No, so it just makes the scene even more contrived, I'm surprise they don't have him going in the Rovers and ordering a "large Scottish wine" as that is what Mike used to call whisky.

I would go with coripedia to be honest as it is totally corrie based IMDB is worldwide so dont often get their facts right. even seen a DOB for an actor ten years out so his role as a teen in a 1984 film when his dob is 1974 is a tad confusing (should have said 1969)

Billy rifling Eileen's cupboards to feed Shona. He's just too weird.
Why isn't Andy writing his horror movie scripts anymore? Why can't Peter get a job to earn money for a holiday with Simon? He stays in Ken's rent free. He could do the taxiing, the Rovers or deliver flowers for Tracy. What an idle sod he is. Even Toyah is looking for work, Peter has no excuse. Andy and his writing - what was the point in that? Toyah is only looking for work at the Rovers so that

Corrie will do it as some daft convoluted way to get a Baldwin back in the factory as a daft nod to the factory's history in Corrie.

Yes but it didn't stop them doing the contrived nonsense of Adam the cigar and the going into the factory finding the bottle of whisky when he rocked up on the street a few weeks or so ago did it, so if any one needs to move on it's the Corrie bosses.

What does Eileen think about all this Billy and Shona stuff?!
It seems he has been too busy being involved in everything else to have met another fellow dodgy character like her. |

Definitely living up to ITV's own description that it's "the story of the everyday lives of ordinary folk living in a northern town called Weatherfield." |

This 'Shona' is another in a long line of wayward, gobby brats who will, eventually, be accepted despite her previous misdemeanours. Jenny, Leanne, Toyah, Fiz, Becky, Tina, Kylie, Maddeh, Gemma have all seen the light and breathed in the Weatherfield air, now it's Shona's turn. As for Billy, I wish he'd do one. Corrie have a lot of pointless characters, but he takes the biscuit. Hardly ever seen doing his 'vicar' job, he besmirched a dead man's name and revelled in sin. And if that wasn't enough he's now treating nut-job Shona as his social experiment. |

Corrie is almost at the unwatchable stage now, and I have been watching Corrie for almost 30 years now. It was not always perfect and we had some some ridiculous storylines/characters.
Now I just seem to watch it to see all the ludicrous stories and the shockingly poor continuity. It is testament to how bad it is when this is one of the busiest threads on DS, and one of the best and funniest As long as the viewing figures remain healthy and overall they are ITV/Corrie bosses will do nothing to improve the programme. It is probably my fault, not entirely my fault, but as long as us long term viewers continue to switch this on, viewing figures will stay steady. So come on folks for the sake of the programme, switch it off and let viewing figures drop I'm aware that all TV shows have suffered a loss of viewers due to streaming services and people recording or watching on catch up but I do find it interesting that Corrie's viewing figures have declined sharply over the past 10 years as (imo) this is when the quality started to decline. As an example Ken and Deirdre's 2nd wedding in 2005 attracted 17 million viewers. I know this was a special episode but I also looked at ratings for normal episodes in 2008/2009 and they generally attracted an average of 10 million viewers. That's 3 million viewers lost. I can accept some is due to catch up TV etc, but I suspect an equal number is due to the dip in quality since that time. Interestingly, this very thread was also set up in 2009. I think this was when the show really started to go down the toilet. I've waited patiently for it to improve over the past 7/8 years but I'm losing faith that it ever will. It's going to take a pretty big change high up at ITV to make it happen. Unfortunately the only thing they care about is milking the show for all its worth. Adding a 6th episode a week is only going to make things 10 times worse ![]() Sorry for the long depressing rant! On the bright side it means lots more material for us to take the piss out of on this thread! |

Shona posted David's wallet through the door. The street was bone dry. David jumped up and looked out the front door. Street very wet with big puddles. Flash flooding? i.e. Taking 5 seconds.
Why did Brian, an ex teacher, not realise that it was the school holidays when he asked Curly Simon why he wasn't at school? |

Why is she kipping at Eileen's for?
Seriously wish that moocher Billy would **** off....pointless, dreary excuse of a character. I can handle background characters, can even put up with glorified cast members, but there's something about Billy that makes me want to throw the remote at the telly every time his face pops up. As for Shona, how many times are we going to have a wayward brat turn up, only to be tamed by the Weatherfield way of life? Boring, repetitive shite!! I hope she isn't David's next love interest.

Toyah and Eva in the bar: Toyah tells Eva why she doesn't like Maria, as the latter had, in the past, stolen her partner and had a child by him. (who was it? I can't remember) But Eva's response was "Did she keep it?"
![]() If it was Liam, then yes. If it wasn't, then no. I know Eva isn't supposed to be bright but..... Most people's hair does grow!

When Peter and Toyah were in his flat and Toyah supposedly got wet paint in her hair it looked like someone had started to strip the walls but they hadn't been painted over yet as there were different patches of colour. If that wall had been painted then whoever did it did a pretty shit job!

Yes Shona will be living and working on the street a reformed, soon to be in David's arms Kylie Mk2 probably by the end of the month. I do hope someone says to David that he's only seeing her because she's another Kylie. Might make such a storyline a little bit more believable.
As to Shona marrying Billy the confused vicar. He might be unsure of his Christianity from one week to the next but he most certainly isn't confused about where he wants to put his ding-a-ling. That is the whole point of his being on the programme.

I'd like to know why Jenny has been singled out by Johnny as nasty. Lots of Corrie folk are nasty. Johnny himself is nasty.
He cheated on his wife when he sh@gged Carla's mother which resulted in his wife's death and he didn't bother to tell his children until recently. Nasty. His daughter Kate treated Caz like sh!te when they split and then she changed her allegiances and was concerned for Caz and treated Maria like sh!te. Nasty. Aidan is cheating on Eva with Maria and he goes round punching people. Nasty. Then there's his newly found daughter, Carla. No explanation needed. Nasty. Then there's his distant relation Michelle. See above. Nasty. Maria is a relation by marriage. She's carrying on with Aidan. Nasty. Eva didn't even bother to establish the facts or ask if she could leave her job before dashing into her flat and ranting and raving and smashing stuff. And she's had a bitch at Jenny. Yet Johnny thinks she's a saint. Nasty. And there's plenty more nasty folk in Corrie. |

This really winds me up! Why are none of the women ever allowed to look rough? They wake up fully caked in make up with perfect her. And then there's the outfits. Most of them dress as if they're going on a hot date or to a wedding; not to work in a knicker factory or backstreet pub.
Once upon a time you had the likes of Bet Lynch slobbering on the couch, disheveled, drinking a cuppa with a face pack on. Now the modern Corrie woman looks super glamorous, layered in make up, hair so sleek you'd think they used a pork chop to comb it! They are superficial and high maintenance, sadly it's a sign of the times with the 'fashion' industry. I dread to think how long the likes of Eva spend in the dressing room. If only Corrie put more focus into rehearsals........no wonder Julie Goodyear was aghast when she returned! |
