Well as you said, each to their own.
Corrie is averaging about 5.5/10 for me the last few weeks. Under Blackburn it probably averaged 2.5-3. The characters are gelling more, the plots seem to be woven better.
There's still a lot of work to do but I'm enthused by the new Barlow clan coming along and generally I think Kate Oates is going to tell better stories and use the cast a lot better; the evidence is starting to show already (IMO of course).
Telling that the FB lot are moaning about continuity errors (which are being picked up in the press) but actually they're not errors, they just weren't paying close enough attention. Example being the scissors and how they got there. That could be because they're used to more simplified storytelling? Just a thought.
(That is not to say there are not a load of SORs in Corrie but then I think there always have been, and kind of always will be - and they exist across all soaps and most dramas too)
