@ Tippy Toes - my tiny mind is often boggled on this thread by the backstories and all the partner, name and house swapping. Reminds me of that 70's TV show strapline 'Confused? You won't be, after this week's episode of...Soap'.

And no mention of her at all, the fact that she didn't go. Where did she stay? Wouldn't it be the talk of the street that she'd stayed put?

Indeed, it's bizarre. For a street full of gossips they don't discuss their neighbours goings-on as much as you'd expect. Nobody mentions Mary, Maria's completely forgotten every time she goes in the nick, no-one's bothered about Phelan's flats scam or David's suicide mission that went wrong. And so it goes on....

Some really slow eaters in Corrie!”

I love this!
Three hours to have breakfast must be some kind of record.

It's on the DigitalSpy website now.

Ty worked day and night collecting scrap steel, aluminum etc. His only sustenance was oven grease served up by his adorable and doting Fiz. Peter is not made of the same mettle as Ty, nor has he the love of a good woman like Fiz to give him the incentive. Peter would rather sit in the pub all day in case he missed a stray woman coming in to ask for directions. He's got it made in the shade if that license never materialized.

IIRC he wasn't acting here, and Anne was either slightly hurt or very shaken by the scene.

So, no good scenes for Ken. Ever.

The Mary "I'm leaving with my son" plot was a bit lame. She left and came back all in the space of five mins. They could have milked the plot for a few more episodes!

Kevin doesn't have much luck with breakdown trucks does he. I recall him having a huge new shiny yellow one a few years back that someone stole or torched ??

Sorry if it's been said but would Maria really get a custodial for what she did? I know it's not like for like but when you see people con the system for tens of thousands in welfare then get a suspended. Also would have thought a clean record and a young child might have given her some leverage.

Why should having a young child or any age child be a reason not to jail someone?

Would you offer that consideration to a male?

She should have considered how her crime would possibly affect her child before doing it. Either she was too thick to consider the consequences or she didn't give a damn about her child.

If he was the child's only parent, as Maria is, then yes, it would be taken into account.

Fair enough about the child but for the first part there are some make a career out of sham marriages and again the ones that con the system for tens of thousands and walk away with a suspended. Granted HMG try and recoup the money but the guilty party never seems to do hard time.

Facilitating an illegal immigration is a serious offence and deserves a custodial sentence.

Fair enough, thanks. I'm far from excusing it btw, it actually pi55es me off what they get off with these days.

It's great how the public are now standing up and taking notice of Corrie's lazy continuity.

I think it's very unlikely that Maria would have got a custodial sentence, and certainly not of a year. Most probably she would have received a suspended sentence.

It's become so blatant now, as if they don't care at all about putting events in a proper sequence, or really keeping any kind of consistency, I thought last night's Corries were poor, jumping around all over the place, but not returning to stories such as Mary's SL which needed some development and rounding off. Billy was chasing Shona - why? - with a manic grin on his face, in training for a Jack Nicholson role perhaps. Eileen was conveniently and unrealistically absent, since there's no chance Shona would have been allowed in her house if she'd been there. Why does Grinning Billy think he can do what he wants and bring a light-fingered homeless woman into Eileen's house?

Phelan now seems to have supernatural powers of evil. Roy burst into a very unRoy-like rage. Jenny became stupidly gloating and unpleasant. Aidan reprised Peter Barlow's SL when he was in love with two women, but let's hope Aidan doesn't try to to marry them both.

I think I'm watching only because I watched the first episode, and Corrie's been a small part of my viewing life ever since.

Me too ! For most of the time I just watch and accept the programme for what it is and not consider what is not logical.

Johnny shelling out £105 quid int' Rovers!
He didn't even have to enter his 4 digit chip and PIN number,
Perhaps Liz has committed it to memory and enters it for him?

Anne Windass trips at the top of the stairs then seems to fly through the air 'Mrs Browns Boys' style, when she trips behind the sofa!

We fell about laughing when he got his pint. Presumably the barman's previous job was mind reading.

Why has no one commented on how the interior of the Rovers suddenly increased in size during the 2nd episode last night?

The distance from bar to booth used to be about 2 feet.......last night it suddenly stretched to about 6 feet!

Corrie is almost at the unwatchable stage now, and I have been watching Corrie for almost 30 years now. It was not always perfect and we had some some ridiculous storylines/characters.

Now I just seem to watch it to see all the ludicrous stories and the shockingly poor continuity. It is testament to how bad it is when this is one of the busiest threads on DS, and one of the best and funniest

As long as the viewing figures remain healthy and overall they are ITV/Corrie bosses will do nothing to improve the programme.

It is probably my fault, not entirely my fault, but as long as us long term viewers continue to switch this on, viewing figures will stay steady. So come on folks for the sake of the programme, switch it off and let viewing figures drop
