In real life, his mum is as blonde and fair skinned as Lucy was and his dad, whilst not appearing entirely white, has dark features and dark hair. He looks Mediterranean or Middle Eastern. I've seen them walking around in Alex's home town of Blackburn.

Am I the only one who found it odd that Eileen was cross her sons didn't send her valentines cards

who sends their parents valentines cards, or expects them from their children??

i'd be a bit uncomfortable if I got one from my daughter or my mother expected one from me

I have to agree that Corrie storylines ARE getting as dumb as eff just lately. It's true that Simon doesn't look ANYthing like either of his parents and is horribly miscast. So Peter has dark hair and brown eyes, so what? He still wouldn't have a child that looks like Simon with a blonde fair skinned woman like Lucy.

Tracey suddenly becoming a florist is stupid. The Callum storyline has dried up, and yes, where IS Sarah?

And who the fluck decided that Sinead is going to be a model?! She is not a bad looking girl but she would NEVER be a model. There is nothing about her that suggests it. She is OK, but does not have 'model' looks.

I kind of think that is the point she is not supposed to look like a model she is supposed to represent the 'ordinary' everyday kind of woman.

I made one for my mom when I was 7 years old. Never gave her one since then. Grown up kids just don't do that do they?

Tracy has always been a florist, the writers are being consistent - surprisingly

Yes, the original Tracey was indeed a florist.

A bit like Lucy and Peter then.

Tracy made no comment about this though when Robert suggested the idea to her

Presumably Robert knew because they were married when she was a florist.

Ken's father was very dark so maybe the family has Mediterranean or Middle Eastern background?

I don't think it is a question of not accepting Simon's/Alex Bain's heritage. I find it very strange that a white couple with no African/Afro Caribbean ancestry could have a child like Simon. As it happens there is nothing wrong with the actor. He does evil well. IMO he is miscast and I think that might flummox some people too.

Maybe they did it for years when Eileen was a single parent. In some cultures Valentine day is not just about love between a couple. I used to send a Valentine card to my mum right until her death. It was say how much I loved her and appreciated her as a mother.

They do if they have a "special" relationship with them like Jason and Todd (especially Jason).

Gail is still hoping to become Nick's Valentine.

Just wish Leanne would lay down the law on that brat. Wash her hands off him, so be it!!

The rest of the time Michelle was stamping around trying to look all business-like whilst carrying big pink folder.

Big pink folder. Very impressive. Sophie Webster will be after a big coloured folder now. ⥀_⥀

The pills. Another crutch for Carla to lean on. Carla is a permanent mess. How the hell we are meant to believe in her as a successful business person? ⥀_⥀”

I've got a similar folder, but in black!

What?! Everything is Leanne's fault. Simon is an innocent. The video proved that and his other misdemeanours seem to have been forgotten. Hence a couple of episodes with every Leanne saying in every scene: 'What have I done?' 'What have I done?' 'What have I done?' ◔_◔

You big copycat! Trying to emulate Michelle, eh? I always knew you secretly admired the business powerhouse that is Michelle Connor. She's earned squillions for the McDonald empire and is running all Steve's businesses. Yet, we never see her in the cab office, in the Rovers she does FA except stand behind the bar and the wedding business isn't doing that well if all she has at a wedding fayre is a big pink folder! And I bet your folder isn't as big as hers!

Do you really think Corrie give a damn about the colouring of Ken's father or his great Aunt Fanny five times removed?!

He was clearly a good little actor at his audition, so he got the job regardless of his heritage and the fact that we saw a blonde haired child go off to Australia with Lucy. Corrie don't care about such things. Well done to him. It might be time to recast though. And good luck for the future to Alex Bain if Corrie ever do decide to recast.

A question about Peter. Is he meant to be living in Portsmouth? Didn't Simon go and visit him in some far flung shores not long ago? It's me age!

Yes he did and didn't have a great time and I remember Peter having a new girl was also mentioned. Maybe Simon will come back played by an actor without curly hair maybe not blond but dark brown and paler skin.
