It's unreal how far the quality has dropped. Every episode it is so easy to find the holes in this stupid Caz/Maria storyline. Even on Facebook people have pointed out the flaws and the stupidity of the plot on the official Corrie page, but no doubt it will be overlooked by those working at Corrie who must think they are doing a swell job.

It's weird because I'm really enjoying the show on the whole lately. It flows much better and character interaction is just night and day compared to what it was a few months ago (and for the entirety of Blackburn's reign).

Well as you said, each to their own.
Corrie is averaging about 5.5/10 for me the last few weeks. Under Blackburn it probably averaged 2.5-3. The characters are gelling more, the plots seem to be woven better.
There's still a lot of work to do but I'm enthused by the new Barlow clan coming along and generally I think Kate Oates is going to tell better stories and use the cast a lot better; the evidence is starting to show already (IMO of course).
Telling that the FB lot are moaning about continuity errors (which are being picked up in the press) but actually they're not errors, they just weren't paying close enough attention. Example being the scissors and how they got there. That could be because they're used to more simplified storytelling? Just a thought.
(That is not to say there are not a load of SORs in Corrie but then I think there always have been, and kind of always will be - and they exist across all soaps and most dramas too)

I think there was a lot of rewriting because they couldn't do what they originally intended to (Mad Maya's trial).

Fine, that's your opinion. I am not going to go on forever about it. And yes, there are a lot of continuity errors and cliches which have been pointed out several times so I am not going to type them up again.
I don't get the tiptoeing around Oates, considering that if this was under Blackburn you'd no doubt let it rip. Not that I am completely critical as I have actually liked the stuff with the Nazirs, especially the aftermath of Sharif's departure. Just the things with Caz is nonsense, which is a pity as I looked forward to it.

Agreed, as a lifetime Coronation Street fan I had hopes that the new producer would improve the quality of the show, but it's woeful. The Caz storyline is pathetic IMO.

I'm perfectly capable of judging something objectively. If Blackburn had produced it I'd have praised it. Lately it's been better in my opinion. Marginally, but noticably. The Maria SL is just one of many going on right now so for people to be doubling in on it like it's the only thing happening, is a little bizarre.
Where we do agree is the Nazir stuff, I also have enjoyed that too.

Sarah is a gorgeous little thing and so is Maria. Eva is ok but not as lovely as the other women mentioned. Those lips of hers get bigger every episode.

There are still lots of SORs in Corrie. This Maria SL is full of them. However, there is far more layering of SLs. They are not so one dimensional these days. Maria has stuff going on with Caz and with Aidan and from what I've read there's more to come.
A new producer can only deal with a finite number of issues at a time. I like what's happening with Maria's SLs but not the glaring SORs. It's going to take some time to sort out all Corrie's problems. We should give the new producer a year but in the meantime - keep spotting those SORs!! And let's hope the crappy filler stuff like Michelle and her failing business -eg. the footballers wedding and the 40th birthday party get less and less.
Why would a complete random person have their 40th birthday party in the Rovers? It's hardly a venue is it?

As a female I would advise you to definately choose Sarah. She is a much prettier and natural woman. Whereas Maria has a face like a creased piece of paper as her main acting stay is to frown constantly and Eva, well if I were a man her huge legs would put me right off

I'm not liking the colour of Maria's hair at the moment. It looks kind of grey in places and I don't think the colour overall suits her. Brown hair with blonde highlights suits her much better.
Why was Aidan sleeping on the sofa? It's a 3 bedroom flat and previous guests haven't had to sleep there. It's the opposite of the Platts where everyone goes upstairs even though there couldn't possibly be enough beds up there.
