Particularly as her opening line was something like 'Ive done something really dreadful.' If my husband said that to me I'd be all ears, expecting the worst, not start droning on about some other old nonsense.
They hardly ever ask about what they were going to say, either. If that was me I would be growling TELL ME until he gave in.
Well I couldn't care less whether or not a child looks like its soap parents as long as they can act - which few in Corrie are being allowed to do at the moment.
Steve and Andy McDonald didn't look like brothers, let alone twins, even non-identical.
Andy's general colouring is correct, and Steve looks very much like Liz.

Rosie and Sophie couldn't look less related.
I have to disagree. They played a blinder on this one. Rosie is just like Sally and Sophie is very like Kevin.

And Ruby certainly doesn't look like the offspring of Tyrone and Kirsty.
Why not? She is certainly as pretty as Kirsty.

And it might just be that Simon's real parents are in real life as has been described, i.e..blonde mother and Mediterranean-looking father and the casting director tried to get as close to that as he could in Alex Bain for dark Peter and blonde Lucy.

But none of it matters.
It doesn't matter what Alex Bain's heritage is "if" he looks wrong for the part. I have suggested ways in which it would be possible for Lucy and Peter's child to look like Simon, but I cant think of any way a fair skinned baby could become that dark and curly. (Unless a future plot is the revelation that the real Simon died and Lucy snatched another baby)

It's infuriating. Time and again they use this, and it seems to have become more frequent, along with eavesdropping which is constantly deployed.

The attempted confession was all the more unbelievable when conducted with Tracy watching. Why on earth wouldn't Carla go somewhere private to tell him? Like at home, for example...
Well we are guessing characters in Corrieland must settle down for the night in their homes and prepare for sleep. I don't know if Carla and Nick live with each other, but they live in the same apartment block so I am sure she can tell him there at the end of the day. I am sure Nick doesn't work in the Bistro 24/7, he does close up eventually!

It was only a month ago when Carla went and told Johnny's secret to Aidan and Kate to prevent Rob's blackmail. Now we are in a similar situation and she isn't going to tell Nick, or even inform Robert and Ken about what Tracy is doing. She is going to come across quite selfish if she will allow Nick to sell up his business to them, especially as he has done nothing wrong here.

I thought the earrings were ok. Maybe not Carla's style, but I dont think they could be called hideous.
Did we see Brian give them to Gail? I dont remember.

And just as she says 'I need to tell you something terrible' Nick cuts her off with a 'let me tell you something perfectly lovely that means you can't possibly confess now.'

Don't think that's ever been used before
that is the other soap staple

couple getting married
man gives something to his fiancee from his mother, as a wedding gift
she hates it,

as for Simon I did hint a while back of a future storyline where they find out that Lucy lost the real Simon and adopted an aboriginal baby.

....................... Could it have got any worse? Yes. The earrings from Gail and Nick's 'You're the only woman she's accepted' speech. ◔_◔ ......................
I half expected them to break into a rousing chorus : "One of us ... one of us ... we accept her, one of us".

Carla said "I've done something dreadful" and then Nick started giggling and laughing and presented her with a pair of earrings (!)

Thanks for the unexpected laughing fit.

If nobody filmed Anna's crazy attack on Phelan and stuck it on You tube it's a SOR.

Isn't Jeerk a bit long in the tooth to be riding on Izzy's knee now? He looks about four years old, surely he should be old enough to walk beside her?

Plus he's yet another mute kid, bit like his cousin the super smart Joor I appreciate they don't want to waste filming on kids babbling but he didn't even acknowledge his grandmother. My kid would at least smile and say hello!

Why doesnt Carla just tell Robert what Tracy wants her to do???? call the daft bints bluff.

Tracy has more to lose . How does she know Roberts got the money to buy out Nick?? What if Nick sells to somebody else ? Tims bought into a thriving taxi company and the papers are drawn up within hours of the offer.

1. Barely a minute into tonight's first episode and we're treated to Carla in her fancy flat, filling in all the goss to her BFF Michelle. Yawn!! Why would Michelle accept Carla's decision to pack up and leave, just like that? But worse of all, why is Carla this weak, helpless character, when she's built up to be something else. Sure, smokes and mirrors, but the Corrie writers can't have it both ways. That she's ruthlessly spitful about snobby Sally, can call the shots in the factory, but unable to outhink Tracy? Who she has got the better of so many times before.

