Sophie's hypocrisy really boggles. She didn't even bat an eye when her Dad mentioned her supposed Christianity and forgiving people their trespasses. . Why hasn't the new vicar sat her down and given her a private sermon on "let he who is without sin.." or some other such Christian concepts.

Audreh was quite sweet on Luke and ended up trying to play cupid between him and Maria. She still has a soft spot for him.

A question for all you Brits. I always find it a bit of a SOR that women of a certain age in Corrie World - no matter how aged they look - have zero problems attracting males - both younger and in their age group. In North America, from my observations, the majority of older men go for partners that are at least a decade or more younger. I'm thinking especially of Audreh, who, despite her horsey face, seems to have no problem attracting decent men in her age group. Is that commonplace in Britain?
Looks aren't everything. It's shallow to think that they are. Just look at the husbands of some really attractive female celebrities - many of them wouldn't win prizes in the looks department. A pretty boy might be so in love with himself that he's a complete a***e to his partner and a beautiful woman could be a complete bitch. The real person is what's inside, not how old their container is or what it looks like.

Yes indeed you only have to ask the likes of Debbie McGee what attracted her to the millionaire Paul Daniels, it certainly wasn't his looks.

Yes, I'm sure we all remember Mrs Merton asking Debbie McGee "And what first attracted you to the millionaire Paul Daniels?" Debbie McGee isn't looking bad for 57, and I'm sure Paul still loves her.

the fact they are still together says a lot in this day and age,

anyway back to sors.

would Jenny be in any legal way allowed anywhere near jack?

I doubt Jack would wave at her and give her a cute smile either.

would brendan put a pic of the woman he;s having an afair with on his mobile phone

and, of course, the writers couldn't resist including the hilarious "dressed as Heidi" line.

Not sure if I've fallen asleep during a couple of episodes but what is the relevance of Max and his swimming ?

I think he's been twice and already he's having lesson's before school and talking about the Olympics

What has happened to Michelle & Steve's camper van ? On the subject of Michelle, what has happened to her son or fake son ??

Didn't her son go to Spain to do some DJ'ing, with Steve away in Spain you'd think that Michelle would take advantage and go and see him. I'm secretly hoping that she will so she doesn't have as much airtime

In fact the more I think of Corrie at the moment, the more ridiculous it is. The Faye baby storyline has been completely forgotten about. At that time St Anna who we are all now supposed to love, was in dire straits but now seems to be financially sound.

The stupid phone call to whatsherface Chesney's ex telling her about Anna and Kevin - seriously, they'd been out together twice. As if she'd be remotely interested !

Sinead and her bath bomb and soap empire which appears to have been completely forgotten.

Alyiah (sp) well her fullstop at the moment but what about this new range of lingerie she had developed that Sinead was helping with

I think it is safe to say after an eight year absence and no mention at all her "real" son Alex is well and truly retconned out of existence. Multiple producers have taken over since Steve Frost left and clearly nobody is interested in it.

Aha, but can she go and see him? After all we are told she is really busy, what with running Steve's businesses and her own forgotten business single handedly, having to mind the bar all on her own, etc. Poor Michelle, if it wasn't for her the whole place would fall apart. Not that it doesn't stop her disappearing or nearly up Carla's arse when it suits her.

Couldn't it be that they actually love each other?

I've read, though I'm not interested enough to check, that at the time of MM's (admittedly brilliant) question, Paul Daniels wasn't yet a millionaire, but Caroline Ahern was herself married to one.

noticed in the Jenny story she mention that Kevin had also lost a child. How would she know, she was out of the series for eight years before that happened. The script should have had Kevin mention loosing Jake, and Alison, the fact that he'd be 15 now.

Also not mentioned which is very relevant is that Alison did exactly what Jenny did in her grief and abducted a child, in her case Bethany Platt

Having Jenny mention it was stupid. Also silly was her looking pleased at the news that Hope was better when she doesn't know the Dobbs / Stape family from adam

Corrie isn't representative of what goes on in real life. They just partner up whoever they've got going spare!

General chat or what we like to call - boring filler!

What happened to Michelle when Brendan's wife came into the Rovers and started arguing with Mary and then she slapped her? The argument continued and then Brendan arrived.

Michelle was behind the bar but she didn't utter a single word. Wouldn't the barmaid/landlady have interjected and asked the trouble-maker/s to leave? That's poor planning to allow the argument to go on in front of the Rovers crowd and it makes Michelle look like a poor landlady and lazy cow. She's never seen doing anything anyway like pulling a pint, washing up, collecting glasses or wiping the bar down. She's always just standing behind the bar and has an odd line here and there.

Her son/s has been a disaster x 2. Ryan no1. - the baby swap SL. Ryan no2. looked too old. So he's gone and forgotten.

Faye - babies are an easily disposable commodity in Corrie and used to increase tension in SLs, like with the Carla, Peter and Tina SL. The miscarriage added a bit more misery to the SL. Job done.

