That's funny. I put an English term in and it came up all stars. Had to revamp it. There must be a blocker on here somewhere.

And what about the sales cabin and all of its relevant contents?

Too many loose ends,,,, I say too many loose ends.........
I looked round thinking Fred was behind me then! Creepy!

I can't understand how they've all accepted losing £15k deposits with no mention of it. In reality people would be getting together, seeing solicitors/police/CAB and certainly discussing it in the pub.
Can nobody even track Vinny on social media? Facebook and the like seems to make the world a smaller place. So even one of the youngsters like Simon (if he's in a good mood) or young Faye can search for Vincent "Vinny" Ashford from, mmmm York for example to see if he has an open account, has he got brothers, sisters or parents. Send them a message like he did a right good job of our conservatory and would like to recommend him.

Go visit his mother to see if she has heard from him and let him know his old mucker Hatchet O'Toole from Weatherfield will be back to "put her windows in" for free if he doesn't get in touch. You get the idea.

But that's just too sensible! It would have made a good s/l actually, social media is being used all the time to find people. I do wish the writers would spend more time on feasible s/ls instead of starting good s/ls then letting them just fizzle out.

Just get Gemma on to it. She found Jude in no time and he was (presumably) in South Africa!

If anyone was to pull of a scam like that, the last thing they would be doing is using social media and using their real name.

He got a fake passport and name, this guy isn't going to be found. Sadly, things like this happen in real life and simply put people just have to accept they have been conned out of a big sum of money.

I really don't understand the criticism here of Corrie, what else are the residents supposed to do exactly!!!

This thread really is clutching at straws in a desperate attempt to ridicule the show. I notice Corrie is the only soap to have this thread, may I ask where the equivalent ED and EE versions are? Or is that simply because there are more anti Corrie people on this forum than the other soaps put together!

Mary found her son in minutes, and he wasn't even wearing a loud shirt.

I think most of the people who post on this thread are Coronation street fanatics who love the show despite all the blunders , rather than being "anti".

With fans like that who needs enemies! EE and ED fans would never ridicule the show like this. In fact, its quite the opposite on here. As soon as any negative thread starts the usual suspects show up in droves to defend the show and bully the negative posters off here. Really think its time the mods locked this thread, 566 pages of drivel and not in any way constructive.

...and yet you continue to read and post in the thread.

The reason why EE and ED don't have similar threads is because they have decent storylines, with no gaping great holes in them, for us viewers to notice!

As is the usual response to your post...if you don't like the thread, don't post in it

These 566 pages only represent the 10th installment. There were another nine threads before this one!

I think you're being a little unfair and I agree with honeythewitch - most of the contributers enjoy the show but Corrie has always been far more blasé about realism and loose ends than EastEnders (can't speak for the others). EE can be a bit OTT but there has always been more attention to small details which Corrie has tended to not worry about so much, certainly in more recent years.

To some extent Corrie (as all soaps do) leaves themselves open to comments on SORs simply by the way that they overfill houses with numerous people, have everyone living and working in a quarter mile radius, getting/loosing jobs at the drop of a hat, walking in and out of workplaces as they see fit and moving all their worldly goods from one house to another in a couple of small holdalls.

It's all light-hearted, it's fun. Usually.

You just added more drivel to a page. Now I have to wade through your drivel to get to the rest of it. Thanks a bunch. There has to be more substance to your drivel and I'm not getting it. There just has to be.

The residents would have done a lot more than just attend a meeting in the Rovers and that's it! There would have been a lot more talk and there is the site to wind up. There were assets there - like the £30,000 worth of tiles that Eileen bought. But have we seen any of this? No. Vinnie leaves. Phelan tells everyone. End of.

Here are a few links to threads that you may find interesting and show that you are wrong.

BIB What does this mean? You're moaning about this being a negative thread. You talk about other negative threads. You say posters turn up on here to bully others off! So, according to your logic posters from this thread come on this thread to bully others on other threads!?

