AND wasn't there a suggestion there was some problem with her parents, which was also quickly forgotten.
Be discreet!

You've just given the scriptwriters an excuse to find a barrel, bottom for the scraping of, so that more nonsense can be dished up, all in the guise of an everyday tale of northern folk

When she finally manages to get him to bed that thing on his head will be doing somersaults. I expect he will have to ask his granny "what do I do now?"

Yasmeen will be cheering and encouraging them from the bedside as they consummate their marriage.

No EW, spot on. An attractive man not boy wandered randomly into the bistro for a mini showdown with Rana, never to be seen again. RandZ have become the latest couple with zero chemistry who have been thrown together without time to grow and become believable .
Zero chemistry and no real personalities. What exactly do they actually do? All Rana does is hang around Zeedan and all he does is look angry about something.

AND wasn't there a suggestion there was some problem with her parents, which was also quickly forgotten.
I seem to remember something. I did think for a while that Rana's mother was the one having the affair with Sharif but then Sonia turned up.

There definitely was some sort of problem with Rana's parents because she was trying to avoid Zeedan's family having to meet them but we never found out why and now, like so many other stories, it's been completely forgotten about.

I also thought that it was her mum having an affair with Sharif.

Rana referred to the civil ceremony they have yet to have, so I take it this was a kind of ceremonial, religious wedding which isn't legal marriage, though obviously they consider themselves married.

It was daft, though, and why Rana should want to marry sulky boy Zeedan defeats me. It's all been carried out in such pointless haste.
Exactly this. I'm baffled by all the unnecessary haste - I mean, what for??

I can't decide if it's the writers or Production we have to blame for all the rubbish being churned out - so many plot holes, it's an insult to the viewers.

Just said something about this on another thread. (Rana and Zeedan.) And the speed the wedding was arranged was utterly pathetic and laughable.

Wasn't there some aspersions cast at Rana some time ago by some blokes in the bistro which came to nothing. Or was it all dream and I just woke up?
There were. Plus, as another poster said, Rana 1.0 (high maintenance, man-eating vamp) was desperate for Zeedan not to meet her parents, with hints she was hiding a racy past. Like her parents would brag about it

Then when Rana 2.0 (valued healthcare worker, family therapist, adorer of petulant kitchen hand) finally had to let them meet, she went off on one when her parents joked mildly about her previous boyfs.

What are we supposed to make of it all... there are hints of a difficult relationship with mummy, but the flouncing all seems to be on Rana's side.

Gosh, I do hope they sort it all out.

Where are Zeedan and Rana living now - with Yasmeen?

Why all the haste, why the cancellation? It's almost like Corrie wanted a Muslim wedding lite, you know, a hint of multiculturalism without the tons of guests and other traditions, all of which were sidestepped.

This ^^

Let's not forget that the other Muslim party gatherings (opening of the Orangerie being the most notable) have consisted of another mute ethnic couple plus Roy and Cathy.

... nothing else rather exhibits that he is little more than an ensemble actor.

And one-dimensional one capable of displaying a range of emotions from a to ... er ... a as well.

For me Zeedan is the character I hate the most in the whole street and he up against some pretty stiff competition. He is so moody and sulky and I was really hoping Rana would tell him where to to last night. Why anybody would want to marry somebody like him who acts like his train set has been taken away over the slightest little thing. He certainly hasn't changed personality since he first came in to the Street when he was sulking at the cricket game that was hastily put on by Dev and Sharif.

Zeedan has got to be the cleanest commis chef ever, always has wonderful whites on. Totally unrealistic in a commercial kitchen. Not like Corrie to makes mistakes. 😚

Yep, that'd work, in the grand tradition of recycled storylines. They'll have to work harder on making us give a hoot though.

I've really enjoyed the previous Muslim and Hindu weddings on EE and Corrie. They are so beautiful and colourful. In EE, Syed rode an horse around the square on the way to his wedding.

I think that mad woman ruined Dev and Sunita's wedding but it was still gorgeous.

A wedding in Corrie has to involve either/and/or Michelle Connor, the bistro, the Rovers and little else. Will Roy push the boat out for Cathy?

Rana and Zeedan had their reception at the bistro. It seems from Roy's tasting of the hors d'oeuvres that they will have their reception at the bistro.
Spoiler

Then, hopefully, throw her overboard.

Now, now. It will be flowers from Tracy, hairdo at Audrey's, reception at Nick's Bistro and if needed cars from Steve and Tim. Is the bistro licensed for weddings yet? It would save Corrie a lot of fannying about and bother by going to a registry office/set.

I've edited! Sorry.

I got the impression that the wedding celebrant, rather like Billy, didn't have anything else to do all day, so he simply sat around waiting for them to turn up.

(As an aside, and totally OT, I inadvertantly gatecrashed the end of a Muslim wedding in Medan, Indonesia, and the guests couldn't have been more understanding and welcoming.)

Why would they? Ken never had further contact with Lawrence due to his homophobia and Lawrence was annoyed with Ken, and James tried to rob Ken before attacking him and going on the run.

They were two characters simply introduced to have Bill Roache's sons on the show. They have no real importance on the history of the show.
