Nick noticed when they were delivered. Someone was being sent to collect them the next day.

Yes, for the waiting staff, I think that's what he said. Nick ordered 4 (or 2 - can't remember) and was sent too many. Yes, clearly an incompetent tablet selling company. But these things happen. Normally it's the Bistro's error - like every time they order olives.

The Andy stealing from the Bistro storyline is a complete rehash. He claimed to have been mugged before when bringing money to the bank - this is the second time he has ripped Nick off.

The olives thing wasn't a mistake. Lewis deliberately changed the order to make it look like Gail was incompetant

Yes Andy is definitely the criminal sort, identity theft being another of his crimes.

This gig in Leeds...

Firstly, why the need to stay in a hotel? Wouldn't a normal group of young people just hop on a train? Leeds isn't that far away, is it? And the hotel certainly wasn't one of your cheap chain hotels either, so who was paying for TWO rooms? And then we see them in the restaurant - again, not a cheap looking place, so yet again, who was paying for all of this? And why would you go to a posh restaurant prior to going to a gig anyway? Surely you'd go and get a burger from McDonalds or if you really wanted to splash out, Nandos.

What sort of gig was it that Bethany felt the need to dress as if she was off to a cocktail party? I don't remember anyone even mentioning the gig once they'd got to the hotel, so had they changed their plans?

All of the above tosh just to engineer Bethany trying to seduce Gary.

What a load of garbage.

Don't forget this is the same Bethany who we are supposed to believe was bullied at school.

True. Didn't it happen a second time?

No because they don't tend to show scenes from inside the streets residents toilets.

Awful eps as per usual lately.

- why did Faye kick off when Bethany was reading a magazine (provocatively?) on Gary's bed - they were all in Gary's room when Faye went to the shop so it was hardly a shock she was still there?
- why doesn't Andy just tell people that Phelan is threatening him and saying that he'll make a false allegation to the police saying he hit him, because Andy is blaming him for Michael's death? Then everyone would be on his side and as there's no evidence the police couldn't charge him.
- How quickly (and how, in fact, as she doesn't have a car) did Sarah get to Leeds? Given it was presumably early evening (going by events elsewhere on the street), how come she was OK leaving a sick baby who could just have been having a nap with her grieving mum? I live in Manchester and the drive to Leeds is an hour minimum in clear traffic.

^ This, totally this!

Or better still, record Phelan's blackmail threats, and then go to the Police and get him done for that!

Andy is too thick and dim-witted to think of that, plus it's good fun to see Phelan making Andy squirm and do his bidding.

Davids wallet still at the top of the bin, when Kylie2 looked for it, it must have been at least 24 hours since she threw it in there ?

Also.. Eileen still loves Phelan and wants to be with him, based on him getting a bash on the head apparently because he lost countless people their life savings including her own son? I'd have bashed him over the head myself! Eileen was never this soft!

Why haven't the police sussed there's no way Phelan couldn't have been in on the scam - given there was NO building taking place on the site whatsoever. Plus, if the site was purchased for development, can't Phelan sell it? And if it was only being rented that just proves he was in on the scam? It makes no sense whatsoever.

I entirely agree. Why not just get a train or drive over? Why have two posh rooms? Why have dinner? Why was Bethany in a posh frock? Why was Gary in a suit? They were going to a gig! Jeans, T-shirts, trainers and fast food would be the usual! Bethany trying to seduce Gary. What with Faye in the next room? It makes me want to swear. Effing stupid nonsensical bullsh!t SL.

That's how industrial bins work on CS - remember how easy it was to finds Maria's scissors in the one outside the factory!

Don't forget we are being subjected to yet another friggin' blackmail plot, where the blackmailed character folds very easily and does the baddies bidding, even if it means it will land them in bigger trouble. Andy should have stayed well clear of Phelan in the first place instead of going along to the hospital.

It just proves how lazy the writing is. I think they just dig up the old scripts and change the names of characters on them, as it is just the same. This Andy/Phelan situation is just the Phelan blackmailing Gary and Owen story with a bit of Tracy blackmailing Carla thrown in.

Yes, but this would mean using one's brain. But of course even if Andy attempted this Phelan's sixth sense would detect that Andy had some sort of recording device on him and suss him out.

phelan will have a callum magic key cut to andy's flat and waltz in unannounced when andy is alone to be more vile and threatening.

did the writers train with Hanna-Barbera writing dick dastardly scripts

I am just catching up, watching a week's worth of Corrie and wondering why the heck I'm bothering. The BIB really covers the entire programme from Anna walking around almost normally after another miracle cure, the 8pm packed nightclub scene featuring spaced out Sinead and bored/ing Chesney which is simply an excuse to get David paired up again, Mary looking for long lost son with the posse knocking on doors where there is a Jude living, the Panto villain and yet another blackmail plot. Admittedly we haven't actually seen a blackmail s/l for 2/3 weeks so that IS probably way overdue by now.

I haven't watched the 'Leeds scenes' yet so will have to fortify myself with several glasses of wine to get through those and I am already sick of Robert's growing desire for the lovely Meeshell, who he is indeed lucky to be in lust with.

Call me old fashioned but all this 'we are not dating it's just sex but we have to pretend for my daughter who thinks you're cool' bullocks just drives me nuts.

When will the producer have the courage to actually steer the Corrie ship into realistic waters and not insult the intelligence of the audience any longer. We just need continuity, chemistry and creativity which is believable and we can empathise, laugh and cry with, not roll eyes, groan and reach for the wine bottle/off switch/SOR forum.

And another friggin' blackmail plot different to the Andy/Phelan and Gary/Owen/Phelan is the Real Gavin/Fake Gavin/Gail blackmail plot where fake Gavin pretended to get mugged to pay off real Gavin.

Gail coughed up some of her own cash but did she know that fake Gavin/Andy ripped off Nick to make up the amount demanded?

Gary mentioned when Sarah rocked up something like 'we've got loads of time the gig doesn't start until nine.' Since when do concerts but start until June? Wasn't there a support act? And Sarah was all 'oh can we go another night' because bands do just do a few nights at a venue out of London don't they? I'm guessing this was all planned in advance with the hotel rooms and all?

I dread to think how bad this year's Christmas edition will be - even worse than the ridiculous one last year?

I suspect that in different threads than this very realistic and perceptive one, that many people paint a picture of everything being wonderful and rosy in Corrie.
