Why do think he seems bitter?

If he is, he has no right. He was a shit character that was lucky to survive 5 months let alone 5 years.....and he screwed it all up for a lewd 8-minute phone call.

Ricky Norwood doesn't strike me as the type to go on to crack Hollywood so it's his own fault he was given some an insulting and grisly ending!

Fool.

did think it was an apt line

I personally think Fatboy, Dexter and possibly Lola were axed due to bad behaviour. Obviously Fatboys and Dexters misdemeanors were in the papers.

I think it is wrong for producers to axe and to kill characters out of spite corrie have tina and maddie as examples of this and now fatboy.

I have to agree-he RTed quite a few Tweets saying it was wrong or unfair that Fatboy went that way.

I suspects more cautious actor would be more careful about what they put out when they leave. Acting is a small world and you don't want to burn too many bridges in case you meet these people again later on in your career.

What did they do? I hadn't heard anything until I read this thread.

I do think it's bad how they killed him off, I was hoping it was Vincent in the boot, I wouldn't be bothered if he was killed off.

Ricky did a sexy video to some girl online and the guy who played Dexter was causing mischief on set of EE. But Ricky's incident was over a year ago. I think he was let go because the character was simply pointless and DTC could not do no more.

But let's also remember that Shona McGarty has been in trouble twice. She was suspended twice. Once for where she was mucking about in a supermarket and poured Yoghurt over herself in a sexual manner, and the second time was through being late constantly.

I see. Some of those seem petty reasons. I remember seeing the Abby character on the front of the Sun a while ago saying she took drugs or something, don't know if thats true though - you'd think she'd be the one to go if it was.

Did Ricky Norwood know his character would be killed off I wonder? If you thought your final scene was heading for the tube with a good possibility of a return one day and then you tuned in last night to find you were a corpse in a car boot with no way back, I can imagine some immediate bitterness.

I find it hard to believe that somehow Ricky Norwood didn't know.

Thanks to that modern invention Twitter you can now ask him that question directly yourself if you like.

I expect he knew.

She was suspended once. She was put on a warning over the yoghurt incident but wasn't suspended.

If he was so bitter he wouldn't be following DTC and DTCs wouldn't be following him back!

I think it would be cruel if Ricky wasn't told that Fatboy would return and I'm sure the producers had to tell him. I do find it a bit annoying that DTC didn't give a tweet saying goodbye to Ricky/Fatboy, who was such a loveable character for 6 years.

DTC seemed more excited about Jack returning, which they planned for 6 months...

I feel a bit sorry for him really. He's not that bad of an actor. He can do a bit of comedy. But they simply never bothered to use him. He showed promise with Mercy's visa storyline but that was short lived, which also coincided with his dad turning up, which again was short lived. He has spent 6 years drinking tea with Dot or having short lived flings with Poppy, Denise and Donna. At least he bagged some panto work, so he didn't go that long without a job.

Oh please, he's retweeted several tweets that express how angry they are that FatBoy has been written out and particularly that he was killed off.

If he wasn't bitter he would have left at his tweet on Christmas Eve.

A previousy Lucy (allegedly) got sacked for passing out after doing drugs, and Jessie Wallace got a long suspension for (allegedly) giving Hannah Waterman a black eye off set.
Anything that causes the production schedules to have to be changed or re-written is very heavily punished AFAIK

The worst "crime" of all by an actor was Annie Jones who played "Plain Jane" in Neighbours.
IIRC she was summarily sacked on the spot when she fell in love with (and later married) one of the Directors who worked on "Home and Away", as they could not have her taking scripts home to learn with someone from their deadly rival soap possibly getting to see them.
Caused massive rewrites and plot changes.
