Gail has a special widows and orphans insurance account, from when she was first married.
She pays a small amount every week which soon mounts up as it can only be used for current husbands.
The man from the Pru used to call each week but now it is paid by direct debit, probably from all her widow's pensions.

Gail also has her own section at the cemetery for her dead husbands.

That's nice, and she can pay her respects to them all in one visit.

Would one bunch of flowers for them all be acceptable?

I find it odd that Daniel would turn to payday loans given he's the 'intelligent' Barlow. Then again, desperate times call for....

Many more dead husbands, and they'll have to exhume a few of the neighbours to make room

The back of the Barlows is a mystery to me. From inside the kitchen the door is clearly at the side. Yet when we saw Adam the door is on the back wall.

It's the same at the Windass flat. On the outside, the door and stairs are on the right of the property and so should be on the right side of the lounge on the inside. But inside the flat they are the left.

The Barlows kitchen extrends across the back room window which must (but doesn't) make it very dark in there

the windass flat used to be accessed from victoria street so the flat layout made sense, quite why the built the new entrance on rosamund street is beyond me, but the stairs can go behind the kitchen area and dogleg right to the door.

none the of flat layouts match the outsides very well. how the hell the fit marias and katie's flats above the salon / taxi office building or ritas flat / number 12 above the kabin makes no sense at all. (Rita's must be three bed now with Gemma and Jenny there) so is flat 12 one bed?

Are we sure he didn't just have his tonsils removed? Bit of a gruff voice, but otherwise fine.

What happened to his ice cream van? Will that be forgotten about or will it appear outside Gail's next time they need a hilarous dash to the hospital and its the only vehicle to go in. Say when Michelle or Leanne goes into labour, I can see it now.

All these long lost kids of Ken's are too much. He's gone from gurning Tracey to having three sons as well overnight. I know they came back after Ken's stroke (which like Anna's burns seems to have almost have miraculously gone) but why didn't they appear after Deidree died or for Christmas visits or birthdays?

Ken's been told to phase out the dreadful 'stroke acting' of talking out the side of his mouth, he was almost speaking normally last night.”

LOL

Why didn't he use his ice cream van to get to the yard? Where has it been these last few weeks? (In the magic lock-up along with Mary's and all the others I guess).

Forget the factory that's been in debit for the past few years due to strong competition from Asia. Open up Corrie's equivalent of Lourdes - Gemma can take the money, wearing her new badge of 'newly assimilated character reformation'.

This journey into proleteriat country will all be forgotten about when he wears the mantle of 'he who knows everything, is snooty and cultured'.

what about parents evenings, permission slips for school trips and such, needing parents signatures for stuff. and neighbours would notice an abandoned teen as well

According to Corriepedia it was 2007 so 9 years ago.

Yes, in late 2011.

Ken went to visit them off screen in late 2011. According to the show, Denise "abandoned" Daniel when he was 15, placing it at some point in 2010.

Why Corrie picked six years ago I have no idea, unless there is more to this story.

The outside looks like it has been extended but the inside doesn't. From the inside, the kitchen doesn't seem like it's been extended and the door still seems to be on the side.

The Windass flat stairs might dogleg round but it doesn't make sense! The original layout you mentioned was far more sensible.

Is that big piece of tarpulin still blocking the road in between the Victoria Court flats and the gym?

Two sons and a grandson (Adam is his late daughter Susan's son with Mike Baldwin).

I knew his stroke recovery wouldn't last long. Corrie are very impatient when it comes to showing recoveries from injuries. It's like well we've shown the big dramatic incident but we can't have the individual in hospital too long so we'll get them on the road to recovery in no time.

Patrick in EE took a good 18 months/2 years to recover from his stroke

Also Patrick's his acting was far superior to one note actor - old grimacer Barlow.

The Barlow's kitchen interior does match the outside, with the door in the correct place, it's just that it's never or at least very rarely seen.

I don't understand why folks are going on about Ken's portrayal of "a stroke" as if there is just one way that a stroke can affect people.

There are so many ways that people can be affected, from someone not even knowing that one has occurred, putting it down to "having a funny turn"' to someone else being totally incapacitated, with permanent brain damage!

There is just no right or wrong way to act like someone who "has had a stroke".

If you want to criticise any silly way to portray a medical condition, look no further than Anna the fishwife. For anyone to act as she is doing just a short time after serious burns on her legs and extensive skin grafts is just beyond credibility and is just insulting the viewers intelligence!

But Patrick was and is and has always been played by a fine actor.

Barlow has never been much more than a robotic performer.

It's an even bigger mystery to me. I've never seen the inside of their house. The Barlow's are either in the pub, jail or hospital and Peter is either in somebody else's bedroom or shipping up to Boston. The odd time Ken is sitting in Audrey's chair getting his golden mane trimmed before he walks to the canal to tune the barge lady up. But maybe I'm just nitpicking.
