The first responders know when they get a call for the hair salon it's Audry. By the time they arrive they already have a moderately priced bottle of bathtub gin attached to an intravenous to stick into her arm and she's good to go. It doesn't require a trip to triage.
I suppose if Rita has a bit of a turn you should just phone Newton and Ridley direct?

The ambulances are only ever delayed in Soaps when someone's having a baby and then they're delayed for hours not minutes and a crowd of randoms always get to see the expectant mother's private bits.

Ken must never leave the street! It would be like the ravens leaving the Tower of London

Very specific wasn't she? And her feeling so poorly too!

Anyway instead of worrying about Audrey, Ken looked delighted. Scored again! Get in! Yeesss! Despite telling Nessa that a relationship was too soon about his beloved Deirdre's passing, about two days later he was chasing Audrey. And now Ken has Audrey within his grasp. No doubt he'll be doing her as soon as she's got over her funny turn.
Thanks for the laughs, guys, it's what we need on this thread, rather than what certain people would like to do to Phelan
The rules of the street state that even though Audrey mmm lives in a very nice three bedroom house in an attractive part of town she will give that up and live with Ken and Tracey and Amy and Robert in the 1950's decorated house they all share.
You can guarantee it!

Even if Audrey has developed feelings for Ken, it seems very unlikely they would be reciprocated......more likely he would be completely bemused his friend and neighbour of decades was announcing her "love" for him.

Thanks and you can keep that tongue to yourself. You never know what might happen to your bits on this thread!

Well, whatever he feels, he's been chasing her. She's definitely next on his 'to do' list.

Sophie Webster is ruining Corrie for me now. The character has become unbelievably annoying and more mardy-assed than ever.
Even the way she has suddenly started dressing in that stupid poncho thing is irritating

oops, wrong thread, sorry

back to ken an audrey, before Anne kirkbride died, a year ago, there was the start of a ken / audrey story where they became friends and deidrie would think the were having an affair. Ken lent audrey a book which she could't get her head round. the story was quickly dropped before it started but I think the writers have gone from that into this relatioship

Audrey could have at least leaned sideways on the sofa. She didn't look a bit sick, she looked like she was having a nice sit down. They could have made her face up really white or something. I don't know how Ken managed to assess that she wasn't well and needed an ambulance.
And they should have showed her sweeping outside and then coming back in to explain the open salon door. The shot of the open saloon door was added later, because the scriptwriting-at-top-speed meant someone 'forgot' to explain how Ken was going to find her.

Has anyone noticed that in any of the soaps if one of the characters go to see somebody and they are a bit down on their luck.....when they go its always some seedy flat....there is always a dog barking....a baby crying...or loud music playing. The only one missing when Rita went to Jennys flat was the baby crying

All of those scenes were stupid. Why did Ken call an ambulance? Audrey might have only had a bad case of trapped wind for all he knew! And it just had to Ken who 'saved' her didn't it!

What's next for Audrey, a private room at the hospital and a tubes stuck up her schnozz?

Audreys 76 years old....suppose at her age you have to be careful. Ken is 77...so neither of them are getting any younger lol

Jenny's bedsit wasn't that bad. She had a double bed! That's upmarket for some bedsits. And the poor me I have no telly. Oh diddums. Not that expensive second hand. Not many can expect to come out of mental hospital with no job and get a luxury pad straight off. Her flat was fine. Once she gets a job she could move, that's what most people do. You've got to work for things on this life, Lady.

Audrey certainly didn't look like she was "dying". Sitting up, perfectly lucid, her breathing was normal, no signs of dizziness etc.

there was a baby crying, which sounds like every baby in corry because they have one generic baby cry in their sound library which they have used for all 28 babies born in the last 55 years from Paul Cheveski to Mylie Windass

and would a grieving mother who has lost her child be able to cope with a crying baby?

And don't forget that there has to be some graffiti sprayed on the walls or doors too.

He may be 77 but when it comes to the young ladies like Audry he's faster than nascar. It may be speculation on my part but that mane on his head makes him look like a crouching lion ready to pounce regardless if you're sitting on a couch or in a hospital bed, tubes up your nose and hooked up with a wiring harness from a Dodge ram truck.

Bet Corrie don't see him like that.

Ken Barlow is not a skirt-chasing Casanova, decadent wolf of Coronation Street or rakish louche.

To them Ken Barlow is an educated, respected cultured, suave, debonair gentleman who loves literature, the theatre, classical music, fine wines and knows everything. He is not a man who would disrespect the memory of his recently departed wife by bonking the first woman who came along, then dump her because of Deirdre's memory but as soon as she's gone go sniffing round the salon door at every opportunity looking to ensnare Audrey. No. Not Sir Kenneth Barlow. He wouldn't do that.
