Shona posted David's wallet through the door. The street was bone dry. David jumped up and looked out the front door. Street very wet with big puddles. Flash flooding? i.e. Taking 5 seconds.

Why did Brian, an ex teacher, not realise that it was the school holidays when he asked Curly Simon why he wasn't at school?

Thank you I am very grateful.

Interesting. How do you know this? (Not being funny just interested to know where you find 'location' facts).

Pathetic........

Such a shame Corrie has deteriorated to everything feeling so contrived.”

Wasn't that long ago since Phelan left his phone lying around for Faye to find, not that it did any long lasting damage.

The character's amount of plot armour is just ridiculous.

HenryPorter.
Feel the same as you.
I've watched Corrie all my life and have never felt this cynical about the scriptwriting and storylines. Is it wishful thinking hoping that Corrie returns to its glory days?”

Unlikely, i stopped watching Emmerdale because of the ridiculous direction Kate took it in. Doing the same with corrie

Why is that daft Billy running round like a teenager after Shona? C.S. Is pathetic at the moment.

Not a soaps fan, but have to watch it through the misses having it on. About six to twelve months ago i said eastenders was falling behind corrie and emmerdale. But it has not only past them its leaving them trailing all through the phelin story (corrie) and the woman in emmerdale, four sons?

Even the misses says these story lines are going on too long,is it because they have four or five episodes a week or is it poor writing? although eastenders cant be far off as many episodes a week.

YES!! Exactly - why has everyone else seemingly forgotten this??

It is the very reason I could just never take to Mary. It seemed at the time as though they'd written it that she was a psycho who would keep Norris hostage temporarily then be written out again. But obviously the writers then changed their minds and decided it was all just a misunderstanding so they could keep the character Mary in. She does have the odd funny one liner but she's much too weird for my liking. She'd be an excellent character in a quirky sitcom but not Corrie.

Indeed she was scary mary for several years and no way would anyone let her near their children

She's had a character re write along with Tim Kylie Becky and Gemma

I was going to rant at some length - but you put it so well!

Shame though that they have rushed this s/l when it could have been a really interesting slow burner.

Why is she kipping at Eileen's for?

Seriously wish that moocher Billy would **** off....pointless, dreary excuse of a character. I can handle background characters, can even put up with glorified cast members, but there's something about Billy that makes me want to throw the remote at the telly every time his face pops up.

As for Shona, how many times are we going to have a wayward brat turn up, only to be tamed by the Weatherfield way of life? Boring, repetitive shite!! I hope she isn't David's next love interest.

I hate to be the one to tell you. I read a report in the Wall Street Journal that a factory in Nanking Province is working 24 hrs a day trying to keep up with the demand for remote control units. Billy gets a lot of them thrown at him, he merely catches them in his teeth and chews them up. That tells me Shona will be David's new squeeze. The shite will increase and with a bit of luck won't rise above our chins. Everyone will be Kipping at Eileens. There will be nights when you won't know if you're punched or bored. Decreased glorified cast members are being hinted at as well as background characters. It gets even worse. Let someone responsible hold the remote is my advice to you. I hope this eases your pain, that's what this forum is all about. Helping each other in times of trouble. I'm glad I was able to play a small part in giving you some news.

The business with Shona stealing the purse was similar to the introduction of Sophie's new lady friend a few years ago, the one who died.

I'm finding it all very disjointed at the moment.

Someone trying too hard maybe?

where the hell is Eileen?'

she just randomly disappears so silly billy big teeth can drag shona in to her house in a subtle as an exploding supernova plot to get david to see her

see they went that extra mile to find a location shoot for the prison entrance

the studio entrance

the most convincing bit of the episode was Max eating toast

If this is what I have to look forward to I think I'll tell Marge to change the channel.

Personally I have never forgotten this and for this reason, Mary's character, and relationship with Norris, has never since rung true. Unless it was an advanced case of Stockholm Syndrome, Norris would have never gone near her again. However, being CS, characters are simply re-imagined to fit as the whim takes the writers (who the heck are these people? They are ruining the show and pushing long term viewers to the edge. We now watch it more out of habit than enjoyment)

Toyah and Eva in the bar: Toyah tells Eva why she doesn't like Maria, as the latter had, in the past, stolen her partner and had a child by him. (who was it? I can't remember) But Eva's response was "Did she keep it?"

If it was Liam, then yes. If it wasn't, then no. I know Eva isn't supposed to be bright but.....

lol yes I wondered why she'd asked because presumably she would know that Liam is the son of Liam, the clue being in the name, and Maria doesn't appear to have any other children around

It's getting on my wick. Is there any point to this SL?

Everyone was told about it in the Rovers. End of. Although you'd think there would be more of a fall out as Phelan must have noticed that no flats were being built/converted! And wouldn't the police investigate?

I thought so too. Shame Sophie isn't around to save her! But then the clever businesswoman is languishing in the US because she didn't take out insurance. Why is Kevin soley responsible? Has he even told Sally?

Usual Corrie stuff. They returned to Weatherfield. SL was over. It was never mentioned again.

The stuff with Eva and Toyah has the potential to be good. Wait until Eva finds out about Maria. Although Corrie will no doubt balls it up.

And that Aidan needs a kick up the bum.

Mary could have gone to SA, she wasn't even in it tonight!

That Adam's a nasty smug creep. Way too up himself. Are we supposed to like him? 'Coz I sure don't.

Smug is the word. He is just so irritating!

Also, he's supposed to be a (successful?) lawyer. Has he got a job? He's been lounging around The Street now, unemployed so it seems, in a country he didn't previously live in, for how many weeks?

Is this going to be a character that even though she cant keep her hands to herself is suddenly going to have a heart of gold in a matter of weeks and maybe marry Billy the confused vicar