2. Why can't Anna tell Kevin the truth? What has she got to lose? Pride?? I'm sorry but she lost that years ago with her loutish behaviour. As ever, she needs a man beside her to do the dirty (Eddie, then she got Owen to get rid of him, and now Kevin/'Phelan). And when she doesn't get her way she smashes things. Vile character.

3. Anna acting as though Kevin's the best thing that's happened to her in years. Ha! Horrible pacing, at times they were squabbling as if they'd been married for 20 years.

4. Surely Yasmin would be a better fit for this counsellor s/l. Or that Sally would have got her expertise about the 'community'. Photo opps at the 'community' centre..........

5. How on earth can Robert afford to buy the bistro, didn't his ex clear him out? Surely Tracy would've thought this through, but then again, she doesn't.

6. Sinead's photos. She's not bad looking, but why was she dressed up as some child? Looked like an extra off Grange Hill. If this storyline goes the way I think it does, Chesney will put a stop to her modelling 'career'. He's such a wet towel, get rid!!

7. Beth's rash has healed, huzzah! One way to tell if it's a Jonathan Harvey script.........her character would make an obscure pop knowledge reference.

8. Liz minding Streetcars? Since when?

9. Eileen and Jason not suspicious of Phelan's intentions?? Especially as Jason phoned the number he was given and managed to secure work just like that. It's not everyday that their neighbour mad Anna smashes vans either...........

and Sally wanting Tim to be partner in it...why? just because a window cleaner isn't classy enough for her political career or something? wouldn't people in a working class area want to vote for someone working class too?

plus imagine your partner just saying to you 'ah, you can jack your job in now, i've got something else for you to do.' you'd be like have an effing biscuit.

Why did they do the shoot at the factory instead of the photographers studio?? Really stupid to disrupt everyone's work, transport lights etc. Like did they especially need sewing machines or a grotty staff canteen in the background?

It makes no sense for Carla to do as Tracey asks, because she has no guarantee that Tracey wont tell Nick anyway once they have the bistro.

Anna's so called 'uncontrolled outrageous attack' just made her sound severely constipated and made the whole scene a badly acted joke. Thanks, SB, another winner

Holy f#ck......what the Hell was that scene with Anna attacking Phelan's van all about? Why was she growling like her out of The Exorcist ? I simply can't accept that the production team sat and watched that infantile nonsense and thought it was okay to make the cut. It was appalling. If Debbie Rush has any semblance of dignity or decency, she'll be rightly embarrassed when she sees that. Once again I have to ask this...who the Hell is writing this shite?

It feels like almost every episode starts with Carla and Michelle and then ends with a shot of Carla's face. It is so so repetitive. Why couldn't she tell Nick when they were alone in the flat? Then again if she was going to we'd have another contrived interruption like Gail turning up at the door. The show is becoming a chore to watch with the same repetitive crap, same dialogue and contrived nonsense.

It is Nick I feel most sorry for (even though he is a complete mug), he shouldn't be expected to sell his business for a mess Carla caused herself. And how can she guarantee Tracy won't blab anyway, thus ruining their chances of a fresh start?

As others said why can't she tell Ken or Robert what Tracy is doing? Carla was on good terms with Ken, but I guess that is something else forgotten by the writers.

Carla should just tell Robert what shes up to. Robert will tell her to sling her hook and then start up with Leanne ..Robert wont want Nick knowing for fear of losing his job and head chef ! in a back street bistro. Robert might not want to own a bistro and Tracy would see even less of him than she does now.

Where did Sally get the money from to invest in streetcars, was it from whatever winnings Kevin shared with her? And what sort of husband just accepts his wife telling him she has invested in a company and he now has a new career??!! Oh wait a minute....a husband in corrie of course

Also how ridiculous that Liz just leaves Sally alone in the cab office when there is no one there to man the switch, does she not care that her son has a share in it and hence could be losing business?

Robert already owns 20% of the Bistro, Tracy just wants the rest as cheaply as she can get it!
