and hear Maria and Eva down stairs why are we better at putting together coherent sensible scenes than the people who are paid to do so. I have seen better amalgamated story writing from a group of seven years olds in key stage one literacy on the national curriculum. |

The writers are making up the Maria and Caz storyline as they go along, it is a terrible badly thought out storyline which just doesn't add up at all. It must have started with the rough idea that Caz was going to take revenge on Maria and started fairly sensibly when she manipulated Kirk into staying and started using Maria's new card. That bit is believable I suppose but then somebody had the idea of Caz setting up her fake murder and it has just spiralled out of control and each twist gets more implausible and stupid.
The writers are hiding behind the Weatherfield police are stupid and thick policy so Caz can turn up unseen at Maria's flat and set her up. In real life this would have been sorted out in a matter of days using the surveillance available to them but it is Corrie law that the police must be blinkered and pin the blame on the innocent person at all times. |

Movement activated with, say, a 36 hour battery, like those used for wildlife programmes?
We did have a hidden cam at work a few years ago, to catch a thief, and the lens was incorporated into a logo on a file And there is sound on it as well, which is pretty unusual. So there must be hidden microphones as well which also use fairly significant highspeed broadband?? |

Don't those Webcams need wireless broadband to do continuous streaming? Caz must be pretty certain the Broadband in Maria's flat is on 24/7...

Some folks monitor security cameras in their own homes from across the world, watching a spy camera from a few hundred yards away is easy peasy. |

I am well aware that these forums are not the place for political points, but I cannot resist asking if, when Donald is installed as President, will they rename Washington as Trumpington?
