Just been wathcing the two young kids playing the last three sets and was amazed at the praise they were both getting and the relative poor standard...
Only found out at the end, that it was the youth championship...

Separate note... I didn't realise that when they are going for a finish, that it counted towards their overall average... i.e if they are have three darts at a 24 finish, then this will take their average down.. unfair?!

Cracking darts there from Ann-Louise Peters.

Zoe Jones wasn't very gracious in defeat there.
Pretty woman but not a pretty attitude.

That is the same with all darts. Missed darts count. Its 501 divided by how many darts you take to get it.

I entered it one year when at school. Got to the semi finals of the Humberside Open. Winner got to the British Open finals.

Never realised that about the averages.
Is it true you have to put on 4 stone in order to get into the PDC Tournaments?

It hasn't been a been a vintage BDO Worlds so far and it is nice to see them acknowledge that ( well all bar Tony Green )

off topic but it depends on BDO.

Don't really know where BDO is heading with the darts.
the unique selling point for bdo is the FTA/grass root darts.

Without FTA you do really have to ask what the point of BDO in the future considering PDC could always do more in the grass root level and their being only one darts body.

Wouldn't really surprise me if BDO are adamant in some sort of FTA/Wide availability channel even if it is only Euro sport.

Without FTA coverage you do have to ask what the point of BDO exciting in the future especially if the amount BT pay for the rights isn't that much.
Would be far lower ratings and possibly less money coming through them since more people would be watching and PDC will be by far the most popular and most watched darts.
ITV 4 still has PDC dart rights.

The BDO exists in county matches every weekend. The BDO exists in pub leagues every night of the week.

To join the PDC you need a tour card. To join the BDO you need 3 darts. It won't die, it will still exist because without it there would be no players progressing through to the PDC.

Sudden death leg between Scotty Dog and Mark McGeeney. Lovely to see the players showing so much appreciation and respect for each other. Lots of applauding, smiling and hand shaking. Great sportsmanship

McGeeney had numerous match darts but the defending champ rode his luck and is into the semi finals.

The problems with her doubles became the theme of the match. Even Trina tried to beat her in missed doubles.

Happy for Trina though.

With the Scott Mitchell/Mark McGeeney Ann-Louise Peters/Zoe Jones matches as well. A great afternoon of darts.

great afternoon-- I've not been able to watch much Lakeside this year so glad I was in this afternoon. What a win for Scotty dog.

Scotty did really well to win considering McGeeney had 7 or 8 darts to win the match! It really was a great match.

Kudos to the BBC for staying with the darts this afternoon too.

Probably don't see that very often, De Vos has just won a set by checking out on the bull all 3 legs! 2-0 up on Waites now.
