Just sat a watched four episodes back to back and made the following observations:
Christmas day episode opened with choir singing Last Christmas - very poignant (but obviously not planned) in the light of news of George Michael's sad death Nick was pushing the new buggy and confused his left and right hand! Nathan followed Billy and Shona from church but he was already waiting by the phone box when they arrived round the corner by Dev's shop! Three new blokes (Jude, Nathan and Toby) all very similar and had me confused at times! ![]()

It came out during the middle of it as Maria told the police about it herself. I think she wanted to give police a reason for Caz's supposed motives and also prove she had nothing to hide.
Whilst on the subject of time, I got lost completely by various loose groupings of people sitting having (Christmas?) meals at various times of day and on different days, opening presents etc. at times when they should have been at work. I ould not work out which was Christmas Day. The pub and the bistro were almost empty at what is traditional the busiest time of the year. The new producer created even dafter Christmas episodes than the silliness of last year. |

That's it!
Would an ex-vicar who wanted to become a vicar again really stand there and chat and whilst swigging the communion wine from a chalice? Unbelievable and surely sacrilege? Who writes this crap? |

Is there really any need for this kind of language? It's a soap for heavens sake, keep a sense of proportion and laugh at the errors and daft stories but don't bring the language of the sewers into it, it is totally uncalled for and unnecessary. |

Maybe I have had too much to drink over the last few days but I'm not sure I am following things.
We have new bloke No1 (Jude/Mary's son) who kind of just appears from nowhere and is all forgiving and invites his new found mum to up sticks and move to South Africa, which of course she instantly agrees to. New bloke No2 was sitting in the back of the church, apparently shaddowing the communion wine swilling woman, but then we see him picking up a drugged Bethany in his arms. We are later told that it was Tyrone who found her, but then Tyrone says that he ran into new bloke No2. Did new bloke No2 have his wicked way with her in the interim and will Tyrone get the blame a few episodes down the line when it transpires she is pregnant? New bloke No3 is presented as Toyah's husband. Thank god I understand this one! However we later find out that Peter's new woman in none other than his sister in law Toyah - whatare the chances of that happening! I think the writers have probably had a bit more to drink than me coming up with all this twaddle. |

Was it even mentioned in the Christmas Day episode that it was David's birthday?

I'm probably nit picking, but would Sarah have time to change her very nice black dress for another one later in the day. Surely a young mum like her would be concentrating on her mostly invisible small baby and teenager. Her hair was perfect too. Maybe I'm just a scruff

And Mary, being the gullible kind-natured lady that she is, doesn't for one second question if he is really her son and agrees to give up everything to swan off to S A with him. What utter twaddle!!!!! |

I see Liz was installed behind the bar tonight - I'm pretty sure that her absence in the Christmas night episode was briefly explained away by a visit to Andy in Spain; hey presto she's back the very next day.
Did anyone else feel that it was if we had missed an episode at the beginning of tonight? Mary's son showed up on Christmas Day, and Bethany collapsed in the ginnel and was picked up by a shadowy figure. Tonight's first episode began on Boxing Day so we missed the whole introduction of Jude to Mary, and only learned that Bethany was driven to hospital by Tyrone in retrospect. Surely we'd normally expect to be shown these important scenes? Of course, these scenes may have been shown and I missed them in a wine and mince pie stupor; in which case please ignore all the above... |

I'm confused too (nothing new there). Are we to assume he saw Norris/Gemma's appeal on social media (was he in South Africa with pregnant wife or just so happened to be visiting Wetherfield?!), thought "aha, that must be my mum who gave me up 28(?) years ago, I'll go and visit her and asked her to come back to S A with me. I'm sure my wife won't mind me bringing a total stranger home to help look after our new baby"!!

Did I imagine it, but in ep1 tonight when Bethany and Sarah were having a 'heart to heart', Bethany's tears appeared on her cheeks disappeared and then came back again?

I think david did mention it being his birthday last christmas playing in the pub, obviously, only more obvious after George Michael's passing |

I was wondering how she managed to have such wet eyes - I was thinking what an unusually good job she made of crying - we sometimes see the odd tear trickle down but this was pretty full on as crying goes.

Good morning Cobbleweeds and what a beautiful one it is too .
I have only just returned to watching Corrie here in Corsica after i stopped watching some two years or so ago after i moved from France to this beautiful Island in the Med . Back then i thought the Storylines were not in keeping with those of the early year's when annie Walker , Minnie Caldwell , Ena Sharples, Bet Lynch , Elsie Tanner , Albert Tatlock were the main Street Characters . In later year's the likes of Percy Sugden & Reg Holdsworth brought there wit & Comedy to the Street . However today's modern Corrie seem's to be lost in past ITV Series Programmes such as The Bill or General Hospital given the amount of time the storylines feature either the Police on the Street or a hospital ward . Also what is it with all the murder's , attempted murder's and Michelle & Leanne both becoming pregnant by Steve McDonald just naming a few ? Unfortunately the list could go on but i will spare you the yawning but all i would like to say is today's Corrie must have the late Character's mentioned above in my comment all turning in their graves if they knew how the Soap they got the British Public to love has turned out with poor storylines & weak character's . PS : Despite Corrie being very bad & at times unbearable to watch , atleast come New Year there is the new series of Benidorm for looking forward too . Hopefully even Benidorm will be better storylined than the last couple of year's . A salute as the local's say here |

Xmas holiday episodes are usually lightweight and humorous but these last 4 days of episodes have gone OTT on being overly lightweight and lacking the humour. Too many story-lines and new characters lacking background, I'm lost as to who they all are. And what's with all the format experimentation, carol singers, foreground xmas music, drone and home video camera view points - make you think at the end of it all with it be all a dream
or are they testing new formats out for the additional episodes in the future.

What utter twaddle!!!!! Add in the fact that his father is a child abuser/rapist , would he really just digest that information meet his slightly eccentric mother without knowing anything about her and ask her to move across the world? She also knows nothing about him, does his wife exist , is he an axe murderer? |