Faye's pregnancy was just a joke. There was some unwarranted and misplaced nastiness from Anna and bonehead Tim thought it was lovely that his daughter had given him a grandchild. Then it was a case of let's get back to normal and the child is gone and forgotten about.

Anna and Kevin were big news and rightly so because Phelan was due back. An announcement had to be made. The Times, BBC news and News at 10 all had their two dates and bonk as the lead story.

Now that Sinead is going out with Chesney, she is not allowed to be bright, sparky or anything that looks like she's an entrepreneur. Being an entrepreneur is for the likes of Sophie, Carla and Michelle and not women who go are in any way related or involved with the lower orders in Corrie. Sinead had the brains and intelligence to make and sell her product. Sophie, Michelle and Carla have had everything given to them. Sinead could have been wonderful but instead she's stuck with Chesney and stuck in the factory.

I thought Corrie were trying to right a wrong there.

Coronation Street bosses have admitted that they made a script error during a recent episode that saw the character of Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) appear to forget about the death of his son Jake in 2000.
Yesterday's episode of the ITV soap saw Kevin consoling daughter Sophie following the death of her girlfriend Maddie. As the residents of the Street prepared to pay their respects at Maddie's funeral, Kevin remarked that "it must be hard burying one of your kids", completely ignoring the fact that he'd buried his own baby boy 15 years ago.
The storyline - shown during June 2000 - saw Jake develop a Group B streptococcal infection shortly after he was born, which eventually proved fatal. Following Jake's death, Kevin's then wife Alison committed suicide by throwing herself in front of a lorry.
Coronation Street producer Stuart Blackburn has now apologised, admitting that Kevin's memory lapse was an oversight:
"I'd like to thank viewers who spotted our mistake," he told The Sun. "Our episodes go through many drafts and are scrutinised by many people, but on this occasion we did make a mistake."

Feel sorry for Rita, Jenny and Kevin. Attacking a mentally ill woman is shameful and the way that Sophie in particular is going on is disgusting. It was great to see Jenny and Kevin acknowledge the child that Kevin forgot about 7 months ago. Just like how Kevin has forgotten about Jack ever since then pawning him off to imaginary babysitters and acting like he lives at school so that he can go to the pub or on dates with Anna whenever he pleases.

The way that Fiz and Tyrone were talking was actually quite troubling, acting like their health was all that mattered when no doubt in a few weeks time Fiz will be screeching at Tyrone about the money issues and then apologising of course and that will repeat itself for a month before all of their issues are solved overnight.

I still don't get how they got into such debt with Ty having co-owned a business for years that is currently expanding, and Jack and Vera having left him their house (In itself a SOR given that they had three grandchildren who might have appreciated a look in).

These kinds of financial storylines often get swept under the carpet after the initial impact has worn off. Izzy was bragging about a night in with an Indian takeaway the other night. It wasn't that long ago she resorted to stealing charity money from her workmates because she and Gary were in such poverty, a dire situation that appeared out of no where and seemingly dissapeared just as quickly.. Same with Eileen stealing off Owen cos her roof needed fixing and she was desperate. No further mention of her financial hardship or her dodgy roof after a few episodes :P.
It put me off Eileen forever, and seemed out of character.

Yet Fiz still has Ty's outstanding debts to worry about. Awwwwwwwwwh..............

Spoiler
What could be cheaper than the white bread and lard she's probably always fed him? Add their rancid kitchen to the equation and you can see why the whole family eating all their meals at the pub/cafe/bistro might cost them more at the time but it would save the NHS millions in the long run.

I don't understand why Rita was so spooked to receive a friend request from Jenny and then in the next episode she's rescuing her from a bedsit?
Rita made it out to be some sort of absolute hell hole, Jenny should be lucky to be housed at all.

This was an issue I had with Phil Collinson's work at that time, turning characters into thieves and crooks. Same happened with Sophie stealing Kevin's money (and she had the audacity to accuse Jenny of wanting to steal from him last year!)

Now they are poor, Fiz will probably get Roy to save all the accumulated bacon and sausage fat from the cafe for Ty's butties. Mind you, she's probably got a few decades worth and an endless supply of assorted and congealed fats on the bottom of her oven. So she can just scrape some off and slap that on a bit of bread.

Even better, if she's had the oven on, Ty and the family can just dip their bread straight in. Yum yum.

They really are a disgusting pair. The sort of people who might be on Jeremy Kyle's programme. Fiz is a good harpie and she's certainly got the teeth for it! And Ty certainly has the in-bred idiot look.

Wasn't particularly referring to Corrie. Was answering a question posed by Melisende_PF wondering if it was peculiar to Brits for men not to usually go for women at least a decade younger as the do in the USA.

I like that Fiz has natural teeth. It is far more realistic that the dayglo white choppers that Tina dazzled the street with.

a few times people have commented on whether actors have a say in how their character is portrayed. Read in interview that sally was going to be a punk originally until Michael Le veil said that kevin would never date a punk so they ditched that idea

There's a distinct impression that those days have long gone.
