EE - Claudette the master manipulator
First of all, may I say Claudette has been the most fascinating new character to go into show. What a twisted, crazy woman she is underneath that warm, bubbly, ultra smooth persona she puts across. Like how understanding and supportive she was of Les' alter ego Christine.
Now I get what Aunt Sal meant when she said her true colours are bad. Her relationship with Vincent is manipulative and self-serving. She made him into the thug he is today using his dad's death as the device to spur him on. But this what is interesting. She occasionally slips up her story about his dad's death which Vincent noticed tonight but she rebuked that and he automatically accepted it probably cause she is his mum. I have a feeling that Claudette murdered her husband because he was a weak man probably not herself by a hitman or some sorts while she was having an affair with Eric and probably annoyed when Eric wouldn't leave Peggy for her. Also even though, she is so passionate about getting revenge on the Mitchells for her husband's death. It isn't about him at all, it is about how Eric rejected her and it is still making her bitter to this day. I'm excited to see this character develop in 2016. So glad Ellen Thomas has been given a character so complex to play. |

I think she paid a Mitchell to kill her husband and he either took the money and didn't do the job or told her husband so she killed him herself.
She is deliciously devious, I am loving the character. I do feel sad for Fatboy caught up in their games though and Claudette as as much blood on her hands as Ronnie does |

I agree, I'm quite intrigued by Claudette. I like the way she spins and is manipulating everything. It keeps the storyline ticking along nicely....!

The only manipulators are the fans coming with these crazy theories in attempt to take the heat off the thuggish Mitchells. No doubt the spinless writers of the show will comply though and Phil will win again.

She's a manipulator for sure in some ways and very driven because of her grudge but not a master manipulator for the simple reason she still hasn't after all these years achieved her main goal and passion of taking down the Mitchells.

I'm getting a bit frustrated by people wanting highly watchable characters to be written out
Phil IS Eastenders Quote:
How does any of the actions of another character take the heat off the Mitchells? Other people being bad doesn't make them less bad.

Phil is finished. A few years ago I would have agreed with you, but hiis legacy shouldn't be able to save him anymore for me. It's getting beyond insane how he keeps on winning, keeps on "owning" these young guys.
True but it did sound pretty good when I typed it ![]() What an idiotic thing to suggest |

Because the character has become a joke. The writers have ruined him and are ruining other characters at the expense of keeping him on. How can people not see that?
This has always been Phil He's always come out on top. It's why he's so loved We want drama and secrets and murders because they're interesting. We moan when there aren't any dramatic episodes and we moan when there are |

Maybe she was the local bike (sorry to be so graphic) and mr hubbard couldn't take it any more . I'm tellin' ya, there's a stash of letters to little boy vincent from his daddy hidden somewhere in walford . You read it here first . |

They need to write her a bit better, she came out with some right clangers tonight. Especially that line about "that fateful night." But I agree she's an interesting character and very well acted.

And its not crazy theories if you actually follow the story you will know Claudette was behind Fatboy's death. Ronnie and Vincent were the pawns in her bid to continue the feud with Phil. |

I never really got why Vincent wanted to kill Phil. I mean it was Eric who killed his Dad and not Phil, but its clear in tonights episode he does not want to kill Phil for himself, but for his mother.

What's so interesting about her is this very clear split in her personality - she has a brutal, cruel, evil streak up there with anyone, but on the other side she is this amazing, compassionate woman, who has been amazing with foster kids, and with her friends...it's really interesting to see a villain that is so faceted and multi-dimensional.
What she did to Fatboy was beyond anything I ever thought she'd be capable of though.