This is a long running, successful thread. The mods do not need to close it just because you don't like it.

I only watch Corrie so cannot comment on other soaps.

I think it speaks volumes about how much Corrie has slipped with its standards in last 10 years or so, the fact that it is the only soap with an SOR thread It is also one of the busiest threads on DS

I think you will find most posters on this forum actually are passionate about Corrie and have been watching for many many years. We all crave a return to a character led storyline not some simple nonsense, intended for the brain dead dead. Write a story grab a few headlines then move on to the next sensational story without any thought to the implications of said storyline

We know its a soap and its not real life and there has to be some artistic licence. But some of the stories and continuity are farcical

Perfectly put.

I have been watching Corrie since the very early days and despair at the depths its writing, production and acting have reached.

So, why not stop watching?

Coincidentally, I was chatting with my wife (another fan) just yesterday after we'd watched another load of dross and came to the conclusion that we live in the eternal (and probably fruitless) hope that it will improve.

In the meantime, Corrie has actually become so ridiculously bad that its actually quite funny to watch.

At the end of the day it's only an internet forum, nobody goes to the gallows and the producers and writers get their salary. If you have any business you will not only get praise you have to expect criticism and you have to take the criticism on board. How about a football team, do fans complain? Yes of course they do as you have a right to especially if you spend money but I know a lot that moan and never set foot in the ground of their team.

I've watched Corrie since the 1970's and will go on watching it but these days we have the luxury of this forum thing to have some banter mostly. I put it down to old age but I see gaffs or plot holes in movies and TV programmes and question it. I think we were doing it back in my working days 30 years ago. Praise where it's due but along with the praise will come criticism.

She also doesn't own the house and can't have any money because she only cleans part time in the Bistro - if she even does that now. So nothing to con her out of and therefore not of interest to him.
Lewis got there first, but then again, with Corrie's recent offerings they may re write that back story.
Just get Gemma on to it. She found Jude in no time and he was (presumably) in South Africa!
I do hope the ptb at Corrie read that.

This. We love Corrie and want it to be as good as it used to be, also, I am convinced that there is a 'spy' in our midst who reports back.

I would like to apologize for my response to your post today. I think that thread earlier this morning about good looking men in soaps always getting ugly girls was the cause of my acrimonious reply. There was no call for it.

Eileen is skint now as he and his fellow conman conned Jasons money out of her (aside her buying those tiles with some of it)
He just needs somewhere to stay, BUT desperate enough to marry Eileen,,Ye gawds n lil idols

xx
Not just somewhere to stay. If he marries Eileen, he'll guarantee permanently running the builders' yard giving him plenty of opportunity to rip off customers and swindle Jason out of money, while claiming not to be responsible because the yard isn't his.

i like to think its because Corrie fans have a sense of humour and take the mick out of our favorite show, tongue in cheek

The pork chop got me good. 😂 😂 😂
Can't take the credit. When Deirdre pondered how Michelle's hair was so slick and shiny, Lovely Liz retorted: "Dunno, probably combs it with a pork chop."

Frankly I was surprised how little press intrusion there was after Callum's body was discovered under a resident's house. Who'd want to live near the Platts?

Really?
Even Marta stole Sean's lovely coat. Don't worry, Shona will see the light.

Just like Leanne, Toyah and Fiz did as wayward teens.

Not to mention Karen.

And Becky and Kylie, and Gemma.

omg, Billy needs to be axed ASAP.
He is the most pointless character on the street and has regressed massively since he first appeared on our screens.

Billy has become a dreadful character.

'The Vicar Of Weathie' could have been great but he has been allowed to descend into a pathetic, needy do-gooder. If he is an example of today's clergy then no wonder our churches are emptying.

Of course to develop his character properly we would have had to be taken out of The Street and into his parish more (wherever that is, it always looks in the countryside somewhere) We got a couple of scenes in the vicarage and in the church (remember his breakdown at the christening )

He is no longer credible..........get rid .........please.
