Found John Middleton (Ashley), Charlotte Bellamy (Laurel), Natalie Anderson (Alicia) from Emmerdale to be constantly consistent in their big stories this year for me. Have to say, all the guff with Jai aside, I'm pleased Roxy Shahidi (Leyla) has settled back into the programme this year as well. Think she's incredibly underrated.
The only other soap I watch is Corrie and I can't say anyone immediately springs to mind for performance this year. I think a lot of the writing has let the performances down. Probably Sally and Tim have made the most impact for me overall. |

Charlotte Bellamy, Michael Parr, Laurie Brett, Adam Woodyatt, Rakhee Thakrar spring to mind.

Thomas Atkinson (Lachlan in Emmerdale) - I thought he was great right from the start and in particular he played a blinder in the sexual assault story line. I admire T. A. for having the guts to take it on.

Louise Marwood - Emmerdales Chrissie, I think she is greatly under appreciated. She did fantastic during the Lachlan storyline and then with the Robert affair storyline.

I couldnt choose one right now so many. I am going to put my list as character for ease and splling reasons
Eric Pollard Phil Mitchell Laurel Dingle - the alcohol story Ian Beale Sarah Lou Platt - the live Chas Dingle Shabnam Masood Mercedes Mqueen Reenie Mcqueen Lindsey Butterfield john Middleton so far with his dementia story Carol Jackson I think the above standout however I think the following have given strong performances as we associate with the majority Debbie Dingle Belle Dingle Alicia Metcalfe Carly Hope Kylie Platt David Platt Carla Connor all the corrie cast in the live all the eastenders cast (bar dead kathy) in the ee lives Dean Wicks Shirley Carter Ben Mitchell Stacey Branning Linda Carter Mick Carter (we needed more of both these two Carters) |

It's actually bothering me how underused she has been since her return. It's been 2 years and she has yet to have a storyline of her own. I don't count that horrible Jai affair as a SL.
Agreed!! Lachlan makes my skin crawl and I really hate him but that just shows how great of an actor Thomas is. |

Without a doubt rakhee thakrar. Her performances are amazing. I would say Laurie brett and Adam woodyat were very good in the live shows (though I hated the reveal!) but I would also say Jake wood gave a great performance when he escaped from court. His scenes with Cora and stacey were really brilliant.

Shabnam in EE has been brilliant. I am also pleasantly surprised by Bonnie Langford so honourable mention to her.
Laurel in ED for her alcoholism storyline, even though Laurel has become a tiresome character. I also think Carla Bonner has been brilliant as Steph in Neighbours. |

Jessie Wallace for her visit to the convent.
Linda Henry...consistently good Roger Sloman for his portrayal of Christine Laurie Brett has done a great job despite her scenes being repetitive. |

Oh Emmerdale, I'd say Natalie Anderson, Charlotte Bellamy, and John Middleton, because they had heavy storylines to carry, and they've done them really well.
But special mention for Samantha Giles as Bernice - thought she was lovely in the storyline around her marriage to Lawrence. Kelvin Fletcher was good in that as well. Don't always like to single out people on Emmerdale though - they have a great ensemble cast. Charley Hardwick as Val and Alicya Eyo as Ruby had great exits. Chris Chittell and Jane Cox (finally) were great in the Christmas episode. Michelle Hardwick's been good in the baby Johnny story as well, and I like Gaynor Faye in her pregancy storyline. |
