I wonder if he will use the tradesman's entrance?

That sounds a bit like the Hale & Pace sketch when Johnnie and Billy were builders - one had a saw and the other other a multi use screwdriver: "Screw it in...screw it in....tighten up your nuts, back and forth...back and forth....

I don't like to think of Phelan in that way, except perhaps with Mary - that would be Carry On humour at it's very best!

Maybe Gail could get Phelan round to sort out her underfloor problem?

What a cheek of Leanne to ask Ken to drive Simon all the way to Portsmouth, with no warning, just pack a bag and go, all because the brat decides he wants to visit his dad. Would imagine it's quite a long drive from the north to Portsmouth.
Ken really doesn't get much peace in his old age, what with Tracy, Amy and Robert all sharing his poky house, as business owners why don't they look for somewhere of their own? Then he has to put up with sulky Simon as well, and having to share his bedroom with him, as where else could he sleep? How on earth are Audrey and him going to get together with all that lot there?

I did find it ridiculous how Ken just suddenly packed and left for Portsmouth when it was clearly evening time. Surely he'd go the next day as it's a long drive and he'd probably be tired driving all through the night.

Should have just stuck the little brat on a train if he wants to go that bad he can find his own way there.

I don't think the s/l is done yet, there's still some meat left on those bones. The horrific rash of bad acting however seems to be permanent.

Thanks, but I've no recollection of it at all.

It is approximately 1.75 - 2 hours drive from London (depending on M25). It is probably another 2 hours from Manchester. Rather him than me !

Last night's episodes really were shockingly bad. Totally unbelievable, and annoying too. Why do they keep repeating the cliché of a character arranging a surprise for another, who then becomes suspicious because of the secrecy, and big trouble ensues. We had it with Maria and the car for Luke, and Eva and the house for Jason, and I'm sure there are plenty more whose memory I've mercifully erased.

Why is Leanne desperately apologising to her abuser just because he didn't do the last thing he was accused of? Why was Carla in a miserable craven heap because Tracy had her pills? Were they magic pills?

Awful.

The roads are quieter at night. I always prefer to do a very long drive during the night than during the day.

And Lucy was a natural blonde! So Simon must be a throwback to earlier generations.

Neither have I.

But despite there being no cars parked anywhere on the street, ALL Corrie residents have one when the SL requires it. ◔_◔ ⥀_⥀

Around 250 miles, so 4.5 to 5 hours if Ken is lucky!

Most awful and unbelievable was the so-called 'wedding fayre'. With Tracy having a small unimpressive stall and exactly what was Michelle doing? All I saw was her chatting to a harpist who wasn't allowed any lines because it would cost Corrie more money. The rest of the time Michelle was stamping around trying to look all business-like whilst carrying big pink folder.

Big pink folder. Very impressive. Sophie Webster will be after a big coloured folder now. ⥀_⥀

The pills. Another crutch for Carla to lean on. Carla is a permanent mess. How the hell we are meant to believe in her as a successful business person? ⥀_⥀

I am sick of the sight of them already!

But we havent seen his grandmother. She might have been dark skinned.

I might have missed a bit but I didnt understand about Eileen's kitchen.
To me, it looked like Phelan had a load of kitchen doors, and Eileen's kitchen needed fixing.
Now, if he was only tightening up the existing doors, he didnt need the ones in the van.
If she needed the doors replacing, how did he know what size cupboards she had, and how many?
And how did he know that the doors he had were the same size?
And if she needed a complete new kitchen, he would have to build new cupboards for the doors, which would take ages, and even if the doors came with cupboards it would take far longer than an afternoon to fit it.

That part was outrageous. Simon kicked Leanne in the leg last year leaving an injury and then knocked her unconscious in another incident. And then he bragged to Zeedan he had deliberately injured the other lad. The only one apologising should be the little git.

As has been alluded to already, surely it's still an undertaking for a man in his eighties ?

Totally unrealistic

I meant her heating problem, but no doubt Phelan could give her manhole a good seeing to once he has removed maggoty Callum.

It annoys me the way Ken disciplines Simon when he's saying horrid things to Leanne. He just says "Simon" in a weak and ineffectual voice and rolls his eyes. Much the same way as he disciplined Tracy and look what's happened there.
