If Todd discovered Michael in the morning, why did he wait till it was dark to phone Eileen?

One minute everyone's in the bar, the next Eileen and Gail are in the back room, the next they're all in the bar again.

Why would Eileen have assumed that Gary and Anna would know about Michael when she'd only just heard herself?

Gail is taken in't back to have the bad news broken to her by Eileen, then we see her sitting in a booth in the bar, the medicinal brandy and a slightly dejected expression being the only indicators that she has just lost her husband.
I know Gail is an old hand at bereavement but I really think there was a lack of believability in her reaction and the Platts as a whole too. Later back at home they were all sitting around discussing getting fish and chips whilst Gail sat there looking a bit upset; as if she'd just found out the boiler was broken rather than her husband was dead.

I had forgotten about that, but would Eileen really have access to the bank account?
In the real world a couple of scammers wouldn't have wanted her anywhere near the account in case she copped on what was going on.
But this is CS

That man has had a lot of changes in career.

Head of English at a high School
Headteacher in a primary school
Job in a museum
Environmental Health Officer
Weatherfield Recycling Tzar

Whatever next?
Time for her to go too, rotten actress, sick of her whining too.

Yes, it was a bit bereavement-lite.

Yes. She insisted on the basis that Jason's £60k was being invested and she wanted to be responsible for it on Jason's behalf.

The meeting in the caf when both Roy and Cathy were working!

How many weddings did Michelle successfully plan

I agree. I never noticed him when he was with Julie but after 2/3 episodes he's already getting on my nerves!

How insensitive was Sean, gassing about Gail's previous relationships?

FAB.

Didn't take her long to mooch off Rita!
Nah more like Rita is always on the lookout for a young, vulnerable girl to take under her wing.
Gemma is her new Tina.
No wonder the mature Jenny was looking miffed.....she knows Rita is putting her out to pasture.

Wouldn't the police have turned up to break the news of Michael's death to Gail?

£30,000 is a fair whack - didn't Jason have about £60,000? And as far as we have seen only about 3 people on the street have paid their £15,000 deposit So just how much was left in the kitty for Vinnie to make off with?
Probably the best storyline ATM, (the Maria one being beyond ridiculous), however the money has never added up. Eileen spent £30,000 of the initial £60,000. That money is gone as the tiles were on sale and there's no refund. Then you have 3 partners each getting a share PLUS Todd insisting that neither Sarah or Jason lose their money. There were costs for the office & printing & we barely saw any flats being sold by anyone. Each partner was wanting at least £80,000 to be able to retire "for life" - so £240,000 in total. That means selling at least 140 apartments (not counting Sarah) plus one more to cover costs - with NO BUYER ever checking on the progress. NO WONDER Vinnie took the pittance and ran.
Sure hope Phelan dumps Eileen. She's horrid & I can't fathom any man being attracted to her.

Also really hope Roy dumps Cathy. What Brian said should have struck home - if you're not madly in love, then don't do it.

The wonderful Michelle conducting a wedding planning meeting in a greasy spoon.

And as someone up-thread said, another one goes tits up.

She must run that business at a loss, surely?

Has that pink folder ever been opened?

Also, the building behind the "site office" - who owns it and, even if it's derelict, wouldn't their activities ne noticed?

No reason, except that it is funny because he is fat, therefore is easily bought round with food. Just like in his last stint he was mostly seen eating all the time.

But like Corrie care about continuity. And where has Nick gone to again? For a man who was so desperate to get back the Bistro who seems to take a lot of time off.
Gemma looks like something out of Thunderbirds!

I'm just so relieved that the dreadful Peter Andre didn't make an appearance. cannot stand the too good to be true man

Kevin's just randomly visiting his sister. (actor on holiday?) no mention of Jack.

Do any writers actually have any interaction with children and realise that if you have kids you cant randomly sod off on holiday with out either taking them with you and pissing off the school obsessed government and getting a fine, or somebody is looking after him.

Sophie is abroad with Rosie so she can't be minding him unless they forgot that

big time jump, one minute it's early morning then suddenly in the cafe it's 2:30pm.
was Simon seeing his g/f after school?

I've followed this thread for a long time but never posted. This did make me do an actual LOL. My boiler broke down a few weeks ago and I was more upset about that than Gail was about Michael dying

Did we ever find out who paid for the fish and chips?

What Vinne needed to go with his shirt was a big bag with SWAG written on it

Its a bit unrealistic that Kevin would visit his sister while Anna is hobbling around skinless and traumatised.

Yes definitely. I was waiting for them to walk into the Rovers. As far as they're concerned Gail may not even know yet.

Vinnie wearing his Hawaiian shirt to make it obvious he's going away. How obvious
And didn't mind wearing it in Manchester in mid-November when it's bound to be freezing! A bit like Tracy with her short-sleeve blouse last night.

Gail has had a lot of practice in bereavement, as one chapter closes, another book is waiting in the library! As Aristotle never said.

How about Brian as the next victim, sorry, husband.
That would be one in the eye for Eileen, marrying her sister's ex.
