Has anyone noticed that in any of the soaps if one of the characters go to see somebody and they are a bit down on their luck.....when they go its always some seedy flat....there is always a dog barking....a baby crying...or loud music playing. The only one missing when Rita went to Jennys flat was the baby crying
And don't forget that there has to be some graffiti sprayed on the walls or doors too.
I'd say that's probably more for a "soap cliches" than an SOR thread - all the above details are pretty realistic for "seedy flat" shorthand.

usually needs a child's bike outside, or a beat up car.

Will the bike with one wheel do instead? And don't forget the 'rough' teenagers.

Norris rambles on about Jennybradley to Rita at the corner shop, and who would walk in on them?

Rita arrives home.............Jack just happens to be with Sophie, while Anna's got her arms around Kevin, doing f'all and standing outside, as if they anticipated some homecoming.

Contrived nonsense.

So tonight in Coincidental Street, we had Norris droning on about Rita seeing Jenny and who happens to walk in at that moment in time? Sophie of course. Does Rita tell Norris to shut up as somebody walks in (which he apparently couldn't hear)? Nope, the classic making faces and gestures to tell Norris someone is behind him.

And of course Rita returns with Jenny and who happens to be hanging outside? Kevin, Sophie and of course Jack who has been missing for weeks.

It's moments like this I wish Digital Spy kept the roll eye smile.

Now someone has pointed it out, I noticed that horrendous poncho thing.

And what the hell did Rita have round her neck?

And once again no mention of why she didn't just go and pay the fine and retrieve it! But instead just let a £30K (approx value) motorhome plus her belongings be forgotten about.

Also where does Mary's mother live? I wish they would introduce her as a character, could be interesting

Actually I'm sure she was in the early episodes when Mary was introduced. I actually thought she'd died but I obviously got that wrong, and maybe I got the fact she was ever in in wrong too. I sleep a lot.

Yeah, she originally revealed to Norris that her mother was dead (they even went to her funeral). But during some episodes when she held him captive on holiday he discovered her mother was still alive when Mary spoke to her on the phone.

Rita was remarkably robust with those terrifying youths outside Jenny's flat, bearing in mind the last time she encountered similar she was reduced to a quivering wreck

You beat me to posting this. I'm no expert, but would there not be some sort of terms of release or something for Jenny that she couldn't go within so may miles of Kevin and Jack (who we haven't seen for months)?

Did anyone count how many times Tyrone randomly popped up to announce Hope being cancer-free? It's times like this I miss Harry Hill's TV Burp, no doubt he would have played on that.

Yes I thought that too, again change a character there is no way she would be so brave as she was today, considering how she acted last time. she is an old lady and would be afraid like last time

Shes a real character just never seen apart from this picture of her....

So, Luke says to Ty

"I've got 6 MOT's and then I've got to put a new engine in that"

MOT's would take around an hour each, so, assuming he works an 8 hour day, he's going to do the engine swap in 2 hours?! Hmmmm

That Sophie Webster's got a cheek. Didn't she bring a low life and a thief to live on the street to give her a second chance? But Rita's not allowed to have Jenny Bradley to stay.

What a load of hideous old witches in the Rovers tonight laughing at Mary's humiliation and distress. Corrie think it's OK to laugh and snigger because it's only Mary and she's a figure of fun. It was just downright nasty.

In Corrie, it's a rule that some characters can be laughed at and sniggered at because they are figures of fun and there are others who would never be treated in this way. That's one of the reasons Corrie is crap.

I'm really wracking my brains here and possibly have missed something blindingly obvious, but what connection does Luke have to Audreh or any of the other Platts, that made him feel obliged to go and visit her after her release from hospital?

I also wondered when she'd got her accountancy/book keeping qualification that meant she's not only revolutionised the garage's books but that Gail advised Audreh to consider utilising her skills?

Only thing I can think of is that Audrey is Maria's boss, in Corrieland that means he'd be inconsolable if anything ever happened to her... even though they haven't shared a scene for how long now?

Luke took Audrey for drives around the countryside.

It's nice that Corrie have done a knod to the past, but their last proper scenes together was a year ago. And that clip was in October 2014.

But still had time to bob round to Gail's with a box of chocolates for Audrey and stay for a cup of tea- it was still daylight so during work hours then.
