A week after that, she will have pulled herself together and be back to her old self, social services will rock up and say "well done, heres jake", she will have her job back and its never mentioned again?”

That's the kind of accelerated storyline we're used to these days!

Anna will be the one to catch her with a spliff in her mouth. She will stand on the roof of the cafe with a megaphone announcing the situation to the whole street, who coincidentally are all gathered outside the Platts wondering about the stench coming from Gails overused manhole.
A week later with her life in tatters from this evil drug Gary comes across Izzy sat outside the Kabin asking for 10p for a cup of tea and slaps her out of her chair in a fit of rage. While sat on the floor in tears Izzys social worker turns the corner and asks whats wrong. Izzy says that slap was all she needed to see the error of her ways and she is fine now. Gary confirms that she is obviously telling the truth, the social worker smiles and tells her thats she is going to get Jake for her immediately. In the second episode of the night Izzy proudly rolls down the street with Jake on her lap while every resident is applauding. And a statue of Izzy is erected outside the factory, much to Norris' dismay.

The episode ends with a clue as to the next car crash of a storyline involving Carla.

i know nothing about weed for pain relief, can you smoke skunk or would you have to get a particular strain?

Hope next week she has a Rasta hat and says Wagwan

I'm concerned that Norris never did get his side salad (to go with his hot pot and carrots )

More SORs I've thought of since watching last nights Corrie:

Why would Environmental Health respond to investigate someone simply having an allergic reaction while out for a meal? Even if the source of the allergy was from the food, it's hardly the Bistro's fault, these things happen and it's not the cause of anything hygiene related in the kitchen.

Also, I don't know much about the injuries you'd be likely to get from playing football, but the lad having a double break and requiring surgery sounds a bit much from an accidental 'whoops, your leg got in the way of the ball' accident. How hard was Simon trying to kick the ball? Especially considering this took place in a small gym and not on a big field where he'd have to kick the ball harder to send it further... but then again, this is the same show that had Carla having an emergency spleen removal, a broken arm and injured ribs just from her falling from a car going at 20mph.

It's the Rovers idea of a healthy eating menu the exact same food as the normal menu but you get a side salad with it.

This may have been mentioned before, but the way Erica just left the shop when she saw Izzie struggling with the rolls of fabric was a bit of a SOR. I thought Izzie lived on the cobbles but it seems she lives some way off - so Erica was away from the shop for quite a while. And would Izzie really regularly take big rolls of material home on her chair like that? I'm sure someone with a car would drop it round for her.

The worst scene for me last night (and there were many candidates ) ...............

Audrey, David, Gail and Kylie all in the Bistro discussing Beth's rash and who comes through the door, Beth and Kirky. Beth must have good hearing because she knew they were discussing her when she was hardly through the door.

This happens so often nowadays it's tiresome. The director doesn't even have the actors get into a room before they are laying into someone because of some feud or other.

..........and the usual question, who was minding Lily and Max.

So Simon didn't kick that boy on purpose now. For goodness sake, we could see how angry Simon was with the boy just before it happened.

Now we will have Leanne grovelling around him for weeks and he will feel 'allpowerful' again and kick her. It goes on and on.

And didn't he tell Zeedan that he did it on purpose whilst he protested his innocence to everyone else? So now he was lying to Zeedan about having done it deliberately?

so Simon is staying in the Barlow/s?

so is he bunking up with his grandad, his aunt or his cousin Amy

think social services may have something to say about that

Not to mention who was looking after the salon, since the entire staff were in the pub (or bistro as some call it) while it was still daylight. And who should come in but Beth and Kirk ... who should have been at work.

Speaking of candidates, did the poster we caught a glimpse of refer to Sally as a candidate? She can't be, since no election has been announced, either the main Council one or (almost impossible) a by-election. I don't think she can even be a 'prospective candidate' at the moment.

Also, why are TV dramas so keen to flog the idea that, if the police invite you to voluntarily go to the station, you're forced to go? You don't have to, unless they arrest you.

Though the way they dragged Simon into the car, they'd either arrested him or they were assaulting him.

Re Izzy and the drugs - are we going to get a storyline involving Martha the hiding Polish girl I wonder, or was this simply a way of telegraphing Izzy's pain/need for drugs into the plot?

As much as I like Leanne, I fear we will have many scenes of her staring into space, with an angst look on her face, sighing a lot, telling everyone that she made a huge mistake going to the police.

that's what I was thinking.

I can imagine the storyline meeting.

"hmmm. we need a 'cannabis as pain relief' story line. how can we make izzy be in more pain?"

*lots of head scratching, umming and ahhing, and blank looks*

".....I'VE GOT IT!!! LET'S HAVE A POLISH SLAVE TIP HER OUT OF HER WHEELCHAIR!!"

why did audrey march David and Kylie round to the bistro like a pair of naughty children

and who was minding the salon whilst she did. Max and Lilly maybe

and Mary dissing Michael in the same vane as Brendon was uncalled for when it was Gail who ruined the relationship, not him

I still don't get why Izzy was not taken to hospital or an ambulance called when she was pushed and fell out of her wheelchair in the factory they all seemed more concerned about Sean's coat?

Has Tracy forgotten what happened the last time Simon stayed at the Barlows? He attacked or threatened to attack Amy and Tracy insisted that he leave. None of this was mentioned when Ken told Tracy that Simon was staying. I was waiting for her to say "He's not staying here after what happened last time" instead she seemed proud that he had been carted off by the police as it now made him a proper Barlow.

she best start working on Amy's first asbo then

Simon attacked Amy off camera (wonder why it's all off camera when directed at another child) so yes Tracey would not be happy at Simon being there, and Amy probably wouldn't like it either

I said this when the story was first mentioned. She has never once complained of pain yet now she says she is constanty racked with pain

What 13 year old lad cuddles up with his step mum like he was with Leanne?

You must have missed a couple of scenes as Tracy did mention it, to ken she even referred to simon as rocky

Izzie has the same medical condition as the actress that plays her and it does involve a lot of pain. I've heard the actress on the radio say she tries not to let others know when she's in pain so maybe Izzie does the same. Though if the writers did get this right it was probably unintentional
